Just because something hasn’t been proven to be a fact it exists doesn’t always mean that something is proven to not exist; especially if it’s determining whether or not there is a sentient divine being who is believed can choose whether to reveal or not reveal themselves to the world.
If it’s believed their God is capable of withholding evidence of their divinity, then there is always the possibility that the reason for a lack of evidence for a God could be due to their being a God who chose not to reveal evidence of their divinity to the world.

Moreover, the religion people believe in is in 99% of the cases a pure geographical and temporal coincidence! It's all about indoctrination from childhood on with the religion of the parents and the community, social pressure and often oppression, a lack of a PROPER scientific education, especially about evolution and cosmology, and often a lack of reasoning abilities and critical thinking skills! But there is not a shred of evidence for the existence of ANY god or Allah or whatever name they gave to their non-existing celestial dictator!

Christianity is the story of what God did, and Science is the study of how He did it. You cannot separate the two. Science presupposes order and design in creation that could only come from the mind of creator and designer.
Some religions may be self-centered like you say, but Christianity certainly isn't. Christianity is about God and His relationship with all of His people.

What amazes me is that a lot of Christian apologists seem to think they have special knowledge on how things work and all of sudden they know more than Mr Krauss or Prof Brian Cox , Prof Richard Dawkins who are experts in their respective fields with a life long study and works to back up what they say.. I could probably name a lot more.

Bloodletting was not a religious practice. It was a purely scientific one that was just found out to be wrong. Science makes mistakes all the time, I think its important to realize that. Science is not the end-all be-all to the Universe, it is an attempt to scratch at the infinite complexity and vastness of God's creation, it is ultimately a futile pursuit that will never fully be brought to fruition. Regardless of how smart or progressive we become, we will never unlock even a tiny fraction of the secrets of the universe, we are but specs in the grand scheme of the cosmos.
Euthenasia used to "scientific", racism used to be "scientific", forced sterilization used to be "scientific". For every disgust with Christianity and I can bring you two that have resulted from "scientific" atheist materialism. Religion and science are two binaries essential to a knowledgable (science) and moral (Christianity) worldview. Without science we are ignorant of how God's creation works just like those people who only relied on prayer to be healed from their illnesses, and without Christianity we are liable to use the great tool of science to do evil things (like the examples I mentioned above).
My point is that none us human beings have it all figured out, and Christians should know that more than anyone. All we know is what God has revealed to us, and God is infinite, creation is literally always expanding! Meaning, there is so much to know about Him that in our current state we could never fully understand Him. In this way, our lives should be lived out in total humility and awe of creation
I'm not sure what you meant by your final point. Yes, the lack of science led people to rely more on God and Christianity to solve their earthly problems. If you witnessed the ones you love die from an invisible plague, would you not also look to God for relief? And just because science has increased doesn't mean Christianity is minimized, like I said earlier, they are in s sort of symbiotic relationship. The way I think about it is that Christianity, the Bible, tells us what God did, and scienec tells us how He did it (to a certain extent).

Hitchens Razor states that any assertion given without evidence can be dismissed without evidence as well.

It honestly breaks my heart when on any random video, if there is a comment about God, there's 1 or 2 people giving their rational respectful rebuttals, while being passively, or even blatantly, attacked by the majority which are theists. When I thought through my religion and did the work to honestly try my best to understand the world around me, it was painfully obvious. The big hurdle is actually being able to let yourself think about it. It breaks my heart to see so many people that are still ironically shackled by the stunted thought processes that religion puts in its followers. It scares me to realize that actual rational thinking is not the majority. I come to these videos sometimes literally just to feel like I'm home. To know that there are people out there that do understand this stuff and how irrational religion is. Thank you Lawrence. Thank you to all you guys that helped me truly see for the first time.

Agreed. I think most Atheists make the correlation of 'God' to religion. (rightly so) I now have the belief that a Divine source of everything exists but does not intervene (Deism) and get involved with humanities petty, immature, adolescent rants in life. Some people actually need help crossing a street and help with many of things. Science is not quite there yet. Many want 'proof/evidence' they are not willing to accept, no matter how much proof one brings. i.e. Veridical NDE's. 2nd and more parties witnessing something that is not possible under the conditions of existing science. I digress.

There are a lot of monotheistic gods. For every disagreement about a monotheistic god generates a new version of monotheistic god. There is the Catholic god, and there are the many protestant gods, and the Mormon god, the Jehovah witness god, the Islamic god. All of these gods may share similarities but are independent ideas of what that god is.

6:10 I had not expected to disagree with Krauss, but he is wrong about the meaning of _refute_ : in science it *does* mean to disprove, not merely to deny or reject.
But an unfalsifiable claim requires no rejection or disproof.
God isnt so much dead as obsolete.
Human beings will always need a reason to be good. We are not inherently good on our own, and religion (Christianity) has filled that void for the past several thousand years atleast, but now that western society is drifting away from our Lord, we will lose that reason to be good and suffer the consequences.

My choice on what I believe is that God is a piece of ur subconscious and nothing more. Ur morals and choices that u create and make. I theorise Christianity is Hinduism moved westwards. I was raised RC and in this Church you can see all the facets of Hinduism. It's ostentatious, prayer beads, temples, statues, incense, mantras, icons, flowers. In pantheism we see the universe as God prima facie since we know we're made in stars, the element carbon. The building blocks of life are in the interstellar medium. The cosmos is a big chemical laboratory which creates life. Neither good nor evil it creates pathogens, it creates people. In England the BBC science unit conducted an experiment some years ago in which they used the microwave background radiation to see whether the universe is unbounded or bounded in the four dimensions. The result was indeed a cosmos unbounded in the three dimensions of space and one of time. It did not begin and has no edge they said. But pantheism isn't undemocratic unlike doctrinaire religion. It welcomes discussion and new ideas. Nothing is written in stone. In science we change or abandon theories as new evidence is found unlike religion. Organized religions are political movements pure and simple about power and control. They try to corral everybody into a kind of groupthink and issue threats if you don't comply. They tell you you're a sinner so that you're in thrall to them for redemption. Well I'm not a sinner mate, l obey the law and harm no man.

And like with the other gods that have been buried due to our current understanding of the physical world and cosmos, this also applies to the god of the Bible because it is very obvious that the people who wrote the things in the Bible did in fact make this stuff up because just take a look at how these people claimed their god created everything. They claimed that their god created an earth that is shaped like a clay under the seal(flat+circular), they said their god created a firmament above the Earth(above works on a flat earth only) which we know does not exist now, they claimed a blanket of water envelopes over top this nonexistant firmament, that the Sun and the Moon are equal size and are embedded into this firmament, and that stars are tiny objects that hang from the firmament and sometimes fall to the Earth underneath and are also prophesied to fall and be stepped on by man. And these people also made other claims about features of the Earth that we know now are just not true but there's too many for me to just ramble on the list.
The fact is, there was never a god ever that created things in this manner, and it's the same people who made these claims that also have their believers believing that this same god is also going to be doing other things with the Earth in the future as well as what this god will be doing to people's Souls. Since we know that these people made up all these attributes about this god's character and what it has done, there's no good reason to believe that they received any of these prophecies from a god either concerning the future because the god that has the history that these people spoke of just does not exist, so yes, science has buried the god of the Bible and exposed it to be just another fabrication like all of the other gods that abrahamic god believers do not believe in.
Where does the Bible say that the creation of this earth was formed as flat when not everything that is made of clay is shaped to be flat like in bowls, cups, lamps, vases, and jugs? There isn’t any description that it sad like clay under a seal. Also, if the end result was different that what was described at the beginning, wouldn’t that be also a sign of something being manipulated such as being created into one thing from another thing?
Also where is it described the actual sizes of the sun moon snd stars as being the actual sizes as opposed to what they appear to look like from the surface of the earth?
Also, where are you getting your translation of the Biblical creation account because there is nothing like what you described in either the KJV or in some other English translations of Genesis.

Krauss makes a big point of science explaining nature better than the gods. But the believers aren't interested in explaining nature. They want an explanation for their own misfortune. Such people are an easy prey for conmen who tell them some kind of god did it, and that they know how to appease this god. The ultimate purpose is of course the livelihood of the conmen. All religious 'phenomena' can be explained as tricks to bolster this story. For example sacrifices. Once a person has spent some money or time or whatever the sunk cost fallacy makes him loath to think it was wasted. Look at the history of Christianity and Islam: it is all about power and money grabbing, from almost the beginning.

The Christians clearly stole their story - they didn’t even bother to change the details much.
But then many of the bible stories are stolen from other neighboring cultures - usually more advanced ones. They then rewrote them to accommodate their tribal war god Yahweh or some aspect of him. And frequently didn’t even bother to change much at all except the names!
