Nisargadatta spoke in different ways depending on his audience. He spoke differently to Western visitors than he did to Indians who had been raised in Hinduism, and differently to advanced students than he did to beginners.
Every guru does that because it is the listener who has to understand. Indian listeners in those times too can absorb greater knowledge or let's just say understand because of our upbringing in these environment where some sort of discourses were happening around us even if it's not exactly like this higher knowledge.
@@teastrainer3604 What i am saying is that it is not that important who nisargadatta was speaking too. Indian,American etc. What is truly important is how those words effect the listener or reader HERE AND NOW.
45:14 it is written ''external"' not eternal... These are the external qualities characterizing the enlightened satyagrahin (seeker of truth). thanks a lot for reading. much blessing and love..
I don't know who Ed Musika is. I can tell you though that a jnani doesn't operate a business that seeks followers the way Musika does. As for his complaint that Nisargadatta had a "raggedy personality" and was "rude and acerbic," you have to remember who Nisargadatta was taking to then. These were Westerners who saw a business opportunity and were on the make, like Musika. They needed to be talked to that way. Nisargadatta said, "The intellectuals are the worst." Far from seeking followers -- or, as Musika sees them, CUSTOMERS -- a jnani sees seekers as a nuisance and tries to get rid of them as fast as possible. He doesn't sell his teachings. The world brings him what he needs.
From the introducction of this video: Ed Musika states: "One might ask, “What happened to the Bhakta?” Perhaps he reverted to his pre-awakening personality. So, is his later public persona a teaching style, also used by tons of Zen masters (priests, rabbis, sheiks, sifu, etc.) I don’t know. If I were to guess, I would lean towards the latter". We don't need to guess anymore. Maharaj would respond "do not forget that I do bhajans 4 times a day" [Although then he clarifies that he only did so because he was required by his teacher and not by any devotional inclination]. But taking this to its ultimate consequences, Maharaj clearly stated in his last talks that everything must be discarded or tracended. In other words this implies liberation from all dogma , concepts, identities, even the identity as a Bhakta. This have nothing to do with "teaching styles". His [for some] irreverent propositions were just pointers without frills.
Thank you Lomakayu, a joy to listen to and most clarifying into the build up to his Ultimate pointings. Will you be speaking the rest of the book here on youtube please or will a printing version be available some day? With love, Christopher
