Nice! I'm a 37 year old Aussie who lives in the US and recently went to North Carolina (Asheville) for a trip. First of several times seeing Grinspoon was when I was about 14. Stoked to see they have fans here!
Started listening to these guys when I was 16. Nearly 25 years later and you guys still rock. Shit I'm old lol. Hopefully you guys can come play in Melbourne again one day. If there's any of us left after covid lol. Keep rocking
I remember a day when i was isolared and a bit alone and i couldn't feel unhappy because these guys, legends or musicians whichever, were pumping out the tunes in a live voncert on tv and i could not bring myself to accept unhappiness because Grinspoon was showing me otherwise.
I am a 60 plus Canadian that has been a very dialed in fan since 2002 I heard the green EP while on holidays . now have almost all the albums and can play most of the big tunes on my guitar . LOVE THIS BAND. watch the 2005 big day out show It's awesome
American Grinspoon fan here. Been into the band since they got included into the Gran Turismo 3 soundtrack. Didn't get why Phil and the boys didn't get more love in the States - they have some really solid bangers, especially New Detention and TK&SP. Guess they were always more destined to be one of those secret-handshake groups over here. Also interesting to see Pat play a guitar that's not a Gretsch clone.
Also I'm shook that Phil still can sing the songs in their studio key. He's pushing 43 here (as is Pat - fuck, Joe has grey hair now). At this point most bands would lower the key just to best accommodate the changes in the lead singer's voice. And Phil should have a lower range - the strained foghorn voice he puts on for the more aggro Grinners songs (namely songs from Guide and Easy) cannot be good on his vocal cords, plus there was the time he got super-addicted to alcohol and meth. The fact that he made it to 43 and can still sing the songs with very little changes (save for censoring out "fuck" and "shit" from "Lost Control" - must be a TV broadcast) is a miracle.
My Grinners ranking: 1. New Detention 2. Thrills, Kills and Sunday Pills 3. Easy 4. Guide to Better Living 5. Six to Midnight 6. Black Rabbits 7. Alibis and Other Lies
Mid North Coast treatin Phil really well, he looks great. Saw them at Panther’s in 99, I know it was an epic show, but both Phil and i can’t specifically remember it lol…Supergroup.
Oh Grinners,The Best(Modern ACDC for me personally. My 1st mosh pit experience this band at Sydney Uni Roundhouse. My Favourite Band Ever! This brings back great memories

Love that every gig they do Phil still says we’re a band from Lismore.
I bought their CD in 2002 while I was studying in Melburne then I fell in love with them

09:37 🤘
Dat gut doh
Just Ace 4:22
Crowd is so dead smh.
It was about 40 deg and they played 30 mins of about 5 hours. Most of the crowd werent there to see them. Don’t expect people to be going apeshit
Might’ve helped if they played some of their A material
A bit burnt out
I can’t fn take Phil seriously in tight blue jeans and white sneakers. Been in cities too long now.
Being back Recovery Grinspoon minus the drugolas.
about the only time he wasn't off his face !! respect !!
didn't know peter dutton played bass! cool!
It really isn't well known. But makes me see him in a whole new light
wtf ??
The last concert before the year turned to shit!
Typical Sydney crowd...almost comatose during the Lost Control lead break, you guys gotta get off the juice.
Happy to lend them my name!
