On Wednesday 13th, I was lucky enough to get on a Zoom call with infamous WEDNESDAY 13 and talked about the come-up of the Murderdolls and the attention the band got from Slipknot's drummer Joey being unmasked. Simultaneously, Corey Taylor was starting up Stonesour, who also got the same amount of media attention, being that both Slipknot members Joey and Corey were in side projects unmasked.
Wednesday 13 is in the middle of a world tour performing MURDERDOLLS tracks in honour and celebration of the late Joey, former band member and former drummer for Slipknot. They will be touring Australia in February.
For the first time in well over a decade, Murderdolls' frontman and songwriter, Wednesday 13, will resurrect his songs from the twisted depths of their dual album discography and unleash an unforgettable set when they descend on Australia, breathing fire into the raucous anthems that have defined an entire subculture.
“After 21 years since its release, and the recent sad and premature passing of Joey, it only feels right to go out and celebrate these songs. We made two amazing albums that I was very proud of, and unfortunately, much of the world didn’t get a chance to hear the songs live. In 2018, we all got together at Joey’s house and discussed plans and possibilities for the future, but we both had other immediate plans, We will be performing tracks from both MURDERDOLLS albums on this upcoming tour and celebrating the legacy of the band.” - Wednesday 13

sorry to say that slipknot’s slipknot no more.. but at least we have wednesday13 who still shines joey’s light. they were such a perfect match that I keep on watching their fun stuff on youtube whenever I feel down (wishing there was much more of them). wednesday13 is like a ‘gift’ to us from joey, I would call it. a familiar soul to ours. with his passion for music he reflects back on us that special ‘joey-related’ energy. joey’s not gone; he’s living in us. and that’s a kind of life that will never end! a black light shining like a star 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
