My late father ran away from his home in Nova Scotia to join the Canadian navy. Three months later, my Grandmother, who'd been looking for him for weeks, found out where he was and raised holy hell. The Canadian navy promptly discharged him. She brought him home but he ran away again - determined to do his part for the war - this time to Ipswich, MA, where he spent the rest of the war working at an Elco boatyard building PT boats. The woodworking skills he learned there, set him on his life's path as a carpenter. I've often thought I'd like to build a full-sized replica of an Elco, but I know I'd have to win the lottery to do so.

Jorge, I would love to model this as well. I also am an ACAD operator and would love to help convert your plans to digital ACAD drawings. Not only to build my own boat but to allow others to use them to model the boat for themselves. If you would be interested in a team effort to get this done please let me know!!!
Pete, cad doesn't excite me that much. I've lofted the 80 foot elco so many times I felt like an elco draftsman. If you want to build a full size boat that's something I'd collaborate on.

Perhaps there are other things on the boat we could collaborate on, most specifically the guns. I'd like to model them as close to possible to the real article. I've decided to follow in your footsteps and model the boat in 1:8 scale. Perhaps we can share some effort with those guns. I'd like to get as much made for me as possible using ACAD to draw items to be brass etched. Splitting the cost of that etching could save us both a bit of money and give us quality parts to model from. Have you gotten to the guns yet?
No! I have long way to go still guns are the last thing on my mind. Nice choice with the scale too its a great build size. If yo go to my play list PT BOAT R/C by Luis Valero de bernabe' he's another 109 ten footer he's a cad guy too. Have a look at his guns there impressive.

Thanks! I'm not in the boat building trade its just a hobby and the interior is not to scale the frames are to thick.
