People who hate the song and especially those who say it's just a Poppy song without Noah singing don't understand that Noah isn't Bad Omens the whole band is Bad Omens and not just Noah it's downright disrespectful to rest of the band if you ask me
What I think it’s fascinating about Poppy it’s the continuation of her lore. She’s an ever evolving performance art as well as a unique vocalist and one of the most interesting ones out there in my opinion. She’s one of those artists that for you to truly get the whole thing you would have to start from the very beginning of the Poppy universe which is the videos she made before she started singing. Blonde AI Poppy went through a transition of being a captive vessel forced to perform under certain regulations up until becoming more sentient and breaking free from her owners and in search for her own sound as presented in ‘I Disagree’. If you go back to her video ‘Time’s Up’ you could say this is part-2 and this time it seems like real Poppy is no longer trying to break free from ai Poppy and instead is helping her escape knowing her intentions are to destroy the world humans have corrupted. I have to mention that of course the sound in this song it’s incredible and it definitely put Bad Omens in my musical radar.
If you know more about Poppy's story the themes kind of fit in more. She started in cutesy pop music when she made her youtube videos posing as an AI/Robot type. Back then her music was more satirical and a bit more bland. Was more about intention than actually caring about the soul/sound. She then broke up with the director who made the character and videos with her because he was abusive and that's when she started making the music she wanted to and went the metal route. She stuck with the brown hair and mostly stayed in different fusions of metal, punk, screamo etc., but her last album Zig was more of a dark pop album. She switches genres constantly but keeps it her somehow. Really the first venture back into a full pop sound (with metal hints sometimes) and was the first time she was blonde again. So I kind of take the VAN as her being violent against her director, the guy 'who created her' (hence the line before the first breakdown). The video kind of shows modern, dark haired poppy releasing the character that stayed with the pop music. Kind of symbolizing that old poppy (the AI character) has gone dark and now she's unleashed on the world. May be a love letter to her pop eras, or possibly an indication that the pop is making a return in her sound with a more chaotic vibe. That's also just my take though haha! Just seems to really fit what happened to her. her EAT NXT soundtrack is her heaviest alongside her cover of Kittie's 'Spit' I Disagree is the best starting album probably though (and showcases the separation between the character and Poppy herself) c: Flux is more punk, Zig is the Dark Pop. Hope you enjoy her! I lowkey wish she'd make a full album w Bad Omens after this track.
I also felt video game but was leaning towards F.E.A.R. 2, Even the part with the guys walking around with flashlights reminds me of the actual gameplay of that game.
First reaction I see where they mentioned they got RE vibes from the song... YES! I thought the same. Specially with that Marylin Manson track song he did for the movie
This is my first bad omens experience and I really like it I've heard it's a lot different to their other stuff so I'm not sure if I want to check them out fully!! I think poppy makes this song!!

Yes! Time Is Up, and also live action version of her first graphic novel, Genesis 1. She and Garrett did a great job directing!
Poppy also directed the video with her photo/videographer! She's such a complete artist.
