Visited there back in the 90s, thanks for the trip down memory lane! Incredible structure built in a very short time, wonder how long it would take the politicians to build something like that today. Another great video thank you
Hoover Dam was built two years ahead of schedule and under budget. You would never see that today. It would probably cost three times the budget and five years longer than scheduled.
Thanks for the great memory! My mom and dad took me there in 50s and I never forgot that place. My dad held on tight and let me look over the edge. Now I need to put the bridge on my bucket list!
Cool video I've never been that far west before, I know the video isn't the same as being there , but the shots you got are awesome. Cool seeing the overflows , and hearing some history. Hope you guys had a good holiday and hope you have a good new year , thanks again
Since I live in Phoenix and have been through there many times the construction that went into that never ceases to amaze me. It's a modern marvel still to this day. Thanks for sharing.
My dad took me when I was eight or nine. It was amazing! Back then you could take the elevator to the bottom and it took like twenty minutes to go all the way into the belly of the beast. I don’t think they let you go inside anymore since 9/11 though. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Rachel....tours were resumed after 9/11 but Covid 19 has now put a stop to the tours. Maybe when they resume my son and I will take the tour and do another video inside the dam.
Well, I have just watched another enjoyable Mixup98 video. I have never been out that way in America, but have read quite a bit about the Hoover Dam. Considering it was 1935, those engineers must have been quite something to have designed a dam like that for the mighty Colorado river. I have been to Colorado, as that is where my husband grew up. Anyway, you did a marvelous job of showing the awesomeness of this dam. I enjoyed every moment of the video. Thank you. (^_^) Happy New Year to you and your family. Kind regards. Liz.
Thank you Mr. Jones. Hopefully you will be able to come to the USA someday and visit some of our national treasures. We love your comment and we also thank you for watching our videos.
@@mixup98 always brother. And thank you for providing all the great content you do. People just DON'T realize how much unseen work goes into making YT videos.
Tillmans jersey is the only one I own, read his autobiography and his mothers book multiple times. Pat was a different character. His take on the current situations, would be enlightening for sure.
Yeah I wasn't lucky enough to work on the new bridge, but I wanted to when it was under construction, just wanted to put my name on it for bragging rights, but have since driven over it many times, sure made life a lot easier than going over the hoover dam with all the traffic. P.S. its 900 ft to the river from the bridge, ALOOOOONG WAY DOWN, LOL.
Hoover Dam was the first man-made structure to exceed the masonry mass of the Great Pyramid of Giza. The dam contains enough concrete to pave a strip 16 feet wide and 8 inches thick from San Francisco to New York City. More than 5 million barrels of Portland cement and 4.5 million cubic yards of aggregate went into the dam....Bureau of Reclamation.
We are pleased that we could show you a small part of this great country. Thank you for the nice compliment and my son and I also thank you for watching our videos.
I walked over that bridge a few years ago in the summer heat, no view like that anywhere in the world, brilliant place to visit nevada much more than just las vegas, would go again in a heartbeat
Absolutely incredable what man can achieve. It is mind boggling to thing how many man hours went into just the construction of the entire project. Thanks for sharing that mighty marvel.
Cool video. My wife and I walked on the bridge back in October 2019. We drove over the damn and turned around in Arizona. We didn't go on a tour, too crowded.
It's true. The high-water mark for American greatness peaked somewhere in the late 60's. The Moon landing was probably the last real achievement of lasting greatness by America.
Hoover Dam is really one of those places you really have to visit to fully appreciate. Last time I was down on the actual dam Lake Meade was near it's high water marks on the canyon walls. I haven't been down to walk across the bridge yet. I'll have to do that some day.
Got a chance to fly over the Hoover Dam in a helicopter and they had just started construction on the bridge. Very cool from the air. This year we drove over the bridge.
My wife and I make it there every time we visit. Last time we took the boat tour to the back of the dam. You should do a video on North Shore Drive to Valley of Fire SP. Red Rock is cool too.
We just might have to take that boat tour once this covid goes away and they start doing tours again. If you have been on North Shore Drive then you have probably stopped at Roger Springs. Here is a video my son and I did at Roger Springs a few years ago: ua-cam.com/video/OB1o8fPULw4/v-deo.html
Took the tour with my dad in 1977. Quite impressive! Still looks solid nearly 90 years after construction commenced. No base jumpers? We have them here - off the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls. Only legal base-jump bridge in the US. Be well, stay safe.
I also have memories of my dad taking me to Hoover Dam when I was a little kid and honestly, it scared the hell out of me and I refused to go back for many years. Fortunately I got over my phobia and now I love visiting the dam. I hope you had a great Christmas and let's hope next year is better for all of us.

Very cool video guy's, too bad you couldn't use the drone for some unique shots. That's one way of stocking the river with fish I guess. Great video ! Take care guy's stay safe.
