That’s a very bad mindset to have - that’s not the Christian values we have in Britain. We may support and back the massacre of the family of Jesus Christ in Palestine but we can’t allow this to happen in the uk otherwise we would be termed as hypocrites!!
Home schooling is the gift that keeps on giving for child abusers. Needs to be banned and the parents arrested for assault when this happens, not walking on eggshells over cultural sensitivities.
I'd agree if it weren't for the generations of abused children who go through the school system completely unnoticed. And the children abused in school by personnel and peers. It's not like there's a great track record. It's not the schooling, it's the lack of quick action against and prosecution of abusers.
@@janetmckenna_lowryeven so, it’s still going in the right direction, banning home schooling for vulnerable children is one barrier that will hopefully taken down.

Hi James. I listen to you regularly and often watch your clips in full. This clip on the other hand I could not watch it anymore after 1 minute. Having welcomed my first born only a week ago, I can’t comprehend how someone would put their own child through such sick torture.
Of course it the parents fault but having dealt with social services on sensitive and worrying matters you realise how inept and almost corrupt they can be.
The Maria Colwell case in Brighton who was killed by her father 51 years ago was supposed to never happen to a child again and still it happens and nobody apart for the parent(s)/carer(s) seem to be found guilty of responsibility.
Too much focus is put on keeping families together in my opinion. The biological mother and father both appear to have been a shambles and there seems to have been a pattern of abuse including bititng, irons, other things which have been unbareable to learn and know. He should have had no access to the children and they should have been taken into care. The care system needs better funding and reassesment of family courts and priorities. 1 chance is all that should be taken when it comes to children. A theory and practical test to drive a car but you can beat your children black and blue and be on watch lists and still end up murdering them. Its beyond imagination. No punishment will ever possibly be enough.
If you want to do something then volunteer as a school governor. I became a parent governor a few years back and you do feel that you are helping children. If you think schools are “dodgy” maybe train a little bit in safeguarding and become a governor. There are laws that should protect children, and schools try and protect children as much as they can, but the protection ends at the school gates. I know the processes that are followed by schools to raise concerns with social services, council, police, and the schools I have worked with them work hard to help kids. If the kids are not in school then they are at more risk, because the stats don’t lie, children (and partners) are far more likely to be abused by someone at home, rather than anyone they will meet in public. Schools have process on process to identify and try to protect children, but they can only pass information on to other authorities.
Of all the awful stories in the sea of filth, these ones are the worst and when one becomes a parent they become almost unbearable. The ultimate betrayal by those who are meant to care and love. There is no consolation. We only move on from these stories by getting distracted by something else.
What makes me angry is they keep telling us it will never happen again but it does, those who are responsible for not protecting this little girl should be called to account but they never are , this has been happening for years, when will we learn ??
Teachers can’t remove kids from parents. All they can do is pass their concerns onto the Council or Police. Once the child is taken out of school, they can’t even do that.
My partner works at a school, all they can do is inform the pastoral manager/assistant. They will then inform social services. The amount I've been told that she's seen and reported yet nothing has been done is disgusting and incredibly upsetting. The amount of children in her class that are neglected and/or abused is abhorrent let alone the fact social services are doing absolutely nothing.
@@BigBaldMartin Please apply to be a family support worker or if you want to do the degree or masters, a social worker. You will understand the context. Or, you can chill and react online when something happens.
It is not easy to report safeguarding concerns because there are always reasons why it should not or will not be fully investigated. Safeguarding concerns can be easily allayed by a tickbox exercise. 'We are satisfied that sufficient safeguards are in place.' Children who are home-schooled should not be cut off from the kind of oversight we hope that children in schools are protected by. I was an abused child who went to school in the 60s and 70s. Children are very well rehearsed and groomed to appear 'normal', and to perform being happy and OK. For most of us, what we experience is all we know. We think everyone must experience this, and we are told we are being beaten and abused because we are bad. We don't want others to know this. The skills, time and resources needed to fully observe children and read underlying signs are simply not funded. Social workers have unmanageable caseloads. Austerity kills.
@@RafaelMichaelJackson Agree to a point , but HOW many CHILDREN are being abused that the SYSTEM are aware OFF. What I cannot comprehend, why have CHILDREN to COMMIT HEINOUS CRIMES.( women and men)
@imaanhadi1340 Yeah but culturally enriching and look how do we not know that he wasn't just training her at home like Rocky to be the next big female boxer? Then you wouldn't be complaining because you'd have a couple more great sequels!!
IIRC baby Peter was returned to his mother several times after being hospitalised and abuse diagnosed. This is similar in that even when so many knew and reported it, nothing happened to save her.
A western government just isnt equipped to deal wirh backwards islamic behaviour on this scale. Blaming the authorities when the community tried to cover this up is ridiculous.
Judging by the facts of this case the neighbours could have been beating down the door of the social services office and nothing would have been done to save her. The concerns of qualified professionals weren’t properly acted upon let alone people from the poor girl’s street. A complete system failure that has cost a helpless young child her life.
It's easy with 20 20 hindsight vision to point the finger at a social work failure and undoubtedly there has been. However, the flip side is criticism of social services for taking children away from parents. Very often they are caught between a rock and a hard place. Also, social services are critically under staffed with workers carrying unmanageable number of cases. It is a direct consequence of failing to adequately fund social services that cases like this will continue to happen
There is absolutely no excuse for inaction in this instance. Hindsight does not come into it. Many things happened to this little girl over 10 years. It was blatantly obvious she was in danger. Blaming lack of staff and funding is to excuse the criminal inaction of those involved.
As a teacher I have sat in many meetings regarding children at risk. When we questioned a decision that social workers made allowing a child to remain with extended family who were as bad as the child's parents we were told don't judge them by your values.
@@Holidayhome-spain I don't think that is prevalent. Not in my experience any way. The likelihood here is manipulation and intimidation on the parent/step parents part.
These awful family members came here twenty odd years ago on so-called student visas...translation services were used during the court processes...the father worked as a taxi driver...doctors and scientists come to mind.
Those three people were responsible for this innocent child’s horrific death. We are all responsible for child protection, not just those professionals dealing directly with children. A more civilised society will be nearer when we all take responsibility.
We are just to soft and liberal as a nation, too polite, too happy to turn the other cheek as to not upset different cultures. Will we learn from this? Probebly not.
As a headteacher, I made referrals to social services and then was left totally in the dark. I didn't know if/what action was being taken and was told that it was now out of my hands and didn't need to be involved further. All I could do was keep reporting, whilst being given no safegaurding information.
Whilst I agree that many abusers would choose to 'home-school' to hide abuse, please lets remember that for many school can be a damaging environment with parents removing children for genuine reasons.
When my kids were little we had a fantastic paediatrician. She would sit babies & toddlers in-front of her & ‘play’ with them. She would tickle & make them laugh. She would undress them to weigh them, change their nappies (just to be helpful). She would have wiped chocolate off of their faces! She became my friend. She said that she would NEVER be, “that doctor” that missed it! ❤
Ego, a lack of education, innately being a monster possibly because of ones own abuse, so they justify their own actions. The biggest problem is families and the cover ups for whatever reason they want to use to justify it. Social services clearly failed, but so did this little girls whole immediate family, who would have seen what was happening.
Since he came over to go to university as a student, he must have had some education. But ,then again , 20 years here and he still needed an interpreter.
Truly heartbreaking. I really cried for her how awful. So called parents!!! Absolute horrible. Dear Sara rest in peace darling❤ you will not be forgotten dear
Yes you do ask the parent to wipe the Nutella of the face and you shouldn't worry about offending the parents when a child safety is at risk!! Everyone of these stories is just sickening.
You can volunteer or work part time as a family support worker. You do not have to be a qualified social worker. I recommend you do that, to get a partial picture of what the role looks like. I don't think you wold last Malc.
In reading we had trey blue, girl who died..I dont like ss but I also feel for them. The problem is they intervene in cases which only need support and dont act on cases which need it. It's not the sw but the systemic failures which are truly horrific
And every time a child is tortured to death, we are told "lessons will be learned" NO THEY WILL NOT !!!!!! This just keeps happening & these poor vulnerable, innocent children will continue to die needlessly.
Must be awful being a social worker overloaded and juggling however many cases and having any number which could turn out to be the family that in the end kills their child(ren) or damages them so much they are unlikely to recover. Considering what to do in the lack of sufficient foster, adoption or care places. Presumably 99.9% take the child benefit and so the children must be identified and again similar number will have NHS numbers and so they can be tracked at school or if home schooled or private school. Also, I think the general public needs to have a duty of care to report any issues for children, vulnerable adults and cruelty to animals is often a great but sad indicator of risk to abuse to anything in an individual or couple's power ... but little use having the "report/duty of care bit" if no resources to follow up.
I work with a lot of ex police. One story was of a house with around 16 cats and dogs, faeces all over and in the kids beds. Social services couldn’t do anything as the kids were in no immediate danger.
These figures don’t include all the children abused that no one ever finds out about because it’s all so hidden or the child feels so much shame they don’t disclose. But that child lives with the consequences forever. I can’t understand how anyone let alone a parent can harm a child intentionally. How to we get to the place where this no longer happens
Why were the parents allowed to "homeschool" her when she had already been referred to child services 2 or 3 times before?
Because there is no law to stop it. That is under discussion from what I
have read. Parents have a lot of rights over their children, some of which bang into the rights of the child. I hope that the law is changed.

People have their children removed for far less, this cases are becoming common now, time for real action
Hope the parents get whats coming in prison
That’s a very bad mindset to have - that’s not the Christian values we have in Britain. We may support and back the massacre of the family of Jesus Christ in Palestine but we can’t allow this to happen in the uk otherwise we would be termed as hypocrites!!

They say that, “It takes a village to raise a child”. We are failing our children! 😔
I'm from Woking and know homeschoolers. The parents have visits and meetings with a rep from the council. You can't just disappear off the radar. This poor girl was also let down by her school and the institution
Social services not doing their job again.
Difficult job.
They do not hgave enough time, resource, people to provide the service they want to.. Thank your stars that you live in a place where the concept of having this 'service' was even imagined..
You can apply as a family support worker and get involved without a degree to support children. I would recommend you do so, to understand.
Linda you should train as a social worker, I am sure that we would then have no child deaths.
They will have their day in jail. Just evil.
@organicwest surely it's God's judgement they need to be worrying about if they're evil.
Yeah I’m sure the threat of a make believe person is terrifying
What makes me angry is they keep telling us it will never happen again but it does, those who are responsible for not protecting this little girl should be called to account but they never are , this has been happening for years, when will we learn ??
Who do you think is responsible for protecting children. Parents, grandparents, neighbours, teacher, doctors, social workers?
Powerful piece James.
It is indeed a powerful hairpiece.

I hope they get what's coming to them in prison they have no remorse
8:31 the teachers knew he was starving but the boy wasn't removed from the household? Unforgivable
First thing I said was to acknowledge that a social services failure had clearly occurred
It is not easy to report safeguarding concerns because there are always reasons why it should not or will not be fully investigated. Safeguarding concerns can be easily allayed by a tickbox exercise. 'We are satisfied that sufficient safeguards are in place.'
Children who are home-schooled should not be cut off from the kind of oversight we hope that children in schools are protected by.
TIME after TIME , ABUSING and MURDERING CHILDREN , the SOCIAL SERVICES says LESSONS will be LEARNED . Same old EMPTY WORDS.
@@RafaelMichaelJackson Agree to a point , but HOW many CHILDREN are being abused that the SYSTEM are aware OFF. What I cannot comprehend, why have CHILDREN to COMMIT HEINOUS CRIMES.( women and men)

IIRC baby Peter was returned to his mother several times after being hospitalised and abuse diagnosed.
This is similar in that even when so many knew and reported it, nothing happened to save her.

So were the neighbours who heard and saw and did nothing.
Interesting! People in Europe do not want to interfere with their neighbours!
Judging by the facts of this case the neighbours could have been beating down the door of the social services office and nothing would have been done to save her. The concerns of qualified professionals weren’t properly acted upon let alone people from the poor girl’s street. A complete system failure that has cost a helpless young child her life.
There was 15 reports to social services, including the neighbours reports.
All ignored.
It is politics as well. Managers fear racism accusations, especially in parts of UK where commissioners are Muslim.
💯 truth. Social services failure to act directly led to the death of this little girl and that is horrific and inexcusable on their part
These people should not have been allowed to be around children
Child Protection. The job nobody wants to do any more.
Thats due to the fact that everything now is about blame..not actual protection...
Those three people were responsible for this innocent child’s horrific death.
We are all responsible for child protection, not just those professionals dealing directly with children. A more civilised society will be nearer when we all take responsibility.
Grief…. words fail me. Sadness fills me.
I do wonder how many cases each social worker is handling, like every service their budgets have been gutted.
Evil father and that stepmother absolute waste of space
A lot of people would have seen the bruises and decided to stay silent..everyone failed her.
The social services are terrified to even remotely upset this community..
Wait for it ,,, lessons will be learnt
These murderer should be deported to serve their sentences in their own country.
Shouldn't be here in the first place
And why would “their” country honour a sentence passed in a foreign country?
Ego, a lack of education, innately being a monster possibly because of ones own abuse, so they justify their own actions. The biggest problem is families and the cover ups for whatever reason they want to use to justify it. Social services clearly failed, but so did this little girls whole immediate family, who would have seen what was happening.
Since he came over to go to university as a student, he must have had some education. But ,then again , 20 years here and he still needed an interpreter.

And every time a child is tortured to death, we are told "lessons will be learned" NO THEY WILL NOT !!!!!! This just keeps happening & these poor vulnerable, innocent children will continue to die needlessly.
I am surprised you covered this story. Very sad and awful.
Also, I think the general public needs to have a duty of care to report any issues for children, vulnerable adults and cruelty to animals is often a great but sad indicator of risk to abuse to anything in an individual or couple's power ... but little use having the "report/duty of care bit" if no resources to follow up.
so sad hope shes laid too rest allah bless you.❤
The system always lets children down.
