I like what you said about the internalized feelings causing disappointment. I also think it’s important to note you both have a lot of length. Which I’ve noticed as my hair has gotten longer, I find that it seems to be more manageable. Hence why a lot of people are watching 4c long hair and expecting the same results on shorter and sometimes it’s simply not going to look the same

i love steph's energy! y'all are so right about 4c manageability. your channel (shout the 1 hour wash day vid) showed me how i was overcomplicating my hair. i used to obsess over curl definition and not shampooing too much. now i just have my simple weekly wash day routine. i look forward to doing my hair now cause it's not as tedious anymore 😊
How do you style it every week?
@@JazzyB9481 i just do chunky twists on wash day (sunday) and wear those for a few days, then usually wednesday - sunday, i'll rock a twist-out!

This was so much fun to watch. Nothing beats a good collab where us ladies are lifting one another up instead of tearing each other down. I love the density and health of both of your heads of hair. I think both your and Steph's twist out look great on you. You guys did a great job on each others style. I'm a wash & go girl also because I have no patience for all the twisting and waiting days to wear my style. WnG's are just easy for me, and since I don't get a lot of tangles and ssk's I wear them almost all the time.

I love this collaboration, but it looked like Caramel Coils was a bit uncomfortable handling 4C hair texture. The final result is pretty good, but a little more frizz and a little flatter than if she did it herself. KandidKinks' hair is in really good condition with a good shape and growing so long. So proud to witness it. In the future, I would love to see a collab with another 4C You Tuber. xoxo
I think she was uncomfortable because she typically doesn't do twists. She's a wash n go girl. Although Steph may not consider herself 4C, I don't think their hair texture, (strand size and surface texture) is that different. Their curl size can be different but not as much the feel and behavior. Plus Kandid Kinks hair was stretched, so that should've made things easier.
I have the same problem as caramel coils and we have similar hair texture. My hair for the life of me wouldn't do a twist out but wash n gos always comes out Poppin so I just stick to that.
The detangeling part was 👀 like oh my god she should'nt pull out the hair like this when she's detangeling

Her hair is very manageable. Her hair is WAY more dense than mine, but I always have detangling problems when I try to wash in fewer than 4 sections. Here she is over here washing her whole head at one time! SMH!
I wasn’t able to wash without sections or twists until I learned how to detangle safely,
effectively and quickly. And it’s *OK* to learn that. I’m about to be 6 years natural this upcoming January (🙌🏾🥳) but I’ve only been washing without sections for about a year. Before that, I was prepooing every wash, including midweek.
I know it’s comfortable to wash by section, but it saves sooo much time to leave the sectioning for conditioning and detangling part.
^yep it's important to know how to detangle properly and have hydrated hair. It wasn't until I started washing my hair weekly, ditching oils and butters and learning the techniques that worked for me that I was able to wash my hair in one section and finish shampooing and conditioning my 4c dense hair in a little over an hour
Y'all have convinced me to give it another try. One major difference in my routine is that I go much longer in between washes. Due to an intense work schedule I pretty much wear natural textured wigs or crochet styles all the time with monthly takedown and wash. I do prepoo to remove shed hair, so I might be able to make it work. The tangle teaser has been a game changer for wash day.

this was okay but may i suggest that you do this again but you both switch styles you do a wash n go and she does a twist out and then too don't tell each other what to do just do the styles and see what happens whether it turns out great or not that would be a much better vid imo
this vid and her vid you both were doing too much, telling each other what to do instead of just enjoying each other and having fun maybe even pick out the differ products each other should use as well
i would be more likely to watch the entire vid if it was more laid back and not critiquing each other so much
