GitHub copilot for Xcode is not that bad. I tried and it’s way better than the 3rd party solution and apples own model. It helps to write way much faster, at least in my case
App intents has been around for years. No one I know has used them yet for commercial apps… weird. The new Xcode predictive AI is worse than simple auto complete.
One critical con to a startup that lacks discipline? A whole bunch of technical debt that builds up because you want to get an MVP out the door and don't care about the development process. You may never ever catch up on retiring that debt, or it may become prohibitively expensive to do so, and that will lead to problems down the road. Big companies get big (and live long lives) for a reason - they develop discipline, and that doesn't mean taking the "fun" out of work. I mean, FFS - some time you gotta grow up and stop being a teenager.
Uuugh stop with the misuse of the word ‘woke’ uugh. Don’t pollute the comment section with this talk. Politics existed way before ppl started misusing this word. Uugh. Stop ✋
I can't imagine adding another layer of complexity to Xcode will result in joy.
I guess we'll see...

Curious to see how this all plays out over the next year, and how each of the options improves.
Whats the 3rd party solution youre talking about? The official Github Copilot extension is directly based on the most popular 3rd party solution.
Love it Sean! Thanks for the news!
Thanks for watching, Jeremiah!
Hi Sean. Can't find the Chris Eidhof YT you showed on YT Swift Animations. Please give me the YT link. Thanks, Lex

ua-cam.com/video/mzpZNaseAIE/v-deo.html
It's unlisted so it can't be found by searching, but I did some digging: ua-cam.com/video/mzpZNaseAIE/v-deo.html
I could not find the Chris Eidhof video, could you put it on description please? Thank you :)
I found it! I saw your answer on the other comment! thank you
@seanallen Where is the link to Chris Eidhof video. I searched and don't get results that match what is on your screen,
Check the Swift News GitHub Repo for all links for every episode. Link in the for that.
Chris's video is "unlisted" unless you share the link please..
I keep all links to each episode of Swift News in the GitHub repo (which is linked in the description). You can find it there.
I tried several AI coders. I turned them off. I type around 90w/s when coding, editing the AI coders was way slower and annoying.
I feel this
@@seanallen Surely we all just need to upgrade our hardware ;)
Thanks Sean 👏

Yeah, i never really touched App Intents either. But they will be a big deal in the future.
@ indeed. Let’s see what the future holds. Though not sure what all intents would make sense for Instagram and UA-cam. 🤔
I think apps that use Widgets probably use App Intents a lot.
@ I’ve implemented in widgets on two commercial apps and we never used intents. We used urls to simply send actions to the app from the widget.
@@petersuvara How do you expose your widget actions to Shortcuts and the system Search?
links?
they are in the Swift News github repo every episode. Link to that is in the description.
@@seanallen thanks!

use codeium dude.
Hadn't heard of it. Just had to google it to check it out.
Let me translate what Sean wanted to say without getting himself cancelled:
Little to no bureaucracy or woke politics.
Unbearable woke politics.
