Valaya is my absolute favorite perfume. When I smelled mystique bouquet I nearly cried tears of joy. I bought a back up and one for my mom for Mother’s Day. I’m 31 to give a reference for age, on my skin it comes off a clean, slightly woody floral. It’s so beautiful. I get compliments every time I wear it by my husband and co-workers. I adoreeee it ❤

I love spicy fragrances and rock them in the heat here in Florida 😅 I'm also obsessed with oud done sweet and smooth. If anyone is a fan of Penhaligon Halfeti, Lattafa Morah is a boozier take on it😊and Heavenly.
Me too, south Georgia tapping in to second that! I'm originally from Massachusetts, so getting a full winter and fall up there definitely has had a little influence on developing my love for gourmand, spicy, smoky, musky, and sweet scents! Only scent profile I'm not a huge lover of is freshies, unless they have something woodsy or unique to boast to set them apart. Moving down here, I've had to hunt a little harder to find some more springy and summery scents that still check those boxes. I've definitely been eyeing Mohra and Mohra Silky Rose both, and you got me thinking about it again! Gunna have to scoop em up I think!❤

The sequel I've been waiting for! Welcome back! Casablanca is the Middle Eastern fragrance I own with the largest dent. I have the extrait version too, which has more vanilla in the base. Gorgeous! Mystique Bouquet is my current Spring obsession. It's sold out everywhere in Germany. I adore it. I own a sample of Valaya..it's really quite close. I'm not really into floral fragrances, but I think this is stunning. Go figure..🤷🏻♀️ Ajayeb Dubai Portrait is gorgeous, too. Another green mango fragrance I've been wearing is Lattafa Pride, Leen. I might like Leen a tik better than Portrait. Niche quality and a 10/10 for me. Have you tried it?

Ladies….you nailed it!!! Wow - I’m so thrilled. I just received my bottle of Bawadi this morning. Maison Lancome Oud Bouquet/Shaghaf Oud (I have both) are my signature scents. As soon as I heard you discuss Bawadi I was in! It has similarities to Oud Bouquet but with ‘extra’. I’m looking forward to seeing how this develops with age but for me it’s fabulous right now.
The Ajayeb bottle just looks like a mug of beer, I can't unsee it.
Mystic is a great dupe for Valaya if you like that scent profile! My favorites Middle Eastern perfumes are Ajayeb, Infini Rose, Affection and Musamam White Intense ❤

Ajayeb Dubai (the black bottle one) is still my favorite Middle Eastern fragrance I've tried so far. I can't get enough of it! I haven't bought the white one yet (featured in this video "Ajayeb Dubai Portrait") but I will soon. I've got so many fragrances on my "to-buy" list. My next purchases will be Leen by Lattafa, Khadlaj Flor Oud and Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud Tonka. Those will get ordered next week. I'm trying to limit myself to around $100/week in fragrances but I usually go over that budget. 😂😂

I read somewhere that after maceration, the woody dry down didn't bother one perfume fan anymore. I so want this to be OK on my skin. I usually love oud, especially cold oud and love woody notes, but something in this one made me feel bad. Perhaps I oversprayed ( I was too enthusiastic as I fell in love with the 🥭 mango note) this and the headache I was experiencing also did not help.

You are so lucky to have a friend like Val & can try all the muddkd eastern before buying. I've had a few duds & a few faves. I didn't like mystique bouquet very harsh to my nose. Mind you I'm not an orange blossom lover.

Nobody talks about the dry down of Ajayeb which can be very spicy and masculine on some skin… like mine! 😢
I want PDM Valaya really BAD; although I never smelled the OG, but I have the DUA version which is called Ethereal Bloom and it’s Gorgeous! I might need to get a decant first of the actual valaya fragrance just to make sure I like it As to the Dua brand.

Yup Ajayeb Dubai Portrait is giving super niche. I also have the black bottle… at first I didn’t like it due to the gasoline smell but the more I let it sit the more caramelly it got. And the gasoline smell is no longer there. It’s just a dark coffee vibe with woody notes and caramel

I had the same issue with the mango in Dubai Portrait losing the mango 🥭 and becoming a boring dry woody scent. I added a mango body butter last time, plus a few spritzes of Leen and it held up better. It's early days so we'll see.
I don't get Valaya from MB, other than in fhe opening. Had 10ml, wont bother with a FB.

Mystic bouquet was too musky for me. It resembles Erba Pura and it’s just not my cup of tea. I would love to tune down the musk and apt up the sweetness
Tengo desde hace unos 5 dias Ajayeb dubai portrait, de momento le falta fuerza, espero que mejore. Compré también Liam, y esté tenía más estela, bien una especie de fragancia de té con motas amaderadas y el tan nombrado Nebras, que realmente se lo compré para mi hija, tampoco me impacto para el revuelo con este perfume, no sé porqué me recuerda cuando alguien tiene mantas encima 6 horas y de repente abandona la habitación 😂.

@@mariacollettlife On me, imagine grilled pineapple with some saffron, vanilla, coffee and butterscotch. It has some sandalwood and green violet leaves too.
I ordered the portrait but the black one was sent accidentally. It’s super masculine (deep, spicy, sweet) to me but I’m going to let it sit and try it in the winter because I do like masculine scents. I need to try portrait still.
Don’t blind buy Dubai Portrait! It’s soooo green & oudy. I’m not sure why certain perfume influencers are pushing this one, but definitely don’t blind buy. Actually read the reviews first!
Agreed! Thank goodness I bought a decant. I do like it, but I'm not sure if I want a full bottle. I was in love with the opening. That mango was delicious! I just wish it stayed throughout the dry down, but I mostly got the oud. Which normally I don't mind, but I really wanted more of the mango.

Ugh agree! I bought it as I was influenced on YT as well and it is just way too oud-y for my liking, I couldn’t stand it lol.
Unfortunately I did blind buy it, because everybodu was so positive about it. When I have received it, I was so disappointed because it is just too woody oudy for me.. i just let it macerate some more for now and then maybe with layering I will like it..

So Mystique Bouquet is 60% Valaya, 30% fleur narcotique and 10% Delina La Rosée… to my nose. I compared it to Valaya and it’s not 100% the same IMO

Would it interest you two to maybe do a video about the Oud scents in your collections? What fragrances would be nice for newbs and pros, with maybe an increading Oud meter? And could you maybe explain why Oud Mood by Lattafa is so often referenced as "the one to start with"? Your perspectives as ppl who likely did not grow up around scents like these is very interesting to me.

This is an absolute dupe Valaya The only thing I could find it was different is that it seems a bit more citrusy on the mystique bouquet. It does stay on the skin for quite some time.

I bought a few middle eastern fragrances recently and is it just me or they don’t last on skin? My latest are Mohra Silky Rose and Pistachio Kahir, no longevity on me 😢

Val here - I would go for Chants Tenderina by Maison Alhambra, a stunning dupe of Chance Eau Tendre by Chanel. It’s a very pretty “pink” smelling spring floral with citrus notes and it’s extremely affordable 💖🌸
