Amazing video and great insight... I think the next thing you should do is fan vs artist. Its an interesting concept and you will find 5sos, Niall, Louis and Liam and many more...
Pls react to Niall hosting Jimmy Kimmel. Him interviewing lizzo and also his interviews with anne-marie. Their dynamic is amazing:))
Yeah I like it longer
“michael, i think he’s got some demons” *war flashbacks to jet black heart*
literally
literally the first thing that came to my mind
EVERYBODY'S GOT THEIR DEMONS
YES OMG
that was the first thing i thought of lol
If you watch their carpool karabloke you’ll see Luke come out of his shell a lot more and really take the lead in the group!
He totally should watch it!
yes he’s so loud and funny there but copyright would probably be tricky with all the songs
oh yeeees
And "spilling the quarantea"
yesssss i was just about to comment this
Ashton is the one who really thinks the most about the band i think. Like he's definitely the light in interviews by making jokes and keeping the band happy. but he's also the most serious. he really cares about how the band is perceived. He wants the band to be expressive and he wants the public to look at them for their talent rather than their looks. i love one direction but they were highly marketed to appeal to teenage girls and very sexualized, even by their own fan base. but ashton really does not want that for 5sos. he wants 5sos to be seen as expressive and creative and be known for their musical talent. (these are my opinions)
Well I'm sure even 1D didn't want that either it was their shit management
@@hadeelmaiklson5402 obviously they dint want it. I said they were marketed that way. And because of that most fans think it's perfectly alright to do it too. So many fans sexualise the boys on an extreme level.
@@gunjanagrawal2297 yeah and it's very awful
@@hadeelmaiklson5402 agree with the original post and yours, well said. And I think the 1D boys tried their best not to fit in that stereotype that management (or better say label) were trying to put on them. I remember them defending the male fans, especially at the concerts they gave them a shoutout, it was really cool and if they didn't take a break, I think within a few more years they'd break that ""a band for teens" stereotype. Now they do it the other way :)
I's kinda starting to like 5SOS a lot, never thought there will be so many great artists out there when I first clicked on Niall's Black and White video that poped up randomly (that's I knew them all).
I feel he's just full of himself
when he says michael is the loudest at 2:52, ashton’s voice popped into my head:
“michael, you are yelLING”
wheres that quote from
Me too lmao
It’s funny he put niall horan with 5sos because NIALL LOVED THEM
Niall the unofficial member of 5SOS😂😂
@@nurulizzahfauzi yes I would think he would of been with HES band mates but nope always with 5sos HAHA

don’t worry, we’re all in love with ashton
k thank goodness
He was definitely my childhood crush
Michael is definitely the loudest, he tends to yell a lot but he also has a natural loud voice so when he speaks you listen. He's a lot calmer now tho!
Completely agree with you on Luke, he really has a calm (no pun intended lol) confidence!
Ashton is a born leader and has that natural way of make people laugh and a light sense of humour and sarcasm but he's also the most serious when it comes to responsability!
Calum is 100% an introvert, pretty quiet, self-aware but he's really come out of his shell, he's a goofball. Yes, Cal has so much energy on stage.
I agree, I feel like both Calum and Luke don't like being the center of attention. I think Michael is okay with it and Ashton just doesn't care.
I'm impressed, you really nailed all of their personnalities. Also, I love that you've picked up instantly on their strong friendship. They've all been best friends for 10 years now. Calum and Ashton's friendship is the most noticeable to me, like Ashton always makes Calum laugh.
They all have been struggling with mental health, but I think mostly Michael (they've also publicly spoken about it, on their UA-cam channel there are videos where Ashton speaks to each member about it), that's probably why he seemed "absent" to you.
ua-cam.com/video/kSPIe7Xrr1o/v-deo.html : Ashton is the person most likely to get the band INTO trouble but also OUT of trouble, which is very interesting!
Wait, did you not notice Calum had his dog with him?
PS: CALM is the title on their last album that's why I said no pun intended!
Aussie Slang still remains one of my favorite interviews to this day.
Also, Michael streams on Twitch!
Love it! Thanks for the breakdown Morgane. It's interesting to hear fans perspectives of the guys. And no, I didn't notice Calum's dog! haha
@@maxpbeaumont You're welcome! Happy to share my knowledge of the band with other people!
Oh no what a shame haha The dog's name is Duke and he's a cutie
i never have really viewed any of them as the leader of the group unless it's Luke being the lead singer (and that's in terms of music), so Michael never crossed my mind as that, but I will not and cannot deny how he *is* indeed louder than the others lol. But Luke definitely seems really shy and I noticed that, but was surprised that he was when I first got into it all.
Also , Ashton is older amongst them , Seema like an older brother .
I think 5SOS' "Carpool Karabloke" is where you get to see a lot of Luke's personality really shine!
Ashton is literally Luke's biggest supporter. I recall them living together and nurturing each other out of a dark place, how Ashton told Luke once in an interview that he 'wished Luke had more confidence.' He always makes sure Luke is feeling good about himself, and maybe he tells one of his sarcastic jokes and makes fun of him from time to time, but other than that *he praises Luke so much,* seeing how much Luke changed over the years and how the lads (esp Ashton) was a part of that is such a beautiful thing to withhold. 🥺
Yes! And I remember multiple times Ashton has said Luke is like a little brother to him!🥺❤️
@@avahodge2438 thats just always so cute sweet and nice i'm gonna cry😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🤧🤧🤧🤧
In a qna he did on insta before or after (can't remember) Ashton's release of his solo album single, there was a question on him being at one of Lukes concerts recently. He said he was screamin and singing loudly, and the people around him in the crowd kept glaring at him. He truly is his biggest supporter.
“people watching this are gonna be like “man you are in love with Ashton over here””, I mean.. aren’t we all?
Lmao, fact.
@@lauriane5sos Your username is goals
Ashton being the ✨wordsmith of sorts✨ he is
Lmao
Ashton definitely is the momager in the group, he is also the one who speaks the most in interviews and calum is the one who doesn't speak that much but when he does everybody pays attention to him.
I suggest you to watch the interviews with Zach sang, you can clearly see their interaction as a group is more like a family interaction.
Like in a more serious setting Ashton and Luke take the lead but when they’re just playing around Michael will take the lead and Calum too sometimes but I feel Calum is the most quiet
To be fair, I think Luke just wasn't as engaging and talkative in the tattoo video because he didn't have any at the time and couldn't really participate in what the topic of the interview was.
That’s a good point.
Fun fact: I don’t know if someone told you already but Louis Tomlinson (from 1D) was the one who “discovered” them. He tweeted back in 2012 and I quote “Been a fan of this band for a while, everyone get behind them” and linked a video of them singing. Then next year they opened for 1D on tour which is how they first gained fame!
I just thought it’d be interesting for you to know that since you reacted to both One Direction (and solo Louis) and 5sos now!
And let me tell you, Louis has a great ear for music and he loves discovering new talent. I mean look at 5sos! They’re absolutely smashing it.
He should continue that artist management thing i think he got a talent for it.
@@ira_1991 he’s starting his own management company eventually! he announced it earlier this year :)
luke was definitely very insecure and introverted when he was younger and you can see that in their earlier videos as a band, but in 2018 he really broke out of his shell and grew in confidence a lot
The reason they are still together, they all support eachother
i think if we're comparing on WHY they're listening to each other more, it's probably cause they were already friends so the friendship was genuine since day one. Not saying other groups aren't genuine friends, cause there are many groups that are formed and build friendship, but since they were friends first before fame, it helped a lot with how much they are close to each other.
On stage, Luke is very much the frontman and his charisma is off the charts but offstage(during interviews), he doesn't bask in the light as much...he also presents differently when it's just them or their crew and with interviewers
"ashton is the light of the group, he's that glue"
you're not wrong! without ashton, 5sos wouldn't exist on a professional level! ashton was the final member of 5sos, and he's the drummer. he was always the one who was pushing them, and he's also the oldest member, who was almost "taking care" of all of them!
Oh definitely. I've watched tons of their interviews, and Ash definitely leads this incredible group in terms of communication and representation. But they all have distinct and amazing personalities that add up to them being a group.
So happy you reacted to this!! You're right that Calum is more reserved. In the 5SOS book (Hey, Let's Make A Band!) he describes himself as shy, writing: "My mum told me recently, 'When you were younger, doing your football trials, me and your dad said: "For every person that you go up to and say, 'Hello, my name is Calum,' we'll give you $2.50."' Apparently I only made $2.50. I didn't want to talk to anyone."
Ashton is very deadpan, very chilled out but he’s also the most hilarious. He was nicknamed the “dad” of the band when they first started all those years ago, and it still kind of shines even now. He encourages everyone to come out of their shell and in turn they provide fodder for Ashton’s jokes
When he said Michael has his demon, my head automatically plays jet black heart when Michael says "everybody's got their demons-"
you were quite spon on with ashton, he's definitely the most extroverted, he's super well spoken and he's always been the one who speaks the most, i was watching one of their old interviews from 2014 and the interview was super boring and awkward and whenever they got questions that they didn't know how to answer they would always look at ashton and he would take over, also his sense of humor is just top tier lmao but honestly they're all really funny
luke i would say was way more quiet back in the day and he had this cute endearing awkwardness about him, but over the years i would definitely say his confidence has skyrocketed, at first you said that ashton reminded you of niall but i would definitely say luke reminds me of niall more in terms of that "i just want to have a good time" attitude, maybe these 2 interviews didn't show luke's personality as much
michael i would say is super interesting i feel like michael goes from being the loudest to being the most quiet, i guess it just depends on the environment, some people say that he's maybe toned down a little more throughout the years but i don't necessarily think so i get where they're coming from tho, but i feel like he's just super loud one day and a little more chill the next
calum has always been the most quiet, he described himself before as "chill and lowkey" and i definitely agree although he's definitely more outgoing when he's comfortable, and i LOVE his sense of humor, (i kinda ran out of adjectives but you get the idea lol) also i would say they're all comfortable being the center of attention on their own
So if you compare them to One Direction, Calum is maybe like Zayn? The one who mostly sits there and listens?
YESSSSS completely agree with everything you said, I feel like Ashton makes the other guys more comfortable as well.
@@sannev8407 kinda? but zayn also has anxiety and doesn't like the attention, while calum i feel like he's just more chill than the other guys but isn't necessarily anxious yk? he's just naturally more quiet and reserved at times especially if interviewers don't ask him questions, but when it's a lighthearted conversation he always contributes
@@miral.ak_ Yeah that's true. Anxiety is a completely different thing of course. I agree
Before I became a fan, I thought Luke was the leader because he's the lead singer and the one I knew of the most. But after I became a fan, I got to know their personalities more and then realized that the leader is definitely Ashton.
He left the video in love with ashton LOL can't blame him 😂❤
I like how he keeps saying Michael is loud and wants to be centre of attention when he used to be the opposite
Loving this longer style video, allows you to get to know them better and I think it's interesting how people's communication styles can change depending on what kind of setting they're in or who they are speaking to/with. I've watched quite a few interviews with them but never really thought about who was the leader in their group before, liked how you kinda compared their roles in the group to other similar bands like 1D. Looking forward to you checking out Tyler Joseph or Josh Dun from twenty one pilots in a future video.
Right on! I’ve heard a lot about Tyler Joseph and Twenty One Pilots. Do you think it would be better to react to the whole group or just Tyler?
@@maxpbeaumont please react to twenty one pilots as a band, their dynamic is great !
@@maxpbeaumont 2 guys in the band, Tyler and Josh, could be cool to do one interview with just Tyler and then one with both of them
@@BeeKnown okay thank you 🙏
“Luke seems more like a serious guy.” 💀💀 sure
michael can be rlly loud in fun/comfortable enviorments, he sometimes cuts off (unintentionally) the others when he knows he’s probably the one who will give the better answer (? in a way. His last stream with the boys rlly shows how he was comfortable being loud and expressing his opinion because it was HIS twitch stream and he was with his friends. i dont know if this makes sense, but i love when he acts that way, cause it feels much more like his true self. He loves to be the center of attention when in fun enviroments, but when it comes to more serious stuff, he definitely holds back and prefers to dodge those moments with his silence.
I’ve been with these boys since late 2013 & growing up with them has been so interesting! as a whole, they definitely lean towards being introverted, despite some of the members being a little more extroverted! in interviews, they are really careful about what they say after some not-so-great interviews when they were teenagers & less guarded/filtered. that’s why you see them being so much more themselves when it’s just the four of them.
but like you said- ashton is their extrovert. ashton has this way of making you laugh at the stupidest shit, but then turning around & dropping profound wisdom & this kind of unexpected philosophical discourse in the same breath. he’s definitely the “leader” in a lot of ways. like the ultimate older brother. he will take over answering any questions the boys aren’t comfortable with, but he will also encourage them to answer questions he knows they have good answers to. he writes A LOT of music & is genuinely open with us.
it was funny to watch you call michael the more dominant or leader type there at the very beginning. when they were much younger, michael played this punky loudmouth artistic type, but as he’s aged he’s settled down quite a bit. he’s also been very open about his mental health struggles, specifically anxiety & depression. you said he seems like he “has demons” & many of the songs he works on include either a metaphor eluding to them or literally calling them demons. but he also streams!!! it takes a lot of energy for him to stream, he has been open about that too, but he definitely lets his good natured (goofy?) personality come out. I might be a liiiiittle biased bc mikey is perhaps my favourite human ever, but I digress.
LUKE- you honestly kinda hit spot on?? he’s very introverted until he’s on stage! he is the baby of the group, the youngest. in interviews, you can watch him answer his questions by looking at ash instead of the interviewer like 99% of the time. watching him grow up, it’s clear he learned a lot from the other guys, like he was always observing how they handled things & took that to heart. he has been pretty private with his personal life & keeps things close to his chest. but on stage it’s clear he was made to be a performer! he is charismatic & gets a lot of energy from the crowd & fans. oh & he has like four tattoos now since that interview. lol
calum. column. calcium. cool guy cal. c-dizzle-swizzle. cal pal. an absolute clown & one of the quietest guys around. but when he speaks up? hilarious. he also has top tier facial expressions- he can make people laugh just by pulling a sarcastic face without having to actually voice how he feels about what’s just been said. for a few years there, he would maybe speak up once or twice in an interview, otherwise he’d just sit & listen to the guys answer questions. but cal is also the kind of guy you would call to pick you up in an emergency. during quarantine he picked up groceries & left them at the guys doorsteps. he even got mikey his favourite frosted animal crackers. he is a genuinely good person & friend & gives off a very warm energy.
honestly- I’m really glad I found your channel!!! it’s nice to see someone look at people objectively. & it’s refreshing to see different personality types talked about in a judgement free way- not necessarily saying one way is right or better than another. they’ve been misunderstood many times & it’s something that has definitely shaped how they behave publicly. so thank you for taking the time & really listening to them. 🤍
Hey! Can you lmk the less guarded interviews if you remember? I haven’t watched their 2013 interviews since then and am nostalgic af after reading your comment 💓
I love the way you described Calum. It’s so accurate not that your other descriptions weren’t accurate tho :) sometimes I just feel like Calum is misunderstood by the fans.
Very well said! You really described them all so, so well. It's quite impressive tbh
No one, in my 25 years, has made me laugh the way Ashton Irwin has.
i feel like calum is always very comfortable and confident, he doesn’t feel the need to talk because he knows where he stands, but like you said he will say something when he wants to
Yes!
I’ve always said that they stick Ashton behind the drum kit because the world couldn’t handle him as a frontman. 😅
It does look like Luke's a bit hesitant in interviews and is a serious guy but in reality he is so fun-loving. Its just that he has his own phases.
Luke is very laid back. the most open about deep things i'd say but at the same time quite private about personal life. does not mind taking charge if needed. loves being in the band and loves the boys. luke has had to deal with a lot with being in a toxic relationship a while ago and stuff. he's really self conscious i think but also having the boys there with him helps him a lot.
Calum i haven't been able to judge a lot tbh, but i think like you said, will speak when he wants to and does not feel the need to be speaking all the time. But loves a good time. (these are all my opinions, pls don't come at me)
I just want a second to talk specifically about all of their bonds, and how each of them respect each other in other ways.
Ashton and Calum have always stood out to me, since Ashton is always there to make Calum laugh. He makes jokes a lot and a lot of the time looks at Calum, maybe to help give him a chance to talk, or really just have fun.
Michael and Calum are super super close, they have quite a bromance, if you will. They’ve been friends for the longest, over 10 years now (it’s been since like primary school?) so it doesn’t surprise me that people realize they’re close so soon. They really understand each other, they’re always there to support each other and it’s beautiful to see. Back in 2015, (maybe 2014?) they were doing a show with these flames thingys on stage that blew flames every once and while, but nothing had happened since they were all aware of where they were. Michael wasn’t really paying attention and happened to get burned pretty badly in the face, and ran backstage. Calum had apparently gotten burned on his arm seconds before Michael, but was still there to support him and ignored his pain to comfort Michael. One other thing- Michael chose Calum as his best man for his upcoming wedding, since they’ve been friends the longest and have such a close bond.
Michael and Ashton have such a friendly banter kind of friendship, though they’ve never really been the closest. I honestly don’t have much to say about them except that they respect each other sm and it’s super cool.
Luke and Calum have always been pretty close, and I feel like they understand each other so well because of their similar positions in the band socially. They’ve always been the more introverted ones, and they get each other cause of that. Not only that, but they both look up to the other and respect them sm, like in 2013 Calum talked about how Mike and Luke were enemies in 7th grade but Calum thought Luke was a really cool guy.
Luke and Michael tease each other so much, but I genuinely think they’re platonic soulmates. The way they went from enemies in 7th grade to the closest friendship you’ve ever seen in 8th is just amazing. They can take jokes well and know when to stop, so they make fun of each other a lot. In 2016 Luke was in a terrible mental state and was really depressed, but Michael was always there for him to make him smile and laugh, dialed down the banter a bit, and even shaded Luke’s ex for him. One of my fav friendships tbh.
But my favorite friendship of all, Lashton. Luke and Ashton definitely have the closest bond of all of the boys combined. They met when Luke was getting teased a bit for these green glasses he had, and Ashton immediately stood up for him and complimented his glasses. Ever since, they’ve been each other’s biggest supporters. Ashton says that Luke is maybe his favorite pop vocalist ever, and whenever Luke feels insecure about his voice he brings him up and supports him. He was also there in 2016 to support Luke, and always checked up on him to make sure he was ok. Luke on the other hand, is there for Ashton mentally a lot. Ash grew up without the support of a father and a mother that was always working to support them financially. He has two little siblings, so even at an early age he had to be like a father. It messed with his mental health later on in life and he was even suicidal at one point. There was a time when an interviewer asked “What’s the best advice your dad has ever given to you?” And Ashton started to tear up and get red and tried to answer it. Luke kind of just put his hand on Ashton’s thigh and took the lead instead, cutting him off whenever he tried to speak. They support, love, and respect each other so much and I honestly love their friendship sm :,)
That's so astute! A few facts about Luke - he recently released a solo album (while staying in the group, Ashton did this a year ago too). This album is very introspective and almost like a therapy record. Some songs are hard to hear because of how deep and personal they are. All you said about him falls into the picture perfectly. And second, more random one - Luke's voice sounds a bit like Zayn's in a few songs there, I couldn't help but notice those similarities and now you make same references - this is kinda scary))
I'm not even a fan, but thanks to Luke's solo work (which everyone should check out cuz it's amazing!) I'm getting to know this band now. These guys seem to be very nice and genuine and fun to be around. No wonder they and 1D got along so well and toured together for a couple of years, I think their group dynamics are very similar, mostly because of their authenticity. Nobody is putting on a show for the camera, nobody is trying to dominate the space, it's really nice to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed this video))
i feel like in every interview or in every performance there’s always a new “leader” depending on the boys' moods, ashton yes does have a very strong personality and he does spark every time he speaks, same with michael, though he can be quiet at times, when he does speak, he really takes over and grabs everyone’s attention..
I loved this! Michael is..its hard to explain, but you're definitely right about most things about him. He has had some problems with inner demons and mental health issues and stuff. he's really introvert but does not hold back when he feels comfortable. he does not speak a lot in serious interviews, I don't think he likes being very open about the deep stuff. But if its fun time, he's definitely the loudest. Obviously these are all just my observations.
Crazy interesting to hear this analysis from someone who hasn't seen the band interact before. I've probably watched 10+ hours of interviews, livestreams, concerts etc so I feel like I know them like I know my own friends -- even though that's impossible. They work well as a band because they are all both extroverted and introverted, and on days when one person is too tired to speak up the others will take over for them. They've spent about eight years in each other's space at this point so they're beyond comfortable together. It was awesome to see you pick up on that and get joy from it like we do!
First of all, thank you for doing this!!
As a fan, what you said about them are mostly correct! About how introvert Luke and Calum are, how extrovert Michael and Ashton are. Ashton is definitely the light of the group. With even the little humour of his. Calum had mentioned about this, "I can't ever be sad around Ashton" and that's a fact. Michael is just the cutest and you're right, he's a loud guy in the group. Luke is introvert, like you said the way he didn't look directly to the camera on the 1st video. Calum is the same. But he's indeed looking directly to the camera. Overall, in my opinion, all of them are care about each other. Listening to each other and never cut them out when they're speaking. They indeed have a great communication skills.
Can you please do a reaction and analysis on the band Why Don't We? I'd love to see it, actually. Once again, thanks so much:)
I agree with you, Ashton is the sweetest, he is never uncomfortable with fans and always tries to make them feel listened and loved, I really love Ashton bc he got so far after all he has gone through
you analysed them really well! Love this band since 2013 and I‘ve always had an extra portion of appreciation for Ashton.
He‘s the kinda guy who reads your tweet about missing your train home after the concert and walks out of the tour bus with a cup of coffee to talk to you and ask you about *your* life (because that’s what he did!). He holds the band together and I think often times he doesn’t get the appreciation he deserves! Glad to see you see through that
the amount of times he made album title puns without knowing it
It was the demons comment wasn’t it
@@maxpbeaumont their latest album is actually called CALM and you said that like 5 times and you said "feels good" they've got an album called Sounds Good Feels Good PLUS Michael has lyrics that say "everybody's got their demons". love this hope you react to more, all of their interviews are so funny!
Mate this is so on point. As a 5sos fan who watched them for a long time now I know how they tend to be, but it was very interesting and eye opening as well seeing you point them out and explain. Gives me a better understanding of how the band communications function. 👍
Also 13:48 is completely true
YES I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Every time he calls them calm I absolutely crack up. Thinking of these boys as calm and collected makes me laugh.
I think this is pretty accurate, their relationship as a group is kinda complex because they've been like brothers since middle school, it has a lot of layers. But you can definitely always see how much they love and support each other.
Michael is quite loud (he just has a loud talking voice lmao) but he can also be quite shy at times, Luke is definitely the one that comes off as the most quiet and shy (in recent years he's come out of his little shell a lot tho) and he kinda always needs constant reassurance, Calum is the "quiet but funny" type (he's got a real charm about him and everyone really loves him) and as for Ashton, I would definitely say he's the "leader" of the group, because of his childhood he had to grow up really fast and start being a father to his little siblings at a young age, this shows a lot in his dynamic with the boys. He was the oldest and last one to join the band, and he really was the one who pushed them to stop fooling around and take music seriously.
He is ALWAYS there for them to cheer them up and talk for them, but they also support him when he's going through a rough patch.
Over all, their dynamic is one of the best ones I've seen because they weren't just thrown together in a group, they chose to be one, and I think that's what makes their bond so strong.
as someone who's been a fan of 5sos since 2014....you definitely got all of their personalities pretty spot on!!!
Ashton is the most well rounded in the group
And their was an old 5sos interview where they guys actually told him that
yesss, thank you for making this video. I have to go to school now, so im gonna watch it when I get home and I can't wait
Have a good day!
I think that one thing that helped improve the connection here is that they were friends since little kids on the school, they really knew each other and like each other, different from 1D for example, i'm not saying that they don't like each other but they were strangers that were put together out of nowhere, and 5sos are long term friends that decided to start a band
The only time i've seen luke be the "leader" was in the carpool karabloke probably because ashton was sitting on his phone in the back the whole time lol
you could say that ashton ...... is a wordsmith of sorts 😂
AAAAH IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS ONE!!
Yes! Let me know what you think :)
actually, it would’ve been great for you to react to “5 seconds of summer - carpool karabloke” !! it’s just four of them, driving, having fun and in their element
Love that you pointed out their undeniable bond~ I adore this band so much
As a fan who knows 5sos and their personalities, it's interesting to see how accurate those descriptions were. Loved this video and hope you do more of their interviews.
everyone is a simp for ashton: confirmed
I’m currently studying about body language and communication, and I’ve been a 5sos fan since 2015, so this was the perfect thing to watch!
That’s so cool!
there’s been a joke that’s carried throughout their career that ashton is the “daddy” of the band, both because he’s the oldest and also because he tends to be the bands anchor in interviews and things like that. he’s kind of the most extroverted of the group and in interviews where you can tell that some of the others may be not feeling it, you can see ashton picking up the slack and keeping the energy up so that the others don’t have to push themselves
As an Aussie, their personalities and interactions feel really influenced by them being Australian. The interact so casually and shit talk each other and are slightly introverted. It's completely a 'boys' vibe that I would see in so many of my friends
“Michael is the loudest” welp can’t argue with that one
That's also the vibe I've always got from Ashton, if you have to compare them to 1D, he is like Niall. The easy going friendly guy you would go to a pub with. Calum in the zoom interview is a bit like me, it's easier for him I think to come out of his shell behind a computer screen because it's less direct and you don't have to look directly into the camera
It's amazing how much you can know about a person just from the way they act. There are some things I wouldn't even notice if you didn't point them out.
You should watch the videos of Ashton interviewing Luke and Calum, I think it show how close they are with each other and how much they listen to each other
I REALLY LIKE THIS ONE OMG, THANK YOU!
You should react to videos like "No one hates 5sos more that Luke Hemmings." Or "No one hate Luke Hemmings more than 5sos." Then you'll be able to see morenof Luke being himself lol
I would really recommend watching their carpool karaoke and their thirst tweet video. I feel like both of those really show off separate aspects of their personalities
I will say this stuff as a fan. If you watch any interview where someone is actively asking questions, Ashton will answer almost all the questions. He seems to be the more extroverted of the group. He does try to keep the mood lighter by making humourous comments when he can. Calum will almost never say anything unless called upon. However, when it's a group video, that's when you see Calum seems to be extroverted. He and Luke seem to be introverted people unless around the right people. Luke will talk about their music nonstop. Like with Carpool Karabloke, Luke took the lead, but that's because it's a subject he likes to talk about. Michael will like to make fun of the guys, and in the beginning, maybe a little bit of the leader. But, maybe not so much now. I don't think any of them really like doing the interviews. They like performing. When they're on stage, they are completely different. They are very engaging and excited to be there. At this point in life, they all seem to know the boundaries of each other. They know what will make each other laugh, they know what they can "pick on" each other, and they know where the lines are. They genuinely like each other's company, and I believe they will be around for a long time.
I recently started watching another reactor for 5sos and they also immediately picked up on Ashton being the 'glue' of the group. They also labelled the other members as the following and as a fan I do agree. Michael = the energy (definitely on stage), Luke = the frontman, Calum = the calm.
can you tell me what video was it?
@@miral.ak_ The reactor is Michael Beveraggi. The specific video I'm referring to is his reaction on the 5sos documentary "How did we end up here" which is patreon exclusive.
@@jinnimoo thank you
Ikr Asthon's awesome man, so dope
1:15 Michael might be the leader in the interviews
I was like "wait for it"
It's truly to see someone analyze these guys with no outside knowledge and be pretty on point with most of the assumptions. Found myself thinking "Oh man this dude's good." Several times
love these guys so much 💚 my favorite is ashton followed by luke, luke is definitely not as timid as you think, he's not as out going as ashton but he's just a really fun person overall. loved this reaction can't wait for more 5sos videos 💚
you know it's funny how I always see Michael and Ash as extroverts and calum as an introvert, but I could never place luke, bc he can be very loud and goofy but he is also intelligent and introspective, maybe he's a bit of both
I've been waiting for this reaction for a while now. Please do more 5sos
Finally! I’ve been waiting for this for a long time! Thanks you actually guessed them pretty good, even though it’s not a guessing but u know...! Thank you!
My pleasure!
I'd love to see more reactions to 5sos.
You should really watch cocktail chats. They talk about their music while getting drunk and it's so funny seeing them really comming out of their shells.😁
Max: I feel like michaels got some demons
Me: JET BLACK HEART
I think Max is and Ashton boyyy
i feel like a lot of your observations on ashton and his role within the group can be explained by the fact that he's a year or two older than the rest of the band and at the time they started they were young enough (15-17) that that was a big difference. he also has two younger siblings so i think he kind of naturally took the role of older brother within the band.
I need a part 2 omg
I don't follow them actively, like I might have 2 or 3 songs by them on my playlist, but I love their personalities a lot from the few things I've seen from them. I must admit I have a soft spot for Michael, but they all seem really cool.
I'm so happy you reacted to 5sos. Their communication skills are so interesting to look at.
I loved this video! Can you please react to their Carpool Karabloke? They all are so comfortable and in a chill setting there and it really brings out their personalities
theres nothing wrong in falling in love in ashton, we all did that bro 🧍♀️
When he said Michael is the loudest, suddenly "Michael you're yelling" came to my mind
Baby imma let ya know now in my 2 minutes of this video… THEY ALL LEAD! Their shy babies sometimes and sometimes their loud as helll! They get loud and funny with each other
oh i remember ashton's "It's a chocolate milk party" funny guy!
I'm so glad UA-cam recommended me this video because I've been super fascinated with the dynamic 5sos have. I'm both a 1D and 5SOS fan and so obviously you compare at times. The biggest thing I noticed was the way 5SOS always pay attention to each other and encourage each other. I'm impressed with how much you got them from just 2 videos. Ashton is most definitely the leader but I'd say Michael can be a leader at times. I think in terms of making music Michael really takes a lead. Luke is definitely the introvert Calum is sort of introverted but if he's in a comfortable situation he can be a jokester and he comes out of his shell more. Michael definitely has had his struggles but really they all did actually. A good point to make regarding the Aussie slang video. This was recorded in the early months of the pandemic. So that may explain why Michael is a bit more held back here. While Ashton is definitely a jokester and a light among the group he's also had interviews where he seems angry or irritated. One that comes to mind is an interview with heatworld from 2019 where they answer stan questions. I'd like to see what you have to say about that one. I see a lot of people suggest carpool karabloke which is definitely a good video to watch and also their spilling the quarantea video. But that's quite a long video.
i loved watching this. i can't wait to see what else you have to say about them! this is my favorite band of all time! some good videos to watch:
- zach sang show interviews
- carpool karabloke
- qny of their tour diaries
- elvis duran interviews
- 5sos quarantea live stream
I love that you love Ashton.
I love watching their interviews, because they aren't afraid to be themselves around each other. one of the reason I got into the band was because of their personalities in interviews. All of them are charming and hilarious.
Also when you said Michael might have demons I legit thought of "everybody got their demon. Either wide awake or dreaming." (Lyrics from "Jet Black Heart")
loved the video!! this guys are amazing and so comforting to listen to.
i would love to watch you react to more videos of them! maybe some on where you can see luke getting out of his shell a bit more :)
5:52 "he's got some demons" right on point
They literally are my comfort and favorite people, looooved this video!!
This was such a good analysis. I am not an analyst but that's exactly how i see the guys
