In the spirit of this video, thats also why touring riders don’t put in big HP cams. Put one in that makes power from 1500-3500, where the real world lives. I learned this years ago when my dealer suggest a cam for my Evo, that made me have to downshift to beat a stock Harley from a 60 mph roll on in top gear. Live and learn.
Good to see you addressed the torque dip. This is what I warned you about when you installed the KhromeWerks exhausts. This also proves that baffles don't hurt the sound your bike makes. They're there for a reason, and it's not just reducing exhaust noise. This bike is a beast :).
that is definitely a real seat of the pants difference right there. It's amazing how flat the torque curve can be with these motors. that must be a blast to ride.
Wow Tall, sounds amazing! What a difference. I live in Niagara Falls ON, can't wait for the border to open up and take a road trip to Zippers. Great Videos!
So many folks want loud. The Khrome Werks mufflers have a far superior performance gain compared to other slip ons.I am going to get a pair for my 2022 Indian.
I recently put a 124” on my bike that already had the Zippers 468 cam. I also added the KW exhaust with louvered baffle. Phew, I almost bought the other baffle. Great video.
ANOTHER super video! Had same torque dip, same area. Installed the FuelMoto 6" inserts in my SVT 4.5" Boneshakers. Problem solved! 2019 RK Special 114 motor 22X-E cam. 135 torque 121 hp...
So much better, nice quite rumble so your not pissing everyone off and still sounds great when on the throttle AND more performance, More stelth too not drawing so much attention when cruising. I have D&D FatCat on my 103 with baffles, no more blowing my ear drums when taking a quick ride. Pure Class sound
I'm in a similar boat with my 4.5 TABs and the Zombie. Did the Reaper 465 cam and Tormentor headpipe. Tossed in the ring/cones which is helping the dip about 2300-2500rpms. TAB is getting me some options.
You should note that ZIPPERS "had" a nice power curve tuned with the D&D headpipe/ & exhaust they originally installed. *You Messed it up* and created that dip by changing slip-ons.!!! Lol Exhaust systems can make huge changes, not always for the better.
Thats true running slip-ons with no baffles created a bigger dip than before, but with the new baffles it corrected and surpassed where it use to dip with the previous setup. Both are great systems that offer two distinct sounds and looks. Thanks for watching Tony
Great video Tall………too many pipes and baffles to chose from and it looks you nail it. The sound you achieve for your bike is great. I just traded-in my ‘19 Ultra limited for a 2023 Rode Glide limited and I am searching for a good combination of pipes-baffles
The M8 is a different engine from the Twin Cam for sure , some back pressure is a must , I installed a Rush performance header on my 2016 103 Twin Cam and had similar results even with 2 1/4 baffles but it ran great after several auto tune with the FP3 but the bottom end torque changed Ride Safe
So do tell.... Real life road experience; how much can you feel the added torque on the road? I was looking at a different manufacturers 2.5" louvered baffles for the same reason; I saw someone's dyno results with them and was very impressed.
I’m running Jackpot RTX 2 into 1. I previously had a Rinehart Slimline Duals and I tried using Fuel Moto inserts. They made an improvement however there was still a dip until about 3300 similar maybe even more that your graph showed. Definitely will try to catch one of your rides this spring.
Good info Tall. I was split between TAB and Chrome Werks but, seeing this I think it's the right sound and performance. TABs might be a bit too loud long trips, specially with a passenger. Nice work man!
Great and useful video. In my CVO Road Glide with 117 engine (and S&S 475 Cam) I installed the Performance baffle within my 2 into 1 Khrome Werks exhaust system and the difference is really something with respect to the previous version with no baffle.
Man I love your content. I’m still rocking the 107 but I do have the kw 4.5. My heart sank when you went louvered, because I have hp+ but he says you get better results in smaller engines so there was a bit of relief. Like I’ve posted before nearly went with the zippers cam mainly because of how wonderfully you’ve demonstrated it’s performance. But (and I hope it’s not a mistake) I’ve gone wood 22x doesn’t have as big a torque dip in the beginning and sounds better to me. Probably not as good in the 124 as the 107, but to each their own. Rambling again. Thanks for the content and thoroughness
So with my 117 stage 4, should I do louvered or hp+? I know I want ditch the 4” rineharts and go with KW4.5. But I wanna get the right baffle. I guess I missed what he said about smaller engine applications.
@@levidavid09 He is saying the louvered insert was good for his larger motor. The HP plus is not an insert, it is the muffler. The muffler comes stock with baffles. These are inserts that are bought separately. The other insert he is talking about is the performance "spoon" baffle. It offers a little more back pressure which a smaller engine may need.
@@mattswindlehurst9038 I have the HP-PLUS Klassic Mufflers, P/N 202725, and they did NOT come with any inserts. I am considering either of these two; Louvered or Performance. Leaning toward Performance (spoon) with the slightly higher back pressure for my Stage 2 107. Awesome results here Tall!! Can't wait to feel that additional torque at the low end.
Just had Stage II done on my 114. I've got the Krome Werks mufflers (with the quiet baffles) with Cobra header, and have the same dip in torque. I'm gonna have a conversation with the tuner, and see if the change in baffles will help.
I have the 107 and thinking about doing the stage 2 with khrome werks but I'm worried they won't be loud enough , I heard them with no header and no cam and I thought they were very quiet but I did love the sound.
@@Old-n-slo-locked-n-leaned What do you mean "quiet baffles"? Which one is that? I have the same as you Stage 2 107 wondering which one to go with... leaning toward Performance insert.
Hey Tall, I just found your channel and I'm going to subscribe...I'm going to purchase my FIRST Harley (Road Glide Special) and am getting alot of great ideas from you. I want to thank you FIRST for that, and second I have a question regarding THIS video. To get the changes that are seen here with the new pipes (which I will purchase from Khrome Werks thank to YOU) did you have to do a "tune" as well? or are they just the slip on pipes with baffels? Thank You for all you do, I'm coming from the world of sport bikes and am learning alot. Thanks again, Jonathan
I came from my zx10r (first bike) to a Fatboy thinking it was a good introduction to Harleys. I should've gotten a Bagger, specifically a road glide which I have now since I traded it in. I'm not looking back, it's a whole vibe and loving the music. Putting a stage 2 kit in it and calling it a day
Your bike sounds great and looks like it's a beast! I also have a 2019 streetglide with a 107, what model of krone werks slip-ons and could you tell me the particular baffle you bought. I know I don't have a big stage 4 kit but I definitely will be adding a stage one soon. What tuner would you recommend for the stage I as well?
Zippers is a great product but when I called them they told me that they don't do regular mechanical work on bikes and referred me to other shops. I thought that was very odd.
The insert did quiet it down a little bit in my hearing, but it still sounds great. Did you change out the whole exhaust system or just put werks add-ons? Also what cam size are you running?
Did you ever change this baffle out? I see this video is from two years ago. I've got a 131, Kromewerks recommended their Perforated performance baffle
I'd really like to see the dyno chart for the HP+ baffles compared to the louvered!
You got three benefits; more torque, more HP at the end and a deeper sound.
sounds better with the baffles to me that is one nice bike fills all the senses
Thanks Kevin, one more thing and I'm done. New video, is coming soon. Thanks for watching.
Amazing results, vastly improved torque curve, specifically under (before) the torque peak. Excellent!

@@TravelingTall , which insert did you choose? The HP Plus or the Louvered ?

Did you have to do this on the road glide?

Yes it was! I had a great time.
That’s interesting and it shows it’s more than just bigger bores and different cams.

Wow, just when I thought the monster you ride was the baddest on the street. Another level!
You got that bike running good bro! You should keep that bike forever. The bikes will never change that much anyway. Great video!
