Wasn't the storyline for Dark Wood Circus like the pov character gets kidnapped by the circus and transformed into one of their acts? Dead Line Circus on the other hand seems like they take a member from their audience and then kill them, if u had used the word cruel I would agree but I'd have to disagree on the deadly part

And Len's voice isn't really that girly, either. And Gumi's sounds a bit different than most uses of her.
