That video is a thing of beauty, you see an experienced knife enthusiast try unsuccessfully to stir enthusiasm from a 'normal' person whilst simultaneously seeing an experienced wife expertly extract hobby expense information from her husband.

Hilarious! My wife is the exact same. Its a knife and it cuts, which to be honest is somewhat correct. We as knife nerds just have so much time invested, we can discern quality from crap.

The Spyderco style is the reason I can't convince myself to buy one. They look like $2 service station knives. Sorry Spyderco, I know you make quality tools, but the whole spiderweb stuff and spider and big eye hole thing ... maybe I'm just a minimalist in thought.
I've never looked at Spyderco knives that way, but I guess with the colourful moulded frn look and so many cheap clones and rip offs out there now people could associate that aesthetic with cheapness. For me, I'm still still stuck with my first impression from the '90's when adventure/"adrenaline" sports were the big thing and Spyderco was mostly associated with rock climbing (ie Cliff Hanger) and river sports etc. My mate at the climbing gym had a bright (orange?) handled serrated Spyderco rescue knife that I still subconsciously lust after all these years later. I'm actually waiting for my first Spyderco to arrive in the mail, a Ladybug Salt, hopefully it will finally quench that 20 year thirst, ha ha. Like hooking up with your mates high school sweetheart that you also had a crush on many years later after they divorce.

I have watched a lot of knife videos, but none of them come even close to this one. The expressions on your wife's face were priceless. My wife also believes that many of my different knives are really the same. Your wife has the patience of a saint. I cannot even imagine what my wife would do if I ever tried to take my her through my collection. One thing is for sure, she would be adding up all the prices in her head as we went along. Ten thumbs up!

another friggin hilarious video. I love how she actually gives you the time of day and tries to show interest though, my partner won't even hold my knives, she looks at them (if I insist) and has her hands by her sides. She can't make it any more obvious that she isn't interested in the slightest. Keep it up mate and the editing is spot on!

What a great idea! Though it's terribly deflating, too -- here, we go around like "this knife makes me so cool," and everybody else is like "oh, a knife, which is something I can bother to use as a screwdriver" but in fact we can forget the expensive knives and get a Z Hunter and win the girl the way Nick did!
