"A man either lives life as it happens to him, meets it head-on, and licks it. Or he turns his back on it and starts to wither away." - Boyce, advising Pike against retirement A quote from the very first STAR TREK scene shot 60 years ago !
Star Trek has been dead since 2009 when Bad Reboot turned it into action shlock for the lowest common denominator. It worked at first but the returns have been diminishing constantly over the years. It's time to put it to rest.
Yeah. Still haven't watched those shite movies. Knew it was gonna suck, just cause lens-flare boy was involved. Finally screwed up my nerve to try. Reinfirced with much spiced rum. Turned the shit off in less than half an hour. Even drunk, I couldn't swallow it's bullshit.
Its like the script writers, looking for ideas, just said 'oh wait, what was that quote from that other show?..yey we will put that in!' 'what was that joke we saw that time in the other show?.. let's take that too!'
But, since the didn’t this can all be ignored some day. If someone ever does what you suggest we can hope it’s done correctly in the spirit of Roddenberry and the hope of TNG. This will all be forgotten.
One franchise I'm glad they haven't touched and loved watching growing up with my father is Blakes 7. I finally finished the series after he passed away and the series finale threw me a curve ball and I certainly wasn't expecting how they ended that series.
I thought the lowest Star Trek got to was Star Trek Enterprise back in 2001. Then everything Star Trek since 2009 has made me realize how harsh I was towards Enterprise and even started to rewatch it and fell in love with it realizing how underrated Archer and Tucker are as Star Trek characters. Discovery, Picard show, lower deck and the movies since 2009 have just basterdized the 2nd biggest science fiction ip of all time.
Well, you see, Bele and Lokai eventually realized the tension between them was masking love. Then, Lokai revealed that he identifies as a woman and, thus, could have babies. They had many babies-all trans identifying-and eventually repopulated Charon. Hey, I think I have what it takes to write for the show!
Let's give a badge to our secret organization agents! A secret organization that was so secret that in DS9 there were no records of their organization, it was all memorized by their agents, so no one could know about them without being a member themselves!
I’ve been watching TNG for the first time since I was a kid and I forgot how good that show was, and how different all of the new ST is. It was made by people who knew what they believed in, and knew that it was good.
This is me with voyager right now and it's not even considered a good show by trekkies standards. But compared to modern shows and movies I've been really enjoying this re-watch.
I do have a Star trek joke....What does toilet paper and the Enterprise have in common??? They both circle Uranus searching for Klingons..Lol😂😂😂 love that old joke
Eh, William Sadler did have like a small team working under him the first time we met him. After they dropped the whole holodeck act trying to get Bashir to think he was a sleeper agent, there were a few people taking orders from him. But yeah, after that it was always just him. Of course, I guess the people in that scene under his command could've actually been holograms too. You could _almost_ head-canon it as him just being a lone player, only claiming to be a member of something called Section 31. It's not _quite_ that ambiguous, as there are other subtle (and less-than-subtle) confirmations of its existence. But it's kinda cool that he was written and played so duplicitously that one could actually buy that it was all just him all along.
Last Battlefield... every one died milenia before TOS except the 2 guys. And they tried to kill each other.... not possible to have anyone left from that species to be around for this show.
I remember with the introduction of the character Sloan and Section 31 during the run of DS9 just being blown away by the idea that Star Fleet had an entirely separate covert operations division distinct from regular Security and thinking what an amazing show it would make. Needless to say, this is not what I had in mind.

I think we have our answer now. They let Matalas go, the only person who gave a crap. Trek, sadly, is dead.
They might as well have branded it "Zoolander in Spaaace!", for all the relation it has to Star Trek.
Remember the GREAT TNG episode "Preemptive Strike" where Ro Laren had learned "advanced tactical training" (spy work)?
Nothing in this commercial feels like Star Trek. Nor does it feel remotely like a Sci-Fi spy movie! Preemptive Strike felt more like a Spy story than this does.
How is "The Orville" somehow more dignified and highbrow than all the Paramount+ Star Trek put together?
'We do it together.' -- What it looks like when an HR department writes a script, probably assisted by AI.
If we all hold hands and truly believe, anything is possible!
🙄
Atleast someone has some intellect between them, even if its in name only.
The whole trailer was made up of nothing but cliche lines nes.
Said it before, Ye can't spoil what be spoil already
The Empress seems to have set her Universal Translator to "California Gay". That would explain the flamboyant Klingons. 🖖
Paramount is about to bankrupt itself on stuff like this.
Kurzmann and all his collaborators should be blacklisted not only from all things Star Trek, but all creative work in general; being reduced to asking "Would you like fries with that?"
I bowed out of Nutrek after season 1 of STD. I vowed not to watch any new Trek until the franchise changed hands. I see I haven't missed anything. Lol
I avoided that like I would avoid a dog turd
Happy to say I have not watched any of these creep trash fires
“What are you doing IN my space station?” 🤦 can you imaging Sisko saying that? 🙈
I particularly love the episode where Sisko says 'Thats what happens when you invade safe space 9, now get OUT of my station!' 🤪✊
Michelle Yeoh got a lot of credit for Crouching Tiger, but now she’s just a sufficient token tick in a box.
That Witcher prequel and this horrible character prove it.
She was a Hong Kong kung fu flick minor star in the 80s and 90s. I have no idea how she got to be part of the Hollywood machinery, since Crouching Tiger and Tomorrow Never Dies were decades ago.
She can't act, has no screen charisma...definitely an Oscar winner.
First 3 seconds of the trailer. The music was enough to tell me what this was going to be.
I really wonder who this is made for. Even the creators & actors must know this is a big pile of shit.
I hope this hurts CBS so much they’re forced to sell the franchise.
And sell it to people that will heal it back to the original starfleet, full of hopeful people.
Old enough that I watched the original TV show on its first broadcast in black and white! This "new" shit is not Trek. I would rather watch fan fiction on UA-cam.
"we need you to" BOOM "Together we can" BOOM FLASH "Billions are" BOOM BOOM BOOM. Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to this one...
This makes the Star Wars holiday special a masterpiece in every way possible.
not even a star trek guy as soon as the music dropped i was like nah this is wrong then you commented on it then i laughed
"Section 31? What are we, some kind of suicide squad..." ahh dialogue.
Badges!? We don't need no stinking badges!
To boldly go where no one has ever wanted to go before
Sloan was one of the most compelling characters on DS9. Because he was not fully explained (until arguably his death episode, but even then there is the possibility it was all a ruse)
"This is gonna be bad" - this is the very definition of an honest trailer.
"A man either lives life as it happens to him, meets it head-on, and licks it. Or he turns his back on it and starts to wither away."
- Boyce, advising Pike against retirement
A quote from the very first STAR TREK scene shot 60 years ago !
That is one of my favorite scenes.
I'm with you, Gary, I'm an OG Trekkie and I really liked Picard S03.
Its like the script writers, looking for ideas, just said 'oh wait, what was that quote from that other show?..yey we will put that in!'
'what was that joke we saw that time in the other show?.. let's take that too!'
I said goodbye to Star Trek with Unification 765
Me, too.
Same
Does Section 31’s headquarters have a sign outside that reads “Secret Base”?
there is NOTHING about the trailer that makes me think "Star Trek".
Or watch it.
@@pthomas1967 👍👍
Gene Roddenberry very specifically said he did not ever want a "Starfleet Academy" series to be made.
They never should have gone backwards, no retro trek , no discovery,no SNW , they should have just gone with the post Voyager era...
But, since the didn’t this can all be ignored some day. If someone ever does what you suggest we can hope it’s done correctly in the spirit of Roddenberry and the hope of TNG. This will all be forgotten.
That would have required someone with Star Trek knowledge, which, in case it isn't obvious, didn't seem to include many people in NuTrek.
Nah, Enterprise is still bad, especially Archer.
Are you sure this is Star Trek and not Star Wars?
It even opens up in a cantina.
Who's gonna tell them the Charons were all extinct hundreds of years before they were FIRST encountered by the Enterprise?
Well, you see, Bele and Lokai eventually realized the tension between them was masking love. Then, Lokai revealed that he identifies as a woman and, thus, could have babies. They had many babies-all trans identifying-and eventually repopulated Charon. Hey, I think I have what it takes to write for the show!
@@interstellardave We must travel back into the past...repair whatever damage they've done! 😮😠
They should have called it Section 86, because the ship's goin' down!
Or section 69 if you know what I mean 🖖
Star Trek: Deep Space 6
Star Trek: Discard
Star Trek: Round File
Star Trek: Tragedy
Star Trek: Strange New Odors
How did Kurtzman get funding?
The spaceship is a giant broach. No wait it's one of those pinwheel toys.
I was trying to work out if it was implying a sex toy or female genitalia
I'm waiting since the beginning of the 2000s for a new Star Trek project 😢
I always thought the Mirror Universe was stupid, even in "Enterprise" & "DS9".
"This is going to be BAD."
- Section 31
☝🏽I always love it when they tell on themselves! 😜
There was section 31 in enterprise as well. They tried to recruit Malcom. And were using him
Academy Awards used to mean something. Then Billie Eilish and her bro 'won'. Sheesh.
As secret and covert as SHIELD with their branding everywhere.
NuTrek has worse lighting than GoT’s last season
Every NuTrek show is like watching the last season of GoT again. And again. And again. At least D&D had the common decency to just fuck off.
At this point, a 100 mile wide asteroid paying Earth a visit would be a blessing.
"What are we - some kind of covert organization Sector 31 now?"
Section 31 has the same harmonics as a flushing toilet
Last Battlefield... every one died milenia before TOS except the 2 guys. And they tried to kill each other.... not possible to have anyone left from that species to be around for this show.
I remember with the introduction of the character Sloan and Section 31 during the run of DS9 just being blown away by the idea that Star Fleet had an entirely separate covert operations division distinct from regular Security and thinking what an amazing show it would make. Needless to say, this is not what I had in mind.
Hollywood really needs to stop making every script that comes across a desk.
This show is so gay it makes Ed Wood’s “Glen or Glenda” look like “Tango and Cash” by comparison
