There was a Post Credit scene that was cut from the movie. I've seen this movie a hundred times since I was a kid and always loved it and watch it every Christmas. Well a few days ago I was seeing it for the first time this year. My mother passed away this past summer and this is my first Christmas without her. The previous two years I lost my father and both my grandmothers as well so this will be the first Christmas where we won't even "have Christmas" somewhere. When Kevin goes to Santa and says instead of presents he just wants his family back I completely lost it. I've never once even thought about crying during this movie, but I blubbered and bawled the entire rest of the movie. Don't take those people you love for granted, they won't be there forever.
I’m so excited that all of you got together to watch Home Alone. I’m very excited to see you all react to the sequel! Merry Christmas Magy, Trixy and Laura!
Daniel Stern Who Played Marv was wearing rubber feet. So no feet were harmed in the making of this film. The ornaments on the floor near the Christmas tree were made from candy not glass.
This movie is a classic with so many memorable scenes. The tarantula scene makes me laugh no matter how many times I have seen it because that’s exactly how I would act if you put one on my face and knowing that is was a real spider according to Daniel Stern and that was a real scream makes it even funnier. The ending scene with Kevin looking out of his window at old man Marley with his son and family makes me tear up every time.
It was a real spider, but the scream was ADR; they couldn't risk scarring the spider in real time because Daniel Stern's term for the scene was that they only got one take.
The dramatic hand slap on the glass counter is one of the nuances that makes John Hughes a legend! At least a dozen of his movies are CLASSICS and timeless! Movies such as "Home Alone", "Breakfast Club", "Planes, Trains & Automobiles", "Uncle Buck", "Vacation", "Sixteen Candles", and "Weird Science" are just some of the great movies he has written and/or directed and/or produced.
@@nsasupporter7557 Probably, but I'm pretty sure he was done with Hollywood at that point. The only reason he still made movies was to earn a living. This is what I read somewhere, but it could have been a rumor. Still though, from 1983 to 1990 he made so many great and memorable movies. No matter who you were or what country or culture you were from you could relate and be entertained by them. Even after 1990, he made a few "good" movies. One movie I thought was very underrated was Beethoven, which actually gets very good reviews from the public. P.S. My personal favorite is Planes, Trains, & Automobiles. I think John Candy was always willing to work with John Hughes because he knew the genius and passion Hughes had for his writing, directing, and producing movies. Remember, John Candy literally made "scale" for his role in Home Alone (less then $500) and I have to belive he did it not only as a favor to Hughes, but also knew that John's movies are always fun to work on and almost always high quality & entertaining (at the time).

The only real gripe I have about this movie is that when Harry grabs the door handle and burns/brands the M logo into his palm, his hand hold the door handle at a 90degree angle, but after shoving his hand in the snow (and subsequently in the second film catching Kevin as he runs from the hotel), the M shaped scar is VERTICAL instead of HORIZONTAL…

I love that John Candy and Macaulay were reunited in this after Uncle Buck. Even though they weren't in a scene together, close enough. Also the funeral scene by Candy was completely improvised, which makes it even more hilarious. And Marv's spider death scream is legit. He had arachnophobia. Merry Christmas! I really enjoyed watching you three react to this movie. I was 8 years old when it came out, so about the same age that Kevin was in the story. It's been my favorite Christmas movie ever since.
It has been theorized that John Candy's character in Home Alone is the same in Trains, Planes, and Automobiles. Though that's not necessarily the case, I believe it to be true and it warms my heart if you've ever seen the film.
The kids telling Harry they don't live at the McAllister house aren't lying to him. They're Kevin's cousins. The girl saying her parents are in Paris is the daughter of the uncle Kevin tries to visit in Home Alone 2, the one who's house is being renovated so he's living in Paris.
14:38 "If it makes you feel any better, I forgot my _reading_ glasses." Okay, Frank, see, _this_ is one of those times when it would've been better _not_ to speak.
For the era of the '80s/early '90s that John Hughes envisions and depicts in most of his films, the McAllisters still aren't rich (per se..). But the protagonists are growing up often in very upper middle-class families: so parents who are usually doctors, lawyers, real estate developers (Ferris Bueller's Day Off), work in investment banking, or specialized engineering of some kind (National Lampoon's Vacation series). That is, they live very comfortably, but their family incomes, and thus their standards of living, are still tied to and dependent on them working their jobs, as opposed to being able to live completely off their investments, and lavishly so.
This was a great time - enjoyed it with a group like this. When Harry tumbles back down the steps, I get a vibe like that's the silver streak (or something like that) of comedy & slapstick right there. I'm 37, & grew up with movies like this. During the '90s, this & Home Alone 2 would play on TV every year during the holidays in a Christmas movie line-up. In Home Alone 2 with the brick scene, it would have me laughin' my lungs out 😀. Slapstick comedic fun 😀. Merry Christmas to you girls 🎅🎄🎁✨☃❄🎶📼✝
1. John Candy did his part at union rate/FREE for his friend John Hughes RIP 😇😇 2. The items in Kevin's bags were all empty and not the same as what he had a checkout. 3. Daniel Stern/Harry has arachnophobia. That's why he freaked out. (NOTE: tarantula spiders aren't poisonous to humans but look scary). 4. "Angels with Filthy Souls" is not a real movie. 5. GOOF: Harry has tar all over his foot when he steps on the stairs but when he grabs his foot, and all the other scenes after that no tar. 6. NO WAY could a child get the rope tight enough between the house and treehouse without a winch of some kind. 7. There's ANOTHER NO WAY Kevin could clean up that fast. 8. Home Alone II is good. However, Kevin as good hearted as he is, he gets mean. 9. Macaulay Culkin worked with John Candy (and Hughes) in "Uncle Buck". That's how he got this gig. Great first time/share. HINT HINT
Oh my freaking goodness, Home Alone is a freaking Christmas classic lol Glad y'all are enjoying yourselves with this, and the traps are HILARIOUS And there's a eery film theory, that Kevin McCallister.... Is Jigsaw from SAW

I had Marv stepping in the nail as a Twitch alert because the way his scream so suddenly starts is hilarious. But yeah, people were a little grossed out so I had to get rid of it.
Great movie. Fun fact the actor who plays Kevin big brother is also his girlfriend they put a wig on him because they didn't want to offend a girl actress . The sequel is also great and a Christmas movie. Also should see is Reindeer games 2000 with Ben Affleck. no one react to it yet. Magy I hope you do a reaction for It's A Wonderful Life. Sounds like a rationalization from someone who's never had to get dirty doing a real job. Yeah, the McAllisters are living hand-to-mouth.
@@Hexon66 And you’d be wrong. Extremely wrong.
You ladies should watch the doctor’s diagnose the injuries in Home Alone.
I saw that. Realistically, the bad guys would have died ages ago especially having the hot iron drop on Marv's head.
1. John Candy did his part at union rate/FREE for his friend John Hughes
RIP 😇😇
HINT HINT
I remember doing some of these things when I was younger. Let's just say that you have to learn the hard way not to imitate certain things
Oh my freaking goodness, Home Alone is a freaking Christmas classic lol
Glad y'all are enjoying yourselves with this, and the traps are HILARIOUS
And there's a eery film theory, that Kevin McCallister....
Is Jigsaw from SAW
20:08 I think this movie came out before all the Stranger Danger videos of the 90's
Harry is wearing a wedding ring, he and Marv could be married.
IMO, this is on the top 5 of greatest christmas movies ever made. So happy you enjoyed it ladies! Keep Home Alone 2 coming, skip the money grabbings coming after it. (You even get to flame trump in the second one, sorry for the spoiler, but prepare the burns!
You didn’t include the part on the beginning when you realized you were playing the WRONG Home Alone movie, and were laughing and talking in Bulgarian! 🇧🇬😂
Mags, you should post that as a separate video! Too funny!
Omg Magy and Blu in the same vid?!??? My heart can’t take it!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍
OMG u 3 are so good together....Merry Christmas and a safe 2023
Great reaction! I didn’t realize you and Blue knew each other. I only found out recently that she knew the Homies. Do all the reactors on here know each other ??? I’m not familiar with Laura’s work, but I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
My favorite christmas franchise haha especially first two!
I'm glad of see you girls together😊
Yay! So good to see the three of you together!
"Keep the 💵 you filthy animal". I'm DEAD! 😂😂😂
This was always one of my favorite Christmas movies since my 90's childhood!😉🤣
36:19 best scream ever
I had Marv stepping in the nail as a Twitch alert because the way his scream so suddenly starts is hilarious. But yeah, people were a little grossed out so I had to get rid of it.
I love your reactions at 32:51😆🙂
Great movie. It is the ultimate Christmas movie and I love to see your reaction to it.
@@nsasupporter7557 It was the son of the art director.
