It's a beautiful plant but I think that the flowers are just so wonderful with their purplish color. It's striking and one couldn't help but notice it even if from afar.
I just got one a few months ago. We love it. How often do you fertilize?

Are these messy??? They're gorgeous, but I don't want droppings every day of the year ;-)
You mentioned that the shrub came with the house, but do you know where would be a good store to purchase one?

@@harikrishnacr816hey, I know you left this comment a while ago but I’ve found I have to really prune it in back the early spring. I was scared to because it didnt seem to grow very fast at all, but it really goes into growing overdrive when you do. But this is a tricky plant anyways, I’ve been growing it in Florida for the last 3 years but I still haven’t completely figured out how much water to give it.
I need this plant so beautiful flowers
Will this grow to be a tree?
Thank you for your video.
This plant is so beautiful, it's just gorgeous! This is my first time hearing about it.... It's kind of regal/wonderland looking. The blooms are kind of unique for a shrub- I just love it! Do you have to trim/prune it to keep the shape that it is?
Can they get burned by hot weather? Can they tolerate shade?
my flowers keep falling after a day. Any idea why? in peninsula, bay area
Unfortunately I haven't had it long enough to know the ins and outs. Some plants that flower this heavily rotate through the flowers pretty quickly. Could also be low water? Plants will shed when they can't support what is happening in order to survive. Also noticed mine is dropping some leaves as the bloom took off, again putting all its energy in to bloom production. It can really drain a plant. I would give it a little less water if its really wet, and a little more if its fairly dry. Support it if it has some extreme in other words. Good luck.
thanks for the reply. i think i know what happened. i usually water deeply once a week on sat. on thurs, i saw the flowers wilting. i gave it a couple gallons of water and at the end of the day, the flowers were back in good condition. i think i need to water 2x week. mine is going through its first growing season. i'm hoping as its roots get deeper each year, i don't need to water as frequent. and good to see you back
I had this same issue but my flowers are large...the flowers are now lasting a bit longer I guess as the plant adapt to the ground it would get better. I'm in Trinidad and Tobago tropical island
