- Nassim Taleb, Universa Investments distinguished scientific advisor and ‘The Black Swan’ author, joins 'Squawk Box' to discuss the latest market trends, what to make of the market sell-off, the Fed's inflation fight, interest rate outlook, bitcoin's volatility, and more.
What's the point of having a guest if you're not going to let him talk and complete a full thought?
Literally all they do on this network. These guys are clowns.
Idiots
Why inviting guests if you are going to interrupt them in every sentence… Extremely unprofessional guy
😭
Yeah that was so irritating, cryptobros tend to shout down the opposition, it’s part of the cult training
no the host actually had a backbone and called him out for his incorrect narrative which is why this black swan guy tried to change the su ject and his reason for not liking it which he called callled out for too 😂. I love it.
Joe is always like that. He is a rude guy who interrupts every guest and never listens to them. CNBC is stupid for keeping him on.
Thank you, had to scroll through 10 BTC / NVDA bulls to see that I am not the only one thinking so
He is a very smart guest . I wish you would let him talk .
No danger Joe got over excited
That cross talk is hard to listen to. Broadcasting is not cross talking.
JOE IS SO ANNOYING!!! LET NASSIM TALK!!!! FIRE JOE!!!
Black swan author watches hosts debate each other…
😂
Joe seems particularly triggered
You call him "triggered" because he's responding and engaging.
Shows what a tool you become using the comments section on YT. A little girl's comment.
Can't handle the truth...
Dementia
Depends on your finances . 1000$ in NVDA200K is 4000 NVDA200K if it goes to 50% of ath in 2024 thats a 600% gain. If it goes equal to ath . Its a 1200% gain.
BOOOOOOO`T
Joe is definitely the "Squawk" in Squawk Box. Won't let the guest speak. Won't shut his mouth. When he retires I'm throwing a party.
Well, what makes me an outlier I guess! I am 57 year-old English immigrant, with zero interest in technology, and yet I am 110% committed to Bitcoin. I would describe myself as an extreme conservative/libertarian. I have been involved in UK politics for some time, and the main thing that drove me to study Bitcoin and ultimately recognise its value to Humanity was the threat posed by an over-weening government, first in the UK and lately in the US also. I regard the CBDC as the final brick in the wall of the totalitarian prison the world's governments are building for us. And Bitcoin is the ultimate defence against a tyrannical government.r.....I've been engaged in active trading and managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 24Bitcoin....I'm especially grateful to Aldona Šabanienė, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.
She mostly interacts on Telegrams, using the user-name.
@AldonaSabaniene.
Trading with an expert is the best strategy for beginners and busy investor s who have little or no time to monitor their trades.
Nice info, i appreciate your concern this will help a lot especially to the young bitcoin investors who have no or lesser knowledge on how bitcoin market works.
It was quite challenging to understand the different trends on my own until i found out about Aldona. Trading made easy.
Who else is watching this and making so much profit with BTC Cloud Stack
me right now
as a newbie to Bitcoin mining, Btc Cloud Stack changed my life.
A lot of people are just talking about this service, what can an investor make from this service monthly?
$10k monthly, but it depends on the plan you purchase with them
Oh wow, I am going to get started with them now. I am also new to bitcoin investments like this , and this looks much easier
Start early with diversified investments in Bitcoin, stocks, bonds, and real estate. Maximize contributions to tax-advantaged accounts like 401(k)s and IRAs. Regularly review and adjust your strategy to ensure security
I feel sympathy for our country, low income people are now suffering to survive yet inflation and recession keep increasing daily, many families can't even enhance the good cost of living anymore. You've helped me a lot Sir Brian! Imagine I invested $50,000 and received $190,500 after 14 days
Very possible! especially at this moment. Profits can be made in many different ways, but such intricate transactions should only be handled by seasoned market professionals.
Some persons think inves'tin is all about buying stocks; I think going into the stock market without a good experience is a big risk, that's why I'm lucky to have seen someone like mr Brian C Nelson.
Finding yourself a good broker is as same as finding a good wife, which you go less stress, you get just enough with so much little effort at things
Brian demonstrates an excellent understanding of market trends, making well informed decisions that leads to consistent profit
Bitcoin is not a hedge it’s a solution to this financial crisis wait and see ladies and gentlemen
😂😂😂 nope
Unless a person has a 140+ IQ AND has put at least 100 hours into studying Bitcoin, they probably don't understand it. I had to spend thousands of hours before it clicked in my brain.
@@kenb5279youre still clueless mate
Started off with Doge but it wasn’t long before I understood it’s Bitcoin only going forward
@@Manchesterkoihave fun staying poor and fighting inflation uneducated no coiner 🤡
Can they fire Joe already? He interrupts every guest they bring on to bring up his own opinions. These guys are experts. Let. Them. Talk.
I wish he'd let Nassim talk
Don't let Nvidia's NVDA200K pass you by. This is a monumental moment in history, and you don't want to be left out of the loop. Get in on the ground floor now!
BOOOOOTTTTTT
sometimes watching all this just breaks my heart that no one is talking about BTC Cloud Stack.
lol Btc Cloud Stack is the best thing that has ever happened to newbies in the crypto world
facts
Nope all the best profit is been had already in the early days BTC paid for my car and house cash , nowadays I make around 70 percent a halving
you should try using Btc Cloud stack
wow so you guys use them too??
i use them too , one of the best thing to happen to me.
In your last two videos you suggested Btc Cloud stack , i must say I am impressed with there quality of payouts
The official swaps in By-bit has lagged!
I just put up video to show this
When you swap it gives you almost x8 money.
thanks for bringing up NVDA200K pair - Watching all your videos when I get notified
BOOOOTTTT
Joe gets excited and won't have a conversation.
We need more bag holders
He's Right, if not articulate.
Bitcoin is not a hedge, bc it craters when securities drop. It's not useful as a currency bc it is too volatile.
Can you make money speculating with it, Of Course. but you can do that with anything
It will stop being volatile when its market cap starts to approach the market cap of the dollar. That is when the dollar is effectively dead and people will actually start using Bitcoin.
There is no such thing as a "Hedge" during a liquidity squeeze. No one, worth their salt, has ever said that Bitcoin is some sort of "Inverse stock" hedge.... where do you morons get this from?
About, the Lebanese Pound??? 😅😆😂🤣
@@chingron Ha Ha Ha, you Bitcoin Nuts never fail. the US Govt will Ban Bitcoin if it ever becomes a threat
Correct sir 👌🏻🥂
Nobody is clicking on a video to hear Joe speak but he always does his best to speak more than the interviewee.
Joe doesn't have the financial knowledge to be a host on CNBC. Nassim doesn't believe BTC has any true value doesnt mean he is saying it will go to zero. He's only saying its unpredictable and is now a speculative assets not money. And Joe please close your mouth and let the wise man speak.
I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks and made about $246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded again and now I am rounding up close to a million
You work for 42yrs to have $2m in your retirement, Meanwhile some people are putting just $20k in a meme coin for just few months and now they are multi millionaires. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life
I have made quite a stride invest|ng on my own but I am aware of the benefits of consulting with a professional but haven't found one yet
I made a lot of mistakes at the beginning of my journey
I will advise you should stop trading on your own if you keep losing.
If you can, then get a professional to trade for you i think that way your assets are more secure
Jesus let the man speak!
I don’t think Jesus was there
you work for 40yrs to have $1m in your retirement, meanwhile some people are putting just $10k into trading from just few months ago and now they are millionaires..,
yep....get it while it's hot and welcome to the millionaire club,,
the thing about being successful is working towards it smartly and not just talking about it
i've been trying to trade but i keep making losses and it's frustrating
Trading is easy, but trading the right coin without a time-tested strategy of a broker is incredibly hard.
that's true, a lot of people today have been
having tons of disappointments in forex and crypto trading in light of helpless direction and awful specialists,,..
Joe‘s constant interruption of the interviewee is super annoying.
Dude how much gold have you used to buy something
"smarter the person, the less they allow him to speak"......gaurav mahajan
CNBC really scrape the bottom of the barrel with the hosts.
Why they interrupt each other?
This old man anchor needs to retire 😂
Fire him already
Nassim is 100% right, Bitcoin is just a speculative asset, not a currency or a hedge
The two commentators *adore* the sound of their own voice. They're full of simplistic notions, whilst we're straining to hear what Taleb has to say over the top of their cacophony.
Summation: “Angry man yells at Bitcoin”
Taleb NEEDS to go to JRE. He'll let you talk!
2:37 I think only now I’m understanding his critique of bitcoin. Is the point is that bc it’s different than gold, its exposure to black swan events is not the same as gold. Meaning it could go to 0?
This was embarrassing to watch. Invite someone to your show just to NOT LET THEM TALK? I really wanted to listen to the guy, but the news anchor or whatever its called in the USA kept interrupting.
Just WOW👎
Can anyone explain why they are not letting him speak?
arab guy
Joe Kernan keeps talking over Nassim Taleb to prevent him from making his point.
If you are not letting the man speak, why invite him to speak?
Great insight Mr. TALEB.😅
It is 2024 and people still do not understand bitcoin
I know, it’s crazy. I think at the end of cycle when it’s eventually hits six figures there will be a lot more believers.
Joe needs to go
Let the guy talk, for God's sake
The inherent value of bitcoin is the amount of energy that is consumed to maintain it's digitized currency status. And that in itself is a deficit.
can you let him talk pleasssssseeeee?
:D
How much gold have you used to buy newpapers ? Today
0:20 - "it's just a Speculative asset, just like the NASDAQ" -- Joe Kernen
Joe gets it, all assets prices are ultimately speculative in nature.
the chemistry between Taleb and Kernen is sizzling.
Silly man doesn’t understand that being in bitcoin for 5 years = 700% return. A 25% dip isn’t “asset melting” ….guy doesn’t understand
his bank account is proof you don't know what ur talking about. He's the author of the most cited book of the 21st century.
No it isn't as that is the gross earnings percentage if you sold at every top and bought every bottom which is impossible
YOU USE LOGS IN FINANCE YOU !!!!DIOT
@@Manchesterkoi no bro. Look at 5 year bitcoin chart. When bitcoin was 70k. It was 700%
People view things so short term nowadays it's just insane.
CNBC hosts are not permitted to talk down BTC.
How the hell do they think this is remotely watchable or good tv? What the hell are the show directors doing?
What isn't speculative?
Man… I was hoping to hear NNT speak but instead the talking heads have 70% of the whole 5 minutes… really badly moderated!
I could not finish the video because of the interruptions! Let the dude talk!
"Everyone gets a bitcoin at a price they deserve" - can't remember who said it..
The two "Desert People" dislike not being able to charge usury on Bitcoin.
“Ego sometimes betrays you” - yes, you Nassim Taleb
Bitcoin's value depends on dumb people willing to pay something for nothing. That ensures that Bitcoin will be around forever because stupid people are in endless supply. The interviewer (who was afraid to let his guess educate him) is a clear example.
come back in 1 year and cry because you missed buying at 1k 10k 50k and 200k. The only lier here is you.
Weird to make an argument for value with an appeal to longevity and then "buying a newspaper" lol they are so desperate
NOBODY has any idea what will happen with Bitcoin prices.
No but there trend is your friend and the trend is up.
I mean, it's been a pretty good tracker of money debasement since it's inception so... if you assume unelected politicians will continue to debase fiat currencies, you can be pretty sure the price will go up.
Many have had their Bitcoin hacked too. Don’t think the government can’t track it
@@HershalHerowitz like NNT says, a turkey's life is great until just before thanksgiving
@@rastaplank17 when BTC cratered was when inflation was at its highest
Long term its wortless.
No Internet, no crypto. Facts
Let the guests fuxking talk
So the dude said it was a trash store of value at $30,000 and now it's still trash store of value at $55,000. The more I watch these moments the more I know it's the most obvious play of the 21st century so far.
"What is the internet? I dunno I don't get it...why would I buy a book online when I could just walk to the bookstore and get it now?"
He never said it was trash. He simply is saying its not a "hedge". Nothing about store of value was said. When the markets drop you can expect Bitcoin to follow.
@@Mike-dd8bd He's the only one that seems to think that's how bitcoin is viewed. It's pretty obvious that it's a better hedge againts the US dollar than anything else out there. People love to cherry pick time frames to suit their bias narratives but at the end of the day all you have to do is zoom out more than 5 years and it's blatantly obvious you should want to own some. Waffling on about it dropping with the rest of the market over the course of a weekend is utterly pointless and frankly makes him look like a fool.
@@HershalHerowitz By definition bitcoin is a speculated asset. One day however that might change.
@@Mike-dd8bd fair enough. I’ll speculate that it’ll up keep going up like it always has.
@@HershalHerowitz Same, I think it will go up. But I realize it won`t go straight up.
"Lots of people like crazy stuff" Amen brother
Nassim is right! At least Ethereum has a use case.
Okay fellows lemme tell you story about a guy who once created this magical thing that some people took interest in and financed the operation by borrowing at below 0% rates. He told the other people to do the same and then those people to other people. Ultimately they couldn't find more people so this thing they created has reached its maximum potential from where the only place it could go was to the downside.
You are speaking of the FIAT money system. Correct?
The main issue is that the governments of the world can end crypto with a single mouse click. That's how stupid this whole thing is.
No they can’t. But you know what is stupid? They can create trillions of dollars with the click of a mouse and make you poorer through inflation.
I’ll stick with bitcoin over that joke…
@@chingron 100% the governments can end all crypto with a snap of the fingers.
@@worldsustainabilitymural3128 Go ahead and believe the government does not control the internet. And without the internet, crypto cannot be transacted/verified. That is how amazingly dumb people have become.

Good line.
You can't short Bitcoin there is no mechanism that allows you to take a position against bitcoin.
@@gursharnsekhon07 incorrect....there are otc exchanges/brokers allowing premium sellers to sell you put option contract strikes on every 1,000 below market price. You can buy the 25,000 bitcoin put strike so you turn $1000 into $1 million from bitcoin collapsing one day.
Given recent crash there are two options. If you don't have usdt hold. Selling now is same as selling potentially life-changing lottery ticket. If you have USDT buy more. My top pick for buying are Versidium, Kaspa, Injective. I belive there is minimum 10X return on each of them.
Unbelievable there are still people that are supposedly financially experts that don't see the value of Bitcoin

Nice video. Not a criticism, I enjoy your insights. I tend to think prices could go higher if NVDA200K rockets. But understand the logic for sandbagging estimates. My opinion is NVDA200K breaks 1, perhaps reaches 10 ATH, if conditions are right. But broader forces are at play now. We’re moving into really unknown territory. And these entities are shrewd. I think there’s massive manipulation ahead. If NVDA200K survives that, well, we’re likely in for a good pump.
