I got in trouble a lot as a kid for fighting. My wonderful, kind WWII vet Grandpa (may he RIP) told me "Mike you're getting older, next time you want to fight ask yourself if want to know that jerk for the next 20 seconds or the next 20 years." He passed soon after I'm 45 now and haven't raised my fists in anger since. Thanks Grandpa I miss you man.

It doesn't matter if the kid used his fists, an iron pipe, a knife, or a gun as dead is still dead. The kid hit a 70 year-old man with the intention of hurting him bad and he got his intended result. The judge should have given him the maximum 30 years as this was no accidental death but a very deliberate act to injure his victim.

I've done almost 9 years in Tennessee department of corrections and I had a very wise celli that said something that stuck with me still to this day. I'm not saying this kid is a horrific monster but he should have had more respect for that old man this guy looks like early 20s at the most and a 70 year old is in no kind of way a threat to him and this could have easily been avoided. The first time I went to prison i got to West Tennessee state prison in June of 2001 back when prison was still run like a prison and not this BS shirts tucked in cell inspection every single morning through the week days no smoking it's like night and day compared to how it used to be an what it's like now. I had a celli that was 110 pounds soaking wet Buck wild love to make whiskey and then always getting into a fight every single time he drank. He had been locked up since 1981 i was one year old when that man started doing his time and here's one of the realities of the prison system he went to the county jail with a 11/29 and him and a couple of other guys beat up a man who had a bad charge and he was sentenced to 3: years in tdoc and fast-forward to 20001 that man was still in the prison system and had never been home since he started doing that 11/29 . Altogether he had 40 something year's were he kept getting more charges and more time that was hard for me to wrap my head around this guy had been down since I was 1 years old. He was supposed to flatten out in 2015 i don't know if he ended up with more time or died in there i ended up getting sentenced to Tennessee department of corrections two additional times and never heard anything from or about him. Big shout out to James Jordan he was from Jamestown Tennessee i believe. I was 19 years old when I first got to prison i was still a big kid and old Jordan took me under his wing i guess you could say he's was a damn good dude batshit crazy but a damn good dude. I hope he's finally home and Free he was 50 or so then and he had hep c but hopefully Jordan your healthy and free at home with your family. James Jordan told me this after one of his drunken fights he said celli it's a lose lose situation if someone beats me up at my age they are going to be laughed at for beating up a old man and if they lose then they will definitely be laughed at and you don't get any kind of points for fighting a old man that a younger man who would more than likely be a easy win you don't harm old people or kids those two things are off limits and honestly his little old ass 90 percent of the time would always come out looking a lot better than the young guys he was beating up 😂

My dad and I got into a pretty heated argument about a year ago and I'm 43 i was 42 at the time I walk with prosthetics and I'm almost completely def and my dad is pushing 60 and i was 100% in the wrong he had every right to be upset with me and I kept telling him okay I'm sorry I was trying to leave and he come up to my door of my truck i was trying to get in the driver seat and leave and he started kicking my driver door and of course I didn't feel anything because yeah I slammed my legs in the door but my prosthetics are carbon fiber but I jumped out and said what the hell is wrong with you and him I wouldn't never raise my hand against my dad and I know I would still be able to hurt him. know even though I'm not as healthy as I used to be but I know I would still be able to hurt him if I tried but I know better I mean it wouldn't even be any kind of of fight there is no way he would lose and that's what is the most cowardly acts someone could do if somebody was to harm my grandparents or my parents they better hope the police get them first just saying or my children.

When I just got out of rehab in summer '21 I went to a halfway house. The dude who came in the same day as me was just coming home from a 10 year prison bid. We were seemingly complete opposites, but we immediately got tight w one another, and we made a pact to get our shit together. He was sentenced to 10 years for one punch killing his blood cousin/lifelong friend when they were at a bar when he was celebrating turning 21. The aunt begged the judge for leniency as well as she knew they were super close and this was an accident. At the end of the day, your violent action took someones life. Its rough, and he is a great dude who I am happy to say, just like me, 19 months later and were both being easy, being safe, and STAYING FREE! Great video as always, love this lesson.

If you're fighting because you're drunk or because of ego or pride, you're being childish and foolish, period. If this guy had just left the bar and gone home, what would he have lost? Nothing. He had no reason to fight. The only acceptable reason to fight is for your life or the life of your loved ones. In that situation, be ruthless and mercilessly destroy your opponent. If that's not the case, only negative things will happen as a result, as this guy in the video now understands. It's not worth it.

I've had a couple of relationships with guys like this fella above. They just couldn't get through their head that doing this sort of shit could easily turn into a serious jail term. Maybe a bunch of years ago, personal assault wasn't treated in the way it is today, but I have no problem at all with serious sentences in cases like this. In most other crimes, the victims are sort of removed from the whole thing, but when you're a victim of even a mild physical assault, it robs you of your trust and confidence. Luckily neither of my exes, ever laid a finger on me, likely cos they knew members of my family wouldn't stand for it and they didn't want to risk any of the backlash, but I could see the writing on the way and likely it was inevitable that they would hit me one day. If you know someone who does this sort of shit, try and make them realize just how dangerous it is, not only for the victim, but the perpetrator as well.

You hit it right on Isabel ! Last year I just retired ( 65 ) . I was a victim of an assault from a crazy Karen who left their dog in a hot car. When she came out of the store we were watching the dog and was able to get it water but she freaked and attacked me with her shopping cart and knocked me down and when taking a photo of her lic plate she ran into me with her car just as a cop drove in to witness it . she was charged but has no idea of what she has put me through . I am still healing, I landed on a curb with my back but could of been my head. I got a lawyer and still waiting for court if I live long enough . I went thru PSTD for a few months but doing better now. My retirement plans came to a halt real quick ! All because of a crazy lady not accepting what she did was wrong and lost it . luckily I had several witnesses as she screamed every word while attacking me and the cop saw the final hit which caused me to pop a muscle as I heard it ! I was still going to Physio to help that until Dec but insurance refusing any more treatments so have to go to a tribunal now . They love collecting but hate paying . They send you to Dr's an hr away for assesments and try to discourage you from getting financial assistance as they have not paid me a penny only for Physio and now that stopped ! It's been hard just trying to survive just on a Gov pension let alone any fun things which I would of paid for by earning extra money . Now I will just call the cops instead of confrontation as it's not worth it . I wish I had it on Video as it would of made the top ten Crazy Karen vids it was so loud and even when I fell on the ground she continued to ram my legs telling me to get up that I was faking it !

@joshmeek9573 that's why indont go to bars and drink. When I drink. I stay home or at a friend's house. I can't get into any trouble at home or my buddy's house.

@@stolnpckup same here. I also avoid fights. I'm 6"4 235lbs. if I fight and somebody gets seriously injured or killed my size will be used against me in court. The man in this video, Eric Cobb is my cousin. He has always had short man syndrome and feels like he has to prove himself. He doesn't know how to walk away

@joshmeek9573 sorry to read that he is your cousin. Don't take this the wrong way. But he now has time to sit and think about it.

This is why I have certain rules I do my best to follow. Rules like if it’s not worth killing someone over than it’s not worth putting my hands on them at all or really even to raise my voice. One punch or kick could potentially kill someone or severely hurt them.
