That line Binx said in the original "you'll never know how precious she is, until you loose her" really it's hard here.
do you miss binx
@@allison3852 haha saw that movie so many times as a kid but i didnt recognize sean til i saw him again in ncis
*lose…
@@allison3852 they will be back!
@@allison3852of course we miss him! Even I miss Jason Marsden doing his voice too lol
It took losing her sisters for her to realise that she loved them and that her powers were nothing without Sarah and Mary always by her side, for they were the ones who always loved winnie. Absolute power means nothing without the ones who truly love you by your side
Thackery Binx: Take good care of your sisters, you’ll never know how precious they are ‘til you lose them. 🥹🥹🥹
@Kimberly Alessandroni exactly it took winnie to lose her sisters through her own fault for her to realise that how precious they were and just how much she loved them.
Whack
Very wise words! Great post & replies❤
Its always nice to see someone come to the realization that power isn't everything but those who you hold close to you is more important........would be sentimental if these weren't witches who LITERALLY tried to brainwash kids to kill them to gain eternal life from their life source...yea lets just forget all about that "small" detail. Man this is all so dumb! I liked it better when they died in the first one.
Winnie in HP1: “What a fool to give up thy life for thy sister’s”
Winnie in HP2: “My powers are nothing without my sisters!”
That’s poetry, babe 😉
different sister
Yes, and she was about to take Max’s life force for herself obviously letting her sisters die. While she prospers on young and healthy. This is a whole new story
The trinity is no more and it’s a sad thing
@@coolcucumber372 You don't know what you've got till it's gone.
Oogey Boogey said it best: "It's much more fun. I do declare when lives are on the line! Not mine, of course, but your's old boy that'll do just fine!"
So long as HER sisters weren't in danger, what would she care about another's?
The way Winnie said out loud, "Sisteeeeers!!", man that melts my heart.
Mine too (sobbing like the Cowardly Lion…)
Same😊
Same, Winifred accepted her fate and was ready to be embraced by the red auras that were Sarah and Mary.
I think i'll try and get together with my sisters, this Christmas
It is more than a simple word that they will be united forever
How she says “Oh, not my sisters.” truly realizing they’re gone kills me every time. As the oldest sister of 3 girls, I immediately called my sisters to tell them how much I love them after seeing this lol.
Your one sister admits she does not like YOU
You're lucky because some of us don't talk anymore.
@@FieryJuniperIndeed.
In this so-called "New Age" of smart devices and social media, most of us have become distant and antisocial.
We're losing our humanity more and more and are becoming more like machines.
“Not my sisters! My beloved, infuriating sisters! They were my KIN!”
"What is this feeling... I think it is my heart. I fear it is breaking."
Bette Midler's performance really sells this scene. Amazing acting. Got me teary-eyed.
To think, all these years abusing her siblings. The thought of living without them was the worse thing she could imagine.
to be fair her abuse was shown as a way of protecting her sisters from doing dumb stuff and was more the equivalent of horse play for them
@@aawallace98 she always came off like she was burdened by them though so it’s kinda surprising that she cares for them.
@@FJX716 have a kid you would be surprised how much you love something that only burdens you
Lol never known sisters then, I take it?
My cousin would constantly berate her younger sister and they fought like cats and dogs. But she would die for her without a second thought.
@@aawallace98No thanks.
4:01 "SISTAHS!"
You can see their magical energy embrace her as they take her to the other side to be with them... The red, green, the gold and the purple as they fade into the afterlife together. Made me cry.
I never noticed that lol, very heart warming though.
You know what this. This was the perfect send off for the Sanderson Sisters.
Allot of people complained about how they humanised them (understandable since they are child eaters) but really did we want them to do the exact same thing they did in the first film. I'm glad they tried something different with them, this scene was beautiful imo.
And the music. Can we appreciate the music too.
Bruh, those same people think the Joker is completely understandable and relatable and should be sympathized. 😒 even though their ending was sweet, I still remember they eat children. It was a good ending and it doesn’t make me
Forgive them for any of their crimes. Just makes the ending bittersweet
@@NoIDontActuallyLiveInSeattle oh i absolutely agree. I love the scene and i do love the additional depth. But agreed characters like this (and as you said Joker) cannot be redeemed, and i wouldn't say this even remotely redeemed them, but it was definitely very emotional to see.
Honestly, it feels like there were better ways than what they went with. They completely reversed Winifred’s character on a dime, which is what weakened the ending for a lot of people. They could have had the spell empower Sarah instead of Winifred since it was technically her boyfriends head they had used, and Sarah could have squared up to Winifred because she was tired of the abuse and had the final conflict resolve out of Sarah’s sisters dying and her trying to give up her powers before they actually disappear so she could save them, and Winifred then recognizing that her sisters matter more than power.
@@playking667 that’s actually a pretty good ending too
i don't think this humanized them at all, i don't get that, just because they showed the sisters cared for each other, i don't think humanizes them at all
I'm not even kidding, I was literally crying when this scene came on. I think what's beautiful about this scene is that even though Winnie is a villain, the love she had for her sisters was so strong that she thinks she would be nothing without them. That's character growth and this is a touching sendoff for the Sanderson sisters.
I did too 🥺
NOT A,SEND OFF DISNEY IS NOT WORKING ON PART 3.
Yes. Emotional. Perfect ending. And her thanking Becca and laughing. She changed her perspective. She realised what is most important
Winifred figuring out living without her sisters was impossible for her breaks me. everytime i rewatch this movie i cry.
As do i
❤
That actually made Winifred realized how she actually care about her sisters.
It's so sad because they were the best 3 in everything!😭😭😭😭😔😔😔😔and even Winifried the narcissistic one kind of sister, she still cared about her sisters, from being lost,or so on.
Seeing Winifred become sympathetic was a change of pace. Originally, she was a conniving, hateful malicious witch but here she realizes the error of her ways. It was sad to see Sarah and Mary go but it's even sadder for Winifred to die as she is able to go be with them. It was good character development for her.
I must say she truly redeemed herself in that moment when she realized she lost her sisters and was grateful for the spell they cast that would send her to them. She even said thank you and they are so lucky to have each other. Also book has a new home with the girls. wonder if a sequel could be made
She certainly did redeem herself right there and then, & this beautiful scene is so touching, heart warming, heart breaking, my buddies and I were literally crying and sobbing watching this; it hurt my heart, fracturing it. Then, immediately, at Winifred’s redemption, it got healed, im gonna go watch it again with my friends and have another good cry. I’m hoping there’s a sequel, where Winifred & her her sisters come back, to help the new sisters, coming in to save the world & the day, by becoming heroes and teaching and instructing the new sisters all about the magic, but doing it for good instead of evil. I believe everyone is not beyond redemption…
There are hints that a 3rd one is coming. One, the mysterious witch that meets Winifred at the start, shows up again in bird form at the end hinting that she is still around, and two, the black cat seen in the whole film is hinted to actually possibly be a villain(in a surprising twist from the first where the cat was the good guy)when in the post credits, the cat finds ANOTHER black flame candle. It would be cool to have the sisters return again, but this time as good guys.
"Redeemed"? Perhaps, on one level, if not for the fact that it doesn't fit with the character who kept the one source of possible survival to herself at the end of the original without any concern about her sisters bursting into dust. But then there's also the eating children thing...
@@crazyman7671 I suppose ... let's wait another 29 years 👍
Not sure you can be redeemed after killing children. Similar to how Darth Vader wasn't redeemed in my eyes, considering he killed children (not to mention thousands of people). One good act doesn't make up for murder, especially when that act is done for a selfish reason (Vader saving his own son, her saving her own sisters).
When Winnie chose her sisters over her power… literally the BEST moment of both the movies.
What I loved about this scene is that Winfred finally understood what the witch that they met at the beginning of the movie meant. And why she said that spell is forbidden. It is also implied that the same thing happened to her coven.
Perfect analogy for love conquering all. Even evil can turn around when faced with losing what they hold dearest to their heart. Redemption before death. What a great send off for the Sanderson sisters.
“My power is nothing without my sisters”😪💯‼️🗣❤️
I love this ending more then the first one. It was beautiful and made me cry too
its still a death..still sad
I didn't cry in the first, but I sure cried in this one
@@tankdude4581were you even born when the first came out lol. The candle has to be lit by a virgin and they could only come back on all hallows eve, and drain the life-force of the children to remain in the physical world. So they were given until sunset(that was the whole idea of the black flamed candle (it was a spell), that's why they turned to stone and exploded at the end of the 1st movie.
@@elainazimmerman5105 I’m still crying
I meant sunrise lol 😂
Redemption. It is what we all hope for, for the villains. It was moving that they gave Winnie such a beautiful end...she didn't just go to the light...she became the light, as a sign that she was transformed. And Bette played it perfectly.
She portrays Winnie's pain and desperation so perfectly.
I hope that when "Hocus Pocus 3" comes out Winnie and the other witches aren't the main villains. They deserve to be anti-heroines and help deal with a new enemy.
and for the children who were devoured? 🙄
@@KorvoJogador Eh. That's their past, and as said, Winnie in particular repents her past. And as I'm sure you're aware, in real life, there's a rather well-known religious sect that famously and unbelievably teaches that ANYTHING can be forgiven on your death bed if you simply repent. Kind of a get out of jail free card for those that profess to believe that tale, y'know? So, I think in a light-hearted FICTIONAL story, we can focus on the present and not on the past, hmm?
Winifred crying over her sisters makes me cry too.
SAME!!! 😢😭😭😭😭!!!
Same bro

"Why it's everything you wanted. To be the most powerful Witch. And you're REALLY not gonna like it. You should have read the whole book. The warnings, yeah, they come AFTER the spells."
The love she had for her sisters was probably the only spark of good she had in her heart
I feel like this was an unintentional message. You lose what you value most in your pursuit to uphold the past, but when you finally let go and pass the torch, how fortunate thou arte to have each other. Take notes, Disney!
Am I the only one who actually really enjoyed this movie? The original is my favourite movie of all time and I wasn’t expecting this to be great I was really annoyed they were making a sequel but I actually really enjoyed it.
Yeah this one can’t overcome the original one, but it’s good.
And Binx once said that nothing good could come from the book. Turns out he was wrong.
Technaclly the book was still casting a evil spell as reuniting the sisters only delays their evil
To be fair, Binx was a little biased.
I like the idea that the book is bad but can be used against dark magic if held by a good witch (kind of how the book helped them get a leg up with the salt thing in the first film)
@@rcslyman8929He was pretty justified to be biased it did turn him into a cat that can't die. Took the lives of the children and his little sister. So binx definitely gets the pass for it
You know, I was iffy about this ending at first, as I had started to grow somewhat tired of the “villain redemption” trope, but this honestly warms my heart!
I like it because it's not a full redemption more like a "villain realizing they went to far" and the heroes allowing them a merciful ending
As the oldest of a trio... I relate to her. Life is nothing if you have to walk through it alone.
Like they always said " remember magic comes with a price " and winnifred had paid the price
I almost felt sorry for her, then I remembered how many lives she must have taken...
Yeah, but i remember she only stole one life
This ending made me cry hard. They did a wonderful job with the second movie. 🥰
I commented without watching the clip. I just re-watched and still cried as hard as I did the first time. 😭
Okeeeeyyyyy, I didn't expect this ending. But I think it's an extremely emotional ending. Yes, they have eaten children. But Hocus Pocus 2 is like seeing an old friend, you know your best moments are gone, but it's still always nice to see that friend again.
I don't want to get personal, but it reminds me a lot of when my great-aunt passed away. My grandmother, her sister, passed away in 2012. And for my great-aunt, who was older than her, her life became hell, until in 2013, just one year after my grandmother passed away, my great-aunt passed away. . It was painful, but at least he was able to reunite with her sister.
They reunited in another dimension 😔😔😔😔😔
Who else cried at the ending?🥺😢😭🥺😭
I did. I still do…
it's spelt it's the good ending and the sad ending❤❤❤❤❤

Ultimate power and eternal life is nothing without companions. Rather its a lover, family, or dear friends. Loneliness is the enemy to all, good, neutral, or bad. And love is truly *THE* most powerful force in the universe. When u have love, along side riches, authoritarian respect, knowledge and wisdom, with or without magic and immortality...then u truly have it all.
3:45 - 4:05 I love how Bette delivers this last bit. Makes me teary and smile at the same time.
The genuine joy she has is everything
I think it would have been more poetic to have the new witches (or head witch) to be descendant's of Binx's family line, but it was still a nice movie.
I like how her sisters said goodbye the same way they said it in the first movie
I am GLAD that they brought this classic back.
i was scared they were going to repeat the same thing with stealing the lives of children and ruin a classic film, with a sequel, but the way they decided to go about it in this one luckily didn't ruin the first one at all for me
The ending was perfect
@@udochukwunkwocha3369 i agree
"Winnie...the wind is stealing my fingers." So weirdly funny and sad as hell at the same time.
Man this scene always brings tears to my eyes!!😢😢😢😢 Bette really nailed it in this scene.
Was it the best movie? No.
Was it fun? Yes.
The Mayor's desperate pursuit of a candied apple was hilarious.
A new group of witches was a cute idea. New magic facing off against old.
I loved Billy being back, his team up was pretty hilarious.
Honestly, good movie? No, not really? Mildly forgettable, but honestly... glad I watched.
Bette Midler is such an amazing actress. And I'm glad she pushed for Disney to make this sequel.
Looking back about a year later since it came out. I had mixed feelings about the movie and might give it another go this year but this scene was still very powerful when I first saw it even with my mixed feelings. It might even be one of the most powerful scenes in the movie in addition to the opening where they were kids.
3:52 she’s not even panicking which makes it even more emotional
Winifred she started to cry about her sisters Sarah and mary s death about losing her sisters
This scene broke me down, it shows that love is more important than power
Despite everything Winnifred did this has got to be the saddest ending.
What should of happened is that Winnifred gets taught a lesson, by having her sisters taken from her, gets them back, and makes up for what she did, then they live normal lives. 😢
Rubbish the evil hags got just what they deserved, fed up with Disney trying to redeem their villians
I agree 100%, wholeheartedly!!
they have eaten children. what do you understand under "make up for" that?
That mother in Texas telling parents that this movie is dark and they can be doing any spell they want to and have something come out of ur TV that's evil is crazy. She obviously missed the whole point of the movie. Cuz in the end Winifred chose her sisters over her powers . This is a good movie no matter what others say . She shouldn't be telling others how to parent kids she needs to worry about her own. If she don't like things like this then she shouldn't be watching it to begin with.
Both enfing in both movies were tear jerkers ... Totally loved them..
1:07- An actual look of "What have I done?"
This is one of the greatest endings to a film I have ever seen.
In my opinion, I was a bit disappointed of the ending, at that moment, I thought that the teenage girls were gonna battle the Sanderson Sisters with their magic like a Harry Potter wizard duel instead the sisters just defeated themselves.
Man I’m rewatching this scene and imagining all of the fun stuff they must’ve done, I’m crying-
When winney said sisters that bit made me cry because she was with her sisters again ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This was a great movie. Idk how they managed to make a decent sequel but they did.😊
I love this scene. winnie learns how to love. She loves her sisters.
Anyone can be the lead but it takes talent for someone to play the fan favorite 😭
If they're coming out with a 3rd one, they need to hurry up and get on it already and not wait 30 years
I agrée but I’m not sure how they’d do it. Winifred turned over a new leaf in a way, I wonder if there would be a new threat
This is what I feel after losing my husband last year and my best friend this year. This made me cry😭❤️❤️
This made me cry like a baby 😢😢😢
Damn it. I thought I was finally old enough that Disney movies couldn't make me cry.
A true ending to a masterpiece of a timeless classic
1:09 😢this got emotional because I’ve never seen the Sanderson sisters especially her get so deep with their feelings
I’m not going to try and lie my way out of this. I sobbed while watching this. I still do. Every time.
They acctually made me PITTY Winnie i also LOVE that they made their final words the same
People calling the Sanderson Sisters monsters are missing the point. What made them into the monsters they are? Humanity. They are the True monsters.
murdering and child eating was kinda their idea
@@squattingheads but it was after they were ostracized. It's the butterfly effect. They were kicked out of their community and that led them down the path of black magic.
That really was the perfect ending.
Winnie got the grinch treatment lol
Some people don’t know what they have till it’s gone.
Rewatched this scene just to cry again 😩🤌🏾
Ok I'm not going to lie but this actually made me cry my eyes out 😭😭💔💔 one unforgettable moment very sad but very beautifully done. I swear if she had lost her sisters forever I would have lost my s**t 😂😂😂 and I'm sure a lot of other hocus pocus fans would have as well it was only right she got reunited with them I hope the third movie is just as good as this. Thank you Hollywood for giving us this wonderful sequel 😊👍
Made me cry 🥲😭
I love how the score not only use new pieces, but it also mixes in John Debney's original score. It's a nice way to make the movie come full circle with the original.
This scene made me cry tbh.
I'm fricking crying, _someone please hold and hug me!!_ 🥺😢.
Hugs & holds you so tight, crying with you…
This was by far the saddest scene in the movie maybe because despite Winnie always calling them idiots she still loved Mary and Sarah because they were her sisters her family! And they were all she had and this had to be her biggest regret and mistake that she’d ever made she even says herself “my powers are nothing without my sisters!” Because she values them more than she does her magic she just didn’t realise it or listen to the warning about losing them until it was too late
Honestly people call this scene weak and so unlike Winnie to even act this way but not me I mean think about it for a second Sarah and Mary were the only family that she had left they supported her, cheered her up when she knew she was going to die without book (in the first movie) and even stood by her despite all the insults and her calling them idiots and yes maybe they were idiots in some ways because they weren’t as bright and smart as Winnie and were a bit dumb but they were HER idiots and her love for them was always there.
If Winnie didn’t care about them at all then she wouldn’t of sacrificed her all powerful magic or agree to be brought to them and would’ve instead just left and just gone off alone and taken over Salem but no she didn’t because without her sisters she was nothing and she therefore had nobody and was all alone and it broke Winnie to realise that she’d lost them forever and that she’d never get to see them again until the girls helped her reunite with them and be with them again
How dare Disney make me cry again!
I love that people find this heartwarming and charming (as is Disney fashion), however I personally can't help but feel this was so out of character. These witches are evil, murdering dozens if not hundreds of children and I'm supposed to feel sad that she misses her sisters? I love these characters and they're a big part of my childhood, but at the end of the day they're evil and didn't really earn a Disney-fied heartfelt send-off. I really hope in the next one they just fully envelope these characters as EVIL witches, or at least show that they are remorseful for all the murders they have committed
no amount of power is worth losing the ones you love the most
Why does this scene make me cry?! Their evil but they love each other! Son of a black cat!
Book crying broke me 😭 sisters are forever
Who knew hocus pocus 2 had an ending this gut wrenching😢😢
She murdered kids yet I still felt bad for her
I cried the first time I watched this
She values her sisters awwww.
You almost forget they killed many children in their lifetime when watching this scene. lol
Never would have thought Winifred would have given up power for her sisters, she was a little to mean to them
I love how the book couldn't sit there and let her be alone with out her sisters 😢
Destroying Salam means nothing unless her sisters were by her side.
When they disappear it really made me very sad 😢😢😢😭😭😭.
Damn, i remember watch this movie when i was little on Disney Channel and now almost 30 yo this scene makes me cry like a baby, this is like a goodbye from the Sanderson Sisters to all those kids who are now grow up...
This I think was the turning point for Winnie and her sisters and they could be at peace
This part actually made me boohoo cry like a little kid!
This was such a heartwarming moment. I truly believe Winifred Sanderson turned into a White Witch in the end ❤️
Disney really said "The Snap Part 2."
I’ve watched this movie like 3 times and cried at this part each time! It’s so bittersweet
I'm heartbroken ...I cried watching the ending
Still crying
"Oh, what fun we had🥹"
That hit hard!
I did like the ending considering we got their back story and then the only source of power was a child eating witch who recognized winnie as one of tehir own..the way she was treated snd her being bright she was destined to go down that dark path. It opens up alot to go forward.
However it anyone has read the book. This was not the outcome in the book. It had similar plot witb the 4 sister decendent and they were tricked into lighting the candle.... and the Sanderson sisters echanged souls to come back....what was different was in the book the Sanderson sisters maange doing that to the whole town having all the witches from hell come back in exchange for a human soul.
Basically the girls had to fight an army of witches including the sisters mother witch. Yall fotta read it lol.
And the original ending music coming back in an epic orchestral?! Hell yeah!!
Such a beautiful scene. I love that they ended like this. Emotional moment of realising what is most important.
