Everyone's reactions to this have been so different. Jenn broke into tears. Mortius needed his emotional support puppy. Casper was furious, stormed off screen, and was ready to rage-DM Jorge. Peter was vibing to the cello. 🤣
I see a lot of reactors say that Polites must be very young and not have seen the horrors of life. He was a soldier in a 10 year long war. He would be at least 20 which is young by our standards but not for the greeks. And he saw years of war and bloodshed. Also yes Ody has seen loss in the war but this is the first man HE has lost. And it just so happens to be his best friend.
@ he had hundreds of sheeps, and he actually was interested in the wine. Polyphemus didn’t refuse the offer to spare them out of vengeance he did that out of being petty and greedy and wanting all options, just like his father.
@@djmewtwo6981I like to think I'm a pretty chill person and can act rationally... I'd still get an exterminator to clear out a nest if my dog died from a wasp sting.
YES YOU CAUGHT THE SURVIVE MOTIF!!!! Zeus sang in the Horse and the Infant “a vision of what is to come cannot be outrun can only be dealt with right here and now” and here in Survive Odysseus sings “my brothers the rest of our fleet they wait at the beach and if we’re defeated they’re good as dead” In both songs Odysseus is trying to survive a possible situation.
Odysseus is in great shock not only because of the death of a close friend, but because a) Polites was more than just a combat friend, he was a childhood bestfriend he grew up with. A brother. And b) in 10 years of war, as he mentioned in previous songs, Odysseus NEVER lost a soldier under his command. Polite was the very first of his 600 men to die. :C As for Polite's naivetyy, i think more than just being experienced, cuz he is not after 10 years of battle, is more of the excitement of being a civilian again. He is hopeful and longing to get back to life, to stop killing, maybe a bit too eager even. And i think that is what he tries to teach Odysseus, who is by this point already so heavy with guilt by the trojan horse idea coming from him as well as the death of the infant. Which makes him to me such great character and example of emotional maturity, in a way. I believe its also why we are shown him being idspleased to join the cyclops fight and trowing his sword to odyseus or away, he is tired of fighting. He wants badly to just move on and not think of it anymore, to think and focus on the good side of people, instead of the horrible side he has been living with the past 10 years.
I actually see Polities as more like Waymond from Everything Everywhere All At Once. "You tell me it's a cruel world and we're all running around in circles. I know that. I've been on this earth just as many days as you. When I choose to see the good side of things, I'm not being naive. It is strategic and necessary. It's how I've learned to survive through everything. This is how I fight."
I love your reactions, but I highly recommend changing the very beginning of the starting soon screen for photosensitive viewers. As someone with epilepsy, I had to cover the screen to avoid having a reaction to it.
This is such an incredible series and Jorge is so flipping talented, it's amazing! Thank you both for reacting to this absolutely epic (haha) series! #HerdLove
It's always great watching people enjoy Epic for the first time. Watching them fall in love with Polites... then watching their love get crushed. Such delicious schadenfreude.
It’s gotta be some instinctive part of reactors to know when things are going to go bad, because everytime I react to someone reacting to this they always seem to do their longest pause right before the Polities moment
This is so weird, I just came from the latest Saga drop (keeping it secret, not that I think it would give anything away IMO but just being safe) and now I'm watching this.
this is the first death under odys comand since they went to war. so layers. ofc they don’t facter in theyr cost for his life, there hasn’t been a cost for 10yrs. ofc ody is traumatised. not onely did he see his bff die, it was his first loss as a comander.
Why does everyone take I'll kill your last to mean that Polyphemus intends to kill only Odysseus? I have always understood it as I'm still killing everyone and you die last. You're welcome you get to live a few minutes longer.
Great reaction, some stats for you. Each of those thuds after the first two is another man killed. Polites takes two hits, then 13 others. Odysseus loses 14 men in this cave to Polyphemus.
I'm gonna be in the minority here. yeah, it's a shitty situation about that production company.......but I'm not gonna lie and say the new versions are better. if I'll be completely honest. I genuinely dislike the new versions because they honestly sound worst to me.

“He’s doing it over one sheep”
Polyphemus: My favorite sheep😢
Still not a reason to kill 600 people
@@djmewtwo6981 For polyphemus, their lives are worthless, they killed his friend and then compared him to wine without even thinking to apologize

@ you would have called the extermination anyways even if the wasps didn’t do anything. Not the same thing

Your reactions when polites got clubbed is priceless
Just a little fun fact:
The choir is singing “Pol-y-phe-mus”
Took me a while to pick that up, but it’s so cool and gives me chills every time
The Choir in the beginning were chanting Polyphemus if you didn't catch that.

About the same music line, pretty sure it's same as when Zeus was telling Ody about the "mission" in Troy saga, just a lot faster and energetic

Pill time :D
Wh-.. where's my Polites..?
I already watched this at Panda's channel but I'm just dropping in to say RIP Polites
When you hear boss music 😭 when you hear Ludwig the holy blades boss music 💀

He actually lost 7 as Polyphemus is probably trying to make sure they are dead since the first hit didn’t kill Polites instantly
So….anyone want pancakes??
This animatic inspired by Attack on Titan.
