It’s nice to see a Texan commenter that owns Texans paraphernalia being an ACTUAL fan. Well done.
Thx for watching. If you just started listening to my show, I'm a native Houstonian who's lived here most of my life. I go back to the Oilers - but I also have worked over 3 decades in sports journalism covering all the teams as a videographer, editor, producer & reporter
Facts
Im ecstatic about Caley. He's worked in two places that are known for adjusting what they do to they talent they have as opposed to trying to get the talent to adjust to what they want to do. I also really like the fact that as a tight ends coach he's heavily involved in getting guys to be ready for both the run and the pass game. Having an OC who's never been a position coach really showed up this year.
Love to hear the excitement. Thx for watching
Robert Woods, Jimmy Ward, Shaq Mason... There are plenty of ways to get more cap space.... Not to mention Danielle Hunter extension could spread some money out for cap relief. I wouldn't pay alot of attention to how the cap looks right now. Nick has already proven he knows how to manipulate the cap.
Woods is not on the roster. Mason has a dead cap hit of 12M. Ward has a dead cap of 4.6. You don't save much with either. If you drop Ward, you have 1 good safety. Hunter might happen. Thx for the take.
@@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk that's cool, but even if it isn't much savings it's something. Better than wasting a roster spot on a guy who's declined in regards to Mason. With Ward, even with him on the roster you only had 1 good Safety. Murray was better than Ward this year which isn't saying a lot. My point is there is maneuvering that Caserio can do to clear space just as he had to do when he first arrived.
Can actually save money on Mason after January
@@TYork-713 Again... Ward's got dead cap & so does Mason. I believe it's make 3 or 4 million you save total. If you release Ward, you still gotta find a replacement. Ward's one of the QB's of the D - so even if you don't like him, DeMeco feels he's important. He's a leader, too. PFF graded Ward way higher than Murray. Before we cut all our O-Linemen & judge them on last yr, I'd like to see them with a competent O-Line & OC - if that is improved, which I hope so.
@@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk not trying to cut everyone, just the obvious old guy who can't move and is constantly overpowered in Mason. Ward is always hurt so we wouldn't miss him all that much and I feel his skillet is replaceable. Aziz will be the QB of the defense regardless as he was last season. DeMeco also liked Slowik so that's proven to not be enough to keep a guy around. I'm sure he likes Hufanga as well who I'd much rather invest those reps and that salary into.
New OLine coach Popovich was in NE for 4 years with Caley and Cookserio 💯🤘🏾🤘🏾
Thx for the take. Yep, I'll get more into him with John Crumpler later this week. Working on that

3 comments and please your thoughts.
1- Your show is the best barred none.
Thanks for all you do.
2. Every time people asked for FVV to be traded or come off the bench. I laugh.
Our team plays like crap without him.
We are not nearly ready for a post FVV era.
3- Rafael is too comfortable and is only looking for job security.
No trades are easy and secured.
Look at the Spurs. They got Fox for a bag of chips.
You mean to tell me we couldn't make a better offer.
4- we keep waiting for a 28 yr old Booker. Phoenix just said everyone is available except Booker.
Stone needs to move on. It ain't happening.
Thanks, Robert.
Huge thx! Agreed on 2. Spurs gave up two 1st rd picks for a Top 30 player. You know how I feel about Fox. I don't get it. On Booker: I just put on X basically the same thing you said
Ryan Anderson looks like a smaller, much skinnier Tom Arnold!
I’ll take tyreek hill. Won’t completely break the bank has pretty pretty good injury history compared to anyone else we looking at besides Garrett Wilson if we want to go all in. He can play slot and on the outside would be a great scheme fit. Had back to back 1700 yard seasons and only had a down season in 2024 bc he had Tyler hunter and skyler Thompson throwing him the ball 5 straight games and got way less receptions. He’s also younger than both kupp and diggs with less injuries the past 5 years and that speed dynamic paired with Nico could be the production over top we been looking for and give us that redzone offense we been lacking bc I don’t see any 2 corners in the league covering hill and Nico over top and in Miami he was still the wr1 taking on starting corners even with waddle, but in Houston no teams is leaving nico on the 2nd corner so hill would have that match up unlike in Miami
thx for the take. Not the biggest Tyreek fan because of his baggage off field but you can't argue on field if he's available
@@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk Houston has the players and staff that makes players buy in. Diggs was loving it making best friends before he got hurt and he had way more baggage. As long as hill is getting involved in the play calls he’ll be fine would be like Diggs again
Number 54 on the Texans way undersized but has a heart of a lion and did a lot better job than number 76 but the Texans need a real center and a smart Center not dumb ones and it seems like the Texans have a lot of dumb ones on their team
I would love to be a co host
not Kupp, someone else or stay with Diggs.
I wouldn't pay much for Diggs considering he's coming off a major surgery & he's over 30. That's typically a bad recipe. We'll see if he's even ready to start the yr. Do the Texans need to roll with aging/injury prone receivers every yr? (Noah Brown, Robert Woods, Tank, Diggs)
