    That's Teo Davidov. His family lived in Denver until a couple of years ago when they moved to Florida. I used to see him and his dad practicing at the park near my house. I believe he's 13 now. There are other videos of him with Patrick Mouratoglou on youtube.

    In theory it's cool. I would love for him to make it big with this style, as a show at least it would be great.
    Now... I don't really know his and his father relationship but it feels kind of a father imposed way of life. I just hope the kid has voice in what he wants to do, because it looks like all his life decisions are taken by the father.
    Let's see if Teo's name can go far. Wish him the best.

    So many comments here about the Dad "pushing" he's way on to Teo. I find it strange that mostly it's when it comes to sports that people insinuate that it's the parents trying to impose themselves on their kids. When in actual fact, aspiring parents do this every day, from schooling to everyday interactions. How many children have become Doctors, Accountants, Lawyers just because their parents or close relatives are/were? We all push our kids in a direction we think is best for them. It's not just in sports, it's every day life, and in most cases it is needed. The world is very distracting to young people. Success in anything worth while needs to be planned and executed with determined intent.
    Regarding the Two forehands..this can work. It will just be an additional weapon available to him. Tennis keeps evolving. He will adapt and make it successful.

    His game is really really good. I haven't seen someone with that much talent on the junior tour in the US. However, from my experience, there is only 1 thing I would change. His righty forehand sometimes has too long of a follow through, wasting maybe half a second on his stroke, thereby slowing down his recovery. Anyway, hope to see you play on the pro tour soon!

    A good, healthy and balanced nutrition that includes healthy animal protein would be very beneficial for any child to reach their full growth and development potential.
    Proteins are the building blocks of muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments and the human body as a whole and no one needs them more than a child who is continuously growing and developing, and if that child is an athlete then they will need them even more.

    Seems like it's going to become increasingly more difficult to play with two forehands as he gets older and the ball starts coming a lot faster. At the professional and even college level, the ball is hit so hard nowadays it's sometimes difficult to react in time to switch grips much less switch hands. Vic Braden believed that there was no such thing as a right or wrong way to grip the racquet, only a grip with the least amount of adjustment, promoting efficiency. If that line of thinking is correct and it's applied to the idea of hitting two forehands, it may not bode well for any professional tennis aspirations. Hope I'm wrong because the kid seems talented and appears to be a very hard worker.

    • @DanTuber
      @DanTuber Рік тому

      I'd love to see a pro player on tour with 2 forehands, but like you said i think it would be extremely difficult given the speed of play.

    • @aaronjosephs6233
      @aaronjosephs6233 Рік тому

      @@DanTuber My thinking is that he must be learning a backhand for certain types of shots, I think returning a first serve at 120+ you need to learn a block backhand. Also I wonder if he has a backhand slice, in general the forehand slice is not nearly as effective (although TBF there are plenty of players who don't have much of a slice in the top 10). But in standard baseline rallies even at the pro level two forehands could potentially be a huge advantage, and it sounds like he's going to have two different serves which is also going to be really hard to deal with for other players. I guess I'd also be worried for him it just seems like mentally he's going to have a lot more to train and even think about during matches which could backfire, for example a decent paced ball comes to him and he has to choose between his two forehands, or maybe even a backhand if he feels it's too fast to switch grips. That's a lot for a person to think about during a split second
