More interviews with Horsemouth please. As a huge fan of Jamaican musicianship I would like to hear Horsemouth talk more about 1.His memories of Dennis Brown and John Holt. 2. The creative process Jamaican artists used in the 70's to create all those amazing songs. 3. The unique phrasing in reggae basslines 4. His thoughts on why and how so much great music has been created in Jamaica.

My Grandmother was also a Healer. In Trinidad we call the revivalist (kumina, pocomania) tradition, "spiritual baptist".

Come on give it up for reggae drummers , the most unique drummers on the planet. Combination of African roots rhythms-jazz and rnb. One of the baddest reggae drummers was Grizzly of Steel Pulse. Carly Barrett in my eyes is still No1 but Leroy and Sly are up there. Too many…Style Scott & the left handed drummer of Chalice..

This drum rhythm was used in Fish Market riddim that then influenced Dennis the Menace to make the Pounder Riddim and is now used in reggaeton!

Really love Pocomania because it put you in the spirtual realm. Thank God for the Rastas and for all their contributions they made over the world.

Yes many rasta were killed before the Queen's visit to "prevent" the Monarch from seeing them....That's part of the dark history we seldom get to hear or read about....Echoes ot the Green Bay killings...Thank You Big Youth...

Watching a Rockers VHS tape when I was 14 showed me what reggae was all about. Until then I had only heard Bob and Ziggy, maybe some ub40. Then Horsemouth changed my life. Full respect to the legend 🇯🇲🦁

Interesting!! Give thanks for this. I had a uncle in pocominia and other uncle that beat the drums of cuminia.
However I didn’t know John Canoe was a ppl group. I thought it was a celebration of the great African, that the Europeans called John Canoe. I must look further into this, thanks for sparkling my interest.

1966, St. Lucia, my connection to the Queen too. Won her touring car in a raffle.
Educational interview. Insightful on the connection between Pocomania (new to me) and the rasta beat.
Terrible events for the Rasta community in 1966. That story needs to be told in depth too.
