Fair play to ya Nick. I've made one out of a galvanized steel bin & use it tons

The galvanised steel ones are good for moving around the garden. I wanted a bigger one so I can do slow roast, whole chicken, pizza, basically big cooks.

I'm thinking it could be crushed like pumice stone mixed with fondu cement to make a pizza or tandoor oven , just a thought

Like your idea, and know where you are coming from as I have been looking for similar solutions. Now I have been thinking about this for a few days and can't make my mind up if this will work or not. Are you thinking of this as the main oven wall, or the insulation on top? If you try this, please let me know how you get on, and thanks for sharing your idea.
