The white man when he came to Africa separated god from the Africans. Prior to that humans looked at themselves as God. There was no separation between ourselves and “God”. Our power was removed to some degree when we looked to the sky for a god instead of looking to ourselves and our world, nature.
We are not God, but a creation of God, Just as nature is created. Do not worship nature or yourself, worship that which created nature. You can argue that we are a part of God, yes.
