What is ASMR? It is both a sensation and a medium.
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current, non-scientific name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps, but much more pleasant.
ASMR videos are meant to intentionally help induce this sensation, also referred to as "tingles", but also provide a relaxing, calming, soothing, therapeutic and even entertaining experience for the viewer.
Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect.
What are your likes/dislikes this year so far?
Ephemeral Rift you forgot the links in the description
IntergalactiCosmo it's actually lit bro 🔥🔥🔥
saw dunkirk in 70mm IMAX, phenomenal, and not as long as youd think, only 1hr 47 min
Dunkirk was incredible
Ephemeral Rift loved all the marvel films, as always

Haha there's arguments on every single fucking comment now
I've watched Kong
You need to watch Megan Leavey rift!! :(
Have to see Baby Driver. Just for the bellbottoms
Baby Driver was great.
SKINAAAARD!!!
Baby Driver was fantastic, some of the greatest car chase scenes in film history. Super excited for Blade Runner.
I just saw Dunkirk and loved it! I don't think it was an emotionally heavy film, but it was definitely intense from start to finish. There's always an unnerving sense of dread throughout the film because the soundtrack constantly sounds like distant planes or ticking clocks. If you're interested then I'd highly recommend it! Logan is also really good; it's like the plot and setting of Children of Men but with superheroes.
The ASMR Review Show Dude I literally just saw it too. You couldn't describe it any better. It was very good and unique!
Oh my god I loved Children of Men so much, I need to watch Logan then.
In the minute that it has been up I've already seen the whole video. Great job Rift!
Why is NOBODY talking about Logan? That, at least for me, was by far the best movie of the year. Very emotionally heavy, but it's soooooo worth it.
Asmr and movies. literally my two favorite things. Thank you so much Rift. You're amazing!
BABY. DRIVER.
ER, Dunkirk is amazing, you should see it ASAP!
So true!!!!!
Lemme get a piece of that Tom Hardy
The reveal of Tom Hardy being the pilot felt like the climax of this otherwise relatively boring movie to me. All this dramatic music and the constant clicking of a clock but nothing ever happens.
Tom Nothing happens? Did you watch the movie?
Random question, Who else got sad when George dies
Logan was one of the best this year for me, along with War for the planet of the apes, Dunkirk, Get Out, and Gotg2

You have to see Dunkirk in theaters
Bro, I love your channel. Perfect mix of everything I like, plus some weird stuff which just makes it better!
I went to see Get Out with my Mum and kept saying that the girlfriend was in on it and she was like no way and then it happened and I was like SHIT I KNEW IT
I'm still waiting for the Warriors movie. I've read every single one of those cat books, and I think it's about time they get a movie.
Y E S
Bri G I think it's finally been green lit, so we should get one eventually. It's just a matter of when.
Morgan Gobin
Thanks for the info. Now all I have to know is what part of the series it'll be based on or whatever so I can reread that series or book.
There are waaaaaaay to many books to make a movie.
My sister is H Y P E D
Dunkirk isn't a long war epic! It's around 100 minutes long and its ALL fighting. Barely any storylines at all, just the event.
It's also undoubtedly the best movie of the year! its incredible you'd love it
Dunkirk... my god. I didn't speak for a good few hours after I came out of that theater. Hands down it's my choice for movie of the year. I will never look at war the same way again. Even if you don't like the kind of movie it is, as a human being who is here, alive on this Earth after the events of World War 2 it is practically your duty to see it at least once. The preservation and respect of our history is one of the most important things in this world. And the story of Dunkirk is displayed magnificently in this film. Everything from the cinematography to the soundtrack, the tone, the sound design, it's all very enthralling and really throws you into the boots of those soldiers. Such a fantastic movie.
Baby driver was a beautiful movie. Good action and a huge twist in the middle of it. Great movie one of my Altima favorites if I'm to be honest
the emoji movie was awesome i saw it with my little brother and he said it was the best movie ever,i fell asleep 4minutes in but il take his word for it.
Jaκey you're brother must have 2 brain cells then
Dunkirk and Baby Driver are both a must see. I'd also love to hear your opinions on Logan and T2: Trainspotting.
even when he isnt doing asmr its still super relaxing. honestly wish youd do more vids of you just talking for hours
i loved it comes at night. i thought it was a terrifically well made movie with some incredible acting. yes it was pretty slow at times and it is very dark but if you can get into it it's truly a terrific movie.
I need to watch more movies. Haven't done so with my family in like a year, it's sad.
I was about to trow a party with like 30 people at my place tonight.📣🔊
Fuck it, time to sleep!
Get Out is probably my favourite movie of 2017. I liked Dunkirk but I feel it may have been a bit overhyped so I came out feeling less satisfied despite it still being a good movie. War for the Planet of the Apes was good too.
Baby Driver and Get Out were easily the best movies of this year
Ezekiel Rodriguez loved both of them + Dunkirk
Chewy Carrot dunkirk?
Chewy Carrot or Logan?
Chewy Carrot baby driver isn't even CLOSE to being as good as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2...
That's a fantastic camera, your content is so great that you don't need it - but some of your more cinematic ideas will really benefit from it.
listening も兼ねて毎回使わせて頂いてます。
must-see: BLADE RUNNER 2049
Shooooooooooooot dawg, I gotta say that Spider-Man Homecoming. Das mah favs.
Life was pretty good. Baby Driver was AMAZING! If you have a chance to see it, watch it!
I might be a bit biased being Scottish, but T2: Trainspotting was great. Not an amazing movie, but a satisfying follow up to the first one, something is Scots we're waiting 20 years for! Seriously gutting that you missed Logan, it was a masterpiece.
What no emoji?
Oregano you're crossing a dangerous line
Ezekiel Rodriguez
LOL
that thing doesn't count as a movie
Oregano He said he wants to watch it
Oregano fuck off
OKJA! it was really great & i recommend people watch it 100% worth a watch.
[Everything on the list is generally worth a watch if you "Enjoy" movies & can put the little stuff aside & just enjoy a film]
Dunkirk was very different than I expected it to be, but it was fantastic! Very minimal talking throughout, but it was still extremely interesting to watch
Baby driver was dope. If you like cars even in the slightest, and/or bank heist scenes, you will fucking love it
The Emoji Movie is the only film for me.
13:55 sounds like Jake paul
lel nice one
1. Daddys home 2. WHY HAVE YOU NEGLECTED TO MENTION JOHN CENA.
2. Transformer the Last Knight. For the bayformers fans. While not the greatest movie, its got some killer action scenes. If you saw Transformers the Last Knight, your favorite suicidecon (deception).
3. Cars 3. Really great movie... if you forget cars 2
You got to love this guy's voice.
How the hell did i miss this? I listen to the preview every night. Knocks me out.
It’s been here for 2 years bro
Logan, Get Out and Baby Driver are so far the best movies this year in my opinion. Wonder Woman was also a great movie.
Baby Driver and Dunkirk are the best films in years
I just received Shin Godzilla, the newest in the franchise from last year, in the mail today and that movie is excellent. The best designed Godzilla ever and in a genuinely unsettling and scary film.
I looked this up and it looks interesting. Classic godzilla. I'll have to try and check it out!
ER man, I'm not gonna make a long paragraph or anything, but I just want to say you've helped me through some rough times.
every day you upload is a good day!
hey uncle E, I've been around forever (UA-cam wise atleast), I don't comment often on the hundreds of not thousands of videos I've watch on UA-cam but I just want you to know that I personally believe in what you're doing, not just providing entertaining videos but helping us relax and expressing your opinions, we may not agree on some things but I appreciate how much you put yourself out there, besides the ass kissing I saw back in last year's relax with death video you had a PS4, what games do you have for it, and if you ever need a terrible teammate for siege or battlefield, I'm your man.
Hey thanks I appreciate it. I wish I had time to play with folks like yourself, i'm more of a singleplayer old man these days. But i'll send some ASMR vibes your way that might help you stay up top in the leaderboards!
Anchorman 2 had my stomach weak the entire movie, I loved it!
HELL YEAH!!!!! IVE SEEN all these except Kong Skull Island because I heard it was trash. I love your movie reviews and really enjoyed the Alien and Moonlight reviews you did
Dunkirk isn't really that long, and is absolutely a must for the cinema. I can't imagine it'll be the same on Blu-Ray unless you have an amazing surround sound setup.
Dunkirk, emotional beyond words. Definitely my choice of film for 2017.
Definitely go see Dunkirk, it's actually not long at all and is a must see in IMAX 70mm or regular 70mm if you can.
Atomic Blond and Dunkirk are my two favorites so far!
My favorite of this year was 20th Century Women, by far. I think it was technically released last year, but it came out in January at my theater. The writing is excellent and great performances were given by all. Annette Bening was robbed of an Oscar nom!
I don't think I even heard of that one. Will have to check it out!
Ephemeral Rift yeah I think you'll love it! Thanks for responding! I love your videos.
Really enjoyed It, I think it was a credit to the original and best horror since the Conjuring 2.
Man the ads in the middle of this are killing
Cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) is an umbrella term used in the medical field that defines disorders of the heart and kidneys whereby “acute or chronic dysfunction in one organ may induce acute or chronic dysfunction of the other”.
The giveaway was Rose not letting the cop see his ID at the start of the movie
Well glad you were smart enough to pick up on that.
Get out has to be one the weirdest movies I have ever seen, but guardians of the galaxy 2 takes the cake until... probably deadpool 2 comes out lol
DUNKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
was soooo great
Spiderman homecomeing is by far my favorite movie ever!
Wow, i'm surprised you didnt watch Logan or Wonder Woman yet. Both phenomenal films! (I watched both a good 5 times over).
Personally, I know you've probably received a lot of these comments, but I think you should definitely see Dunkirk, if not for the plot of the film but rather the way it was presented. There really isn't a "grand plot" that takes place during the film like in the title "Saving Private Ryan", But rather the idea of 'escape'. The characters presented are of little relevance (as I barely remember any of their names right after watching the movie) and are hardly related. In all, the film does a unique job of presenting the battle in its purest form. It's best to think of it as pure unedited war film clips.
Do with that information what you will, thanks again for the content :)
Definitely re-watch it comes at night. It should be in the top 3 best films of the year, it just was marketed really poorly. Also the director has confirmed that there's a monster in the movie but we just never get to see it. You have to explain how the little boy in the movie would be exposed to the infection in the first place and the biggest theory I've heard is that the monster killed the dog and dragged it back to the house, and could manipulate and send visions to people while they were sleeping. This would allow the little boy to sleep walk, and open the door to the monster and the dead dog and that's what exposed him to the infection. The boy was actually sick and got the other child sick when he held his hand that same night to take him to bed. The couple wanted to flee because they understood that the main couple would want to kill their child to protect their family. There's a lot of tension and mystery to all of the characters and a lot to be explained. I am sad that it got bad reviews from some people because of how badly it was marketed but I consider it a high class film.
You gotta do some type of get out roleplay like preping us with the couagula thing when Chris was in the chair !! Would be so dope
i dont see the issue with alien3, i love it, David Fincher himself hates it, but with no script i think he did great job for debut movie. u should rewatch it, give it a second chance, great sets and cast and characters , so much better then alien 4.
I totally recommend 'Dunkirk' a very moving film and emotional but amazing!
One movie I highly recommend is Moana, I'm not a disney guy but holy shit it's an amazing film imo, amazing visuals and all the standard disney stuff
You would loove okja, one of my favourites of the year, it's extremely fresh and unique, but it also has a very strong, important message and clear voice, the director Bong Joon Ho made it and he's amazing, definitely check out his film "snowpiercer" if you want to see a very unique and enthralling post apocalyptic rising up story that pulls you into the world so well.
Kong skull island + IMAX = heaven
Whenever you can get a chance to see Logan, you should. As much as I loved GOTG2, Spidey and WW, it's easily the best superhero film this year. Personally, it's in my top 3 superhero films of all time. Don't know if you're a big X-Men fan or not, but I think you'll really like it.
Split is a fantastic film, I recommend it. Definitely the film of the year for me.
Great gift for my birthday! Thank you
I live in Italy so I don't know if some of these came out before in the US. Here's my top 10 for 2017:
1-T2
2-Okja
3-La Tortue Rouge (animated movie nobody saw)
4-Shin Godzilla (awesome and deep. Not the usual Godzilla movie thanks to Hideaki Anno)
5-your name. (Anime movie)
6-Going in Style (Zach Braff latest movie with Freeman, Caine and Arkin)
7-Baywatch (so stupid it's sooo good)
8-Arrival
9-Logan
10-Railroad Tigers (sorry I love Jackie Chan)
Runner-ups: John Wick 2; Spiderman Homecoming; The Great Wall. Also one of my favs this year would be the italian movie "Smetto Quando Voglio - Masterclass" but I don't know if it had an international release. It's the second one of a trilogy so yeah.
Btw go see T2, Uncle E.
Logan and Wonder woman were the only movies I saw in theaters this year and were both great
I watched split in the movies and couldn’t stop laughing 😂
Logan was my personal favorite movie of the year if not all time you should buy it well worth the money.
"Get out" was quite a good thriller in the year
Not a movie out yet but I cannot wait for The Disaster Artist!!!
YES!!
I've never felt so uncomfortable in a theatre, watching a movie, with a diverse audience, as I did seeing GET OUT. And Skeleton Key was better and dealt with Voodoo. Awesome concept.
It’s 2020 and this is so interesting for me to sleep...love your vids tho
Life was fucking terrifying. The alien looked like a mix between Cthulhu and a can of tuna.
After that Lord of The Rings comment I'm going to have to leave and watch a relaxing face-hugger removal by Doctor Dave!
Paul, A Ghost Story was absolutely transcendent. If it's playing in PA near you, you should go and see it.
"and the emoji movie... So umm..."😂 😂 😂
He needs to do a penny wise ASMR
Get out and the Big Sick were my favorites
I'm really interested what you thought about Dead Men Tell No Tales.
I loved the scores and cinematography. IMO, if you disregard the sometimes cartoon-like plot, it was one of the best films of the year, simply based on the beautiful scenes and new POTC scores
Dunkrik was amazing definitely see it
Just to clarify, the original Planet of the Apes came out in 1968, way ahead of Mad Max in 1979 and it wasn't hokey time travel. It had to do with the difference between time passing in space and here on earth. Ok, I think that was nerdy enough lol
Watch Dunkirk its action from start to end, certainly my film of the year
In regards to "Get out" I believe it was a part of their frontal lobe that was switched with their host.
I'm looking forward to IT, Leatherface, and of course Star Wars
Escape from NY actor name you were looking for = Kurt Russell. You probably looked it up already. Couldn't believe you forgot him haha. I've seen him in more stuff than you have though like 3 of my favorites: "Breakdown", "Executive Decision", and "Big Trouble in Little China". Can't forget "Tango&Cash" and "Overboard"!
Hi Rift, here's an idea for a video: A roleplay of a spirit in Twin Peak's red room speaking in their particular way
Looks like I have homework to do. Thanks!
the candyman 1; It is an asmr master piece
T2 Trainspotting is a great film, a total different movie to Trainspotting, It is also a different genre IMO and I would class it more as a comedy.
Great video, lets count how many times he flips his hand over
Dunkirk: yes. it's 90 minutes.
Okja: it's on Netflix, Yes!
Life: terrible, no
GITS: NO
Atomic blonde: if you have time
Emoji: NO
Dark Tower: only if you aint read it
