I think what makes this course better is that I'm actually doing it. I've completed the material (video, flash cards and lab) for 46 of the days. It is in the first course I've gotten this far in. I am picking up things I didn't know, and filling in all the holes I had in my knowledge. I am going to be able to use my notes at my job, and I've already found things I want to improve I highly recommend this course for anyone who wants to thoroughly learn this material.
I like this topic, i used to work as an engineer in a vessel and all the time i was thinking about how the navigation master clock synchronizes with everything else and it was never taught in school and there it is. Simply explained and i well resonated. This is very important with ECDIS, Master Clock, Enginer control computers, and many many others. Once again, a big thank you sir!
Your videos are definitely the best resources for CCNA online, I've enrolled in many courses, but nothing compared to your explanation and videos.thanks for your great efforts.
Highly recommend for anyone going through these labs to radomly incorporate materials from the other labs you've done. NTP kicks my butt, so I'm going to be adding NTP servers to the other labs I do to reinforce it.
In the years to come, the new Jeremy's CCNA IT Lab video intros will be appended with "Actually all of the information in this video is outside the scope of the CCNA exam, but I want you to know it anyway."
Not sure if this is the case for Cisco devices, but some machines won't sync to an NTP server if the difference between the system clock and NTP time is more than an hour. If you're having trouble getting the system to sync to a server, check that both the H/W and S/W clocks are close to the NTP server's time

if a dev set to be the ntp server, it's also simultaneously an ntp client and server? and it's stratum always increases by 1 when using show ntp associations?!
For the update of the calendar clock, the command "clock update-calendar" does not work as it is shown in the previous video? On this lab it is also shown as "ntp update-calendar," is this just a packet tracer issue? Thank you for you assistance.
Hi, the value in the 'ntp master' command only matters when R1 is not having external ntp clock source. Technically, when R1 is syncing the clock from the NTP server, the stratum of R1 will be 2 if the ntp server is 1. When R2/R3 syncs the clock from R1, the stratum should be R1's stratum+1 which is 3. When R1 does not have any external clock source, the stratum of R1 will be the number you specified in the "ntp master" command. In this case, it will be 8. Then the stratum of R2/R3 will become 9. I would suggest testing it by "shutdown" the interface g0/0 in R1. You will see the R1's stratum changes to 8 after inputting the 'ntp master 8' command. Hope that answers your question.
Hi Jeremy ! Hope you are doing great..! I have one doubt, I am trying same topology in packet tracer but still confused about how did you configure internet (Cloud PT)? I am failed to do that please clarify this.
one question, i messed with the timings of all routers after you said to configure it like your timezone and when I added +3 but didn't know it was 12 pm so it would give me 15 as 3.. whereas my actual time was 3 am something, so i changed again on 2 (R1 & R3) routers and left it untouched on R2. shouldn't it all be changed again when it gets to NTP servers? my router 2 was showing something around 6 am but Router 1 and 3 were showing 21 just like u had configured in the video and probably on the server
If you're working in packet tracer, those may be omitted by the program. He mentions at about 1:19 that some NTP commands are missing in Packet Tracer.

Happy birthday, Jeremy! Thanks for teaching us!
my favorite part of NTP: I can type "ass" in the cli and no one will question it.

Thank you Jeremy you are great as usual!
Thanks Alberto :)
Another day in the box. Thank you, Jeremy you rock
We need two videos per week if you can dear ;)... as possible and thank you for a big effort ... I wish you all the best
Sorry, don't have enough free time to make two per week

thanks Jeremy very much for the lab, very good

Thanks Jeremy!
When do you expect to finish the course?
I'll finish it this year, not sure exactly when.
I tried to use the "clock update- calender" command taught in the last lecture but it doesn't seem to work, another packet tracer problem?
probably
thankyou for this great material
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment :)
Hello Jeremy, Thank you to create this course. I can see you divide this course for days, How many days will be complete this course?
The course is about 70% complete
Thanks Jeremy 😊 🙏 😊 🙏

Why do R2 & R3 sync to R1 as a *sys.peer rather than *sys.master like it does in the Boson lab?

reference clock remained .init even i clicked the fast forward button, what may be the problem?
Great sit

Awsome video Jeremy! Thank you, they're really helping me in my journey!...
Awesome, glad to hear it :)
a small doubt, we configured R1 master as stratum 8, but when we check in R2 and R3 its showing stratum 2. why is that or did i miss something?

how to make that internet cloud... ?
Hey. Just a question... would it be better to config the timezone first then do the time? Just like to know your thoughts.
Whichever you prefer!
Hello Jeremy, I have a question. How do you configure NTP on switches? I tried using the same commands as for routers but it does not work.
The commands are the same! Might not be implemented in packet tracer
can someone let me know where I can find the internet option in cisco packet tracer?
thank you sir

I'm not seeing the calendar command in exec mode nor global config mode

On now you've done it... Expect some extra birthday wishes on each July 25th! =)
Hey Jeremy, If Don't specific ntp trusted-key but specific ntp server ip.addr key key-number . Does NTP client sync to NTP master.
Try it out!
India's is GMT + 5:30, so how do i type that?
