These are several massive projest currently on going in Africa but these are the ones that really stand out. So in no particular order, These are the Top 10 on going mega projects in Africa.
    1. Dangote Oil Refinery, Nigeria -The Dangote Oil refinery project is set to be world’s largest single oil refinery. Situated in Nigeria, the facility will produce a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day and will boost economic growth in Nigeria and generate thousands of jobs.
The refinery project will cost a whopping $14bn and once complete, the planned refinery and petrochemical complex is expected to account for half of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote’s sprawling assets. It is also expected to increase the country’s oil exports and
reduce its reliance on imports of petroleum products.
The refinery, which is expected to generate 9,500 direct and 25,000 indirect jobs, will produce Euro-V quality gasoline and diesel, as well as jet fuel and polypropylene. While Dangote took on a $3.3 billion syndicated loan, which Standard Chartered Plc arranged, about 60 per cent of the Dangote Oil Refinery will be self-funded.
    2. Egypt’s new capital city
Egypt’s spanking new capital rising up out of the desert sands is set to bring a breath of fresh air to Cairo that is weighed down by it’s population that continues to rise putting a strain on existing infrastructure.
    3. Konza Technopolis, Kenya - Konza Technopolis, previously called Konza Technology City, is a large technology hub planned by the Government of Kenya to be built 64 km south of Nairobi on the way to the port city of Mombasa. It is marketed as a key driver of Kenya’s national development plan, known as Kenya Vision 2030. Technology City is a smart city project that is coming up in the Eastern part of Kenya.
    4. Bagamoyo Port, Tanzania - The Bagamoyo Port is being constructed in Bagamoyo, Tanzania. Work started in 2018. It is planned to be one of the largest government infrastructure projects in the country. Tanzania embarked on the construction of an $11 billion mega port at the Swahili historical town of Bagamoyo, as it races to become a regional economic powerhouse.
    5. Mambilla hydroelectric power station {Nigeria}. The Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Station, is a 3,050 Megawatt hydroelectric power project under development in Nigeria. When completed, it will be the largest power-generating installation in the country, and one of the largest hydroelectric power stations in Africa.
    6. Kenya Standard Gauge Railway, Kenya. The Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway is a standard-gauge railway in Kenya that connects the large Indian Ocean city of Mombasa with Nairobi, the country's capital and largest city. Kenya is building a 969-kilometre standard gauge railway from Mombasa to Malaba, at a cost of $9.9 billion, in what is billed as one of the largest, and most ambitious transport infrastructure projects in Africa.
    7. Grand Ethiopian Dam. Ethiopia. The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, formerly known as the Millennium Dam and sometimes referred to as Hidase Dam, is a gravity dam on the Blue Nile River in Ethiopia that has been under construction since 2011. It is in the Benishangul-Gumuz Region of Ethiopia, about 15 km east of the border with Sudan.

I am so happy good things are happening in Africa. If not for bad leadership, corruption, political instability and problems of succession to power, Africa should be at par with Europe and America. We have the natural resources and intellectual capacity to be better than what we have now. But there is Hope. I Love Africa.

That's not true, may be a wish or an illusion. Each country has a capital but most importantly culture and moral values are very crucial to determine who can take a lead. So, what is important for us is to love our fellow Africans first and our beautiful continent.

It's a project, born out of the need to protect the Victoria Island from being overtaken by flood from the Atlantic ocean and later mutated into a whole new city project. Nice video compilations though. Good job, Africa.

Steel was produced in three-metre high furnaces fired by blowing pre-heated air from a number of goatskin strapped wooden bellows some 900 years before steel of comparable quality was produced by Bessemer in the 19th century in Europe,

Can we not build anything on our own? Why must we always rely on Chinese or Turks or Europeans? We need to educate and train our people on a massive scale. We need to mass produce engineers and mathematicians and scientists etc. Let us build more universities!

Brush up on global economics. The Chinese provide some capital to lots of projects worldwide including developed world. They fund nuclear and high speed rail projects in Europe and some projects in US. In so doing they participate in the construction. The world is global.

Having educated people without capital won't make a difference in terms of infrastructure. Literally all countries are in debt. Debt isn't bad.. bad use of it is the issue.

The chinese before they can do it on their own relied from foreign capital, as well as the USA they learned from the british, and the british build their railways using foreign capital. that's how they became rich, attract foreign knowledge and capital first learn from them, then do it on your own

Not even one project from South Africa and we are suppose to be the richest nation in Africa.. this just shows how bad the corruption is in SA. Our beloved country is run by a 'mafia state' and no one is doing anything about it. It's quite sad.

The DRC is one of the richest countries in terms of natural resources in Africa. It has cooper, cobalt, zinc, coltan, cassiterite, gold, bauxite, diamond, oil, and gas. However, DRC is also one of the poorest countries in the world, because the Congolese people have seen little benefit from these immense natural resources, which have been exploited for many decades.
