I've seen interviews with hackers. They always have the stupidest excuses such as "I don't actually care about the game, I just want to test my abilities as a hacker", yadda yadda... Basically they are sociopaths. (For the record, those were interviews about CSGO, I don't know the first thing about the "hacking scene" of Nintendo games. I can't imagine it to be much different though.)
I would've been routing for the purple team to cap zone the whole time, standing in zone to let them splat me and cap it faster. Half the zone was purple at one point too.

The thing is this hacker was probably getting in matches with highly skilled players due to the fact splatoon relies on a kinda ranking system to determine what players you play against. Which means if you encounter this hacker a lot you would get ranked down to play against people with a lower skill level.
If his teammates had a touch of integrity, they would have inked the zone at the first chance they had and just left it be. Or purposefully D/C before 3:59 on the timer just so the match ends in a tie for everyone else. Yet they did not.

Dude it's splatzones...a ranked mode. For all we know it could also be series and that means a free loss for the opposite team. Hacks shouldn't be abused in ranked mofes. Turf war is one thing but in rank it just shows how awful you are at the game. And to add, I don't really see anything "fun" for the opposite team when they can't defend themselves and have to sit at spawn and wait out the match, so I really don't understand your reasoning behind saying that we all are just "boring" in your eyes. Hackers can be fun but definitely not in this scenario.
