Andrew, you are insanely talented at giving your unscripted advice at the end of the video. I wish I had your ability to describe something so accurately with intricate details/words without pausing at all. Hell, even writing this comment took me a while.
He does use a script, but yes Andrew has the it factor. Atleast here in UA-cam land!🤔😉😇
Man, it takes me an hour to write a simple short email. There’s just so many ways to say something and none of them seem right lol
I love Kristi's input. Earth bound, realistic review comments on top of Andrew's in depth reviews. Nice job to both of you.
I have owned the fives for a month and was so blown away by them that i bought the nines. My intent with them was to build small stands for them and mimic a smaller version of the heresy iv (in appearance). I have listened to them for about a week now and haven't noticed what you are hearing with them but i will admit this video has made me want to tune in a lot more to see if i notice these things. I enjoy your reviews and look forward to more.
Just got a pair of The Nines. They’re pretty fantastic. Without any adjustments in the app and in my room I think I hear the “cabinet resonance” they are referring to. To my ears it’s more of a congestion in the low mids.
I quickly resolved it and even think I’ve found the secret sauce for amazing separation and depth.
I actually turned ON the Dynamic Bass EQ, then I set the room config to “corner” which drops the low end 6db. And then did very slight EQ adjustments to taste.
Added lots of frequency separation and depth. Almost like a high pass filter in a way.
Andrew and Kristi, thank you so much for this review. I purchased the Nines when they came out and experienced the 'chestiness' you described, despite playing with the speaker placement, and EQ. I wasn't experiencing the same level of excitement many other reviewers were having with the Nines. I even paired with a sub, which slightly improved things (like you said). But it just wasn't right. After your review I returned the Nines for the Sevens and it has been almost a day and night difference. I love them. Cheers to you both!
I experienced the same effect with rp600MII. The rp500mII are cleaner and better like the sevens. The smaller woofer blended and responded better. I'd get the sevens over the nines in a second
Just wanted to say thanks for the informative review. Ordered a pair of Sevens this afternoon for music listening only. Your presentation was a big part of the decision process. Kudos to a great team!
Glad to hear that there're more powered speakers out there - and they are good
I bought the Sevens on Crutchfield almost a month before Klipsch released them. They are everything I wanted and I am using them on a desktop gaming setup. The are OUTSTANDING!
Thanks for your input. I was really aiming toward the Nines in replacing my Fives, but after measuring I realized the Nines were just too large for my viewing and listening angles. Now that you've anointed the Sevens I can move forward! 😊😊😊
Great review guys! I have to say I’ve been very interested in the 9s and even thought for a second to simplify my System completely, not sure I’m ready for that though yet in the long term! I wish wish wish klipsch would use this finish for their passive line!!
Sooo, I pulled the trigger on the Sevens, they arrived two days ago all the way down under. You are right, the clarity is superb. I am hearing detail I never heard with the smaller Audioengine 5+ (with 8” sub). The “immersion” in the sound stage is wonderful and I reaction you would have to go thousands of dollars higher in a separate system to make noticeable gains on the sevens. You are also correct in that all the way up to full volume they don’t distort at all, something the 5+ s would do depending on the recording. Whilst I thought full power would be louder than it is, and despite being quite loud, being realistic even sitting in front of them isn’t fatiguing to the ears (or head!). I hear them very adequately in other parts of the house, way more so that the 5+ s. But of course if you are listening the the sound quality, you are sitting in front of them anyway. I’ll probably upgrade the 8” Audioengine sub for a 10” reference from Klipsch but the bass is really, really good, I’d prefer to sell off the Audioengine as a complete package to mostly fund a Klipsch sub. Unless you think there is a better, similarly priced sub to match the sevens. Thanks for your review, I am glad I took your advice.
I own The Fives, and love them. Now I want to switch them to my computer setup, and get The Sevens to add to my SVS Micro 3000 and Uturn Orbit Plus! Great review, as always!
Cool review video, my close neighbor like a mom to me, wanted help putting a new very simple system together, the sevens are looking good for her, she still has her old Klipsch 12 in powered sub still going strong! 🙏🏽👍🏽👍🏽🔥🔥
Thanks Andrew and Kristi!
Great review and I appreciate you sharing your honest opinion. My mind has officially been changed from Nines to Sevens!🙏🏽 I plan on using these wherever needed from bedroom two bathroom to my daughter's room to the garage to the backyard.
I Hope you both enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
@@KristiWright I've always appreciated both of you and the help you've given me over the years has been very valuable!
Well done as usual A & K, very insightful video review! Having the Fives for my high end PC gaming rig I can see the 7's and 9's fulfilling a lot of people's needs for quality sound in a bigger space. For my purposes the 5's are great!! Shame that the 9's don't seem to knock it out of the park like the 7's:(
I have The Nines in a 16x14 living room and they sound fantastic, they do hit pretty hard but since I don't have The Sevens I am not hearing the differences but I also don't hear that resonance or the impacting on voices you both state in this review. I also am not using dynamic bass, my room is mostly empty as we move back in so we'll have to see how they sound next weekend when we have more furniture and drapes in the windows. All I know is right now, they sound incredible, I have the Klipsch stands coming as well which should help.
This is the review I’ve been waiting on before pulling the trigger and upgrading my Klipsch “The Sixes” that I use with my MoFi UltraDeck Turntable. I had 100% planned to buy the “THE NINES” and I’m so glad I fought myself and decided to be patient and wait for your review! And I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it again in the future… I truly don’t understand how your channel doesn’t have AT LEAST a million (if not more) subscribers! I am a very critical person and I’m legit OCD and I can’t make it thru most people’s videos for more than a few minutes because they either just get on my nerves or the room is a mess they are filming in or the video itself is chopped up and doesn’t flow etc.. And many times they just repeat what they’ve read or heard from other reviewers or they are paid by the brand and give a kiss a$$ untruthful review! You are the absolute polar opposite of any of that and I genuinely enjoy your videos and watch them even when it’s a product I’m not interested in because I want to support you guys and just enjoy your delivery so much in all capacities! And the fact that your wonderful intelligent wife Kristi enjoys your hobby with you and has such incredible feedback/opinions also is just the icing on the already decadent cake! Keep doing what your doing and I wish you guys success beyond your imagination! 👍🏽
Thanks for the straight up, honest review that we always get from you and Kristi. I was tempted to pull the trigger on getting a set of the Nines and am glad after this review that I didn’t do that. The Sevens appear to be a reworked and improved version of the Sixes. I’ve had a pair of the Sixes for the last two years and really like them. For now it looks like sticking with the Sixes would be the best option for my wallet and keeping the wife happy. Thanks again for a great review.
This video changed my mind from going with the 9s to going after the 7s. Thank y’all for the great review.
I really appreciate the comparisons between these speakers and soundbars. I’d definitely consider the sevens against any soundbar for when my sonos arc eventually needs replacing. Thanks for all the practical use info like how well the app works and cable lengths.
Do you like your Arc? I find it to be dull and lifeless. I'm looking for a replacement and may give the Sevens a try. I just think I'd miss the surrounds.
@@stevethomas2285 I do but then again it’s my first experience of better than tv speaker audio. I have a more complicated music setup but I wanted something separate that just works for tv/movies, I love that it actually has bass and enhanced dialogue feature helps me a lot. For the price I paid at the time I think it’s great I also only have the soundbar. I figure something like the fives or the seven’s would blow it out of the water aside from the surround aspect so I can see why your interested.
@@stevethomas2285 I am the same. It sounds OK but the life is lacking :(
Thinking of replacing my setup with the sevens.
Nines all day, NO SUB needed, ordered them factory direct, no complaints, they can be the "endgame" speaker. I haven't heard another powered bookshelf that's even close. The low end is insane for their size and can dig lower than most woofers twice their size, if you don't want the low end, dial it back on the eq, or take boost off, that's what it's there for, but the boost and eq is perfect for listening at 30-50 db because they sound full at any volume level, they don't have to be cranked to throw low end, even in a larger room. If you want to spend extra dough, go ahead and buy the sub, but you most likely won't need one with the nine depending on the room. Hes just trying to help push Klipsch subs (because it makes Klipsch happy) to sale more because nobody needs the subs really at this point when the bookies dig plenty low as they are, unless a very very big room and want to get in the 15-20hz region for movies.
100% agree. while its not super loud these can play 23hz-30hz clean without distortion. If anyone can find me another active speaker that can do that ill be impressed. My phantom 2 can play down to 22hz however its not clean below 30hz and its only in specific locations in my room.
Great video and I that you went with the "happy medium". I've always thought the FIVES (and now the SEVENS) would a great alternative for those in apartments and smaller houses. Especially those with turntables as these have phono inputs. Personally though, after owning some Jamo all-in-one powered speakers I use with my computer...I sort of regret bypassing the fun of having mix and matching separates in the amplifier/DAC and passive speakers.
I’m late to the parade, but I feel the same about the RP6000 vs RP8000s, the 6 inchers are much more balanced overall compared to the big brothers. Seems to be the same here. I’ve been looking for a soundbar replacement for my bedroom, and I don’t want a soundbar. So this works perfectly. Definitely will go with 7s rather then 9s. Cool RCA cables though. Great video and conversation! 😇😅
Hey Andrew - great review as always. I remember when you reviewed the KLH model Threes, which, I believe, have the same size drivers as the Nines, you also commented on the bass in that speaker as well. I know the model Threes are passive and the Nines are powered, but are the bass issues similar or do they differ?
I have The Fives. For me, it was when you said the 7’s and 9’s are in the same family as the RP line. Maybe it’s because I have them on a 65” wide by 1.5” thick live edge computer desk. But they’re not flat and even sometimes somewhat muddy. I love the soundstage that the small cabinets in near field make, but the tonal quality from my 280f’s is so much better. Very likely will swap my 5’s with 7’s. Thanks!
Oooh, I am upgrading my Audioengine 5+ wireless and sub. I use them just for music, A great little system but just fall short when pumped up loud. You’re review is awesome, was so hung up trying to work out whether to go 7s or 9s. Now I am leaning toward the 7s and keeping the audio engine sub for that extra bit of low freq response. But, I mostly listen to rock and country so haven’t totally decided yet!!!
I’ve owned The Fives for 3 months now. Small apartment. Primarily used for TV/Movie watching. Got a great deal when the price dropped. I love them though after watching your review I’m aspiring for The Sevens. Nicer finish for sure and an upgrade in sound quality.
I really wish you could give some idea of how these compare to the sixes. They sixes were a previous generation but seem to have nearly identical specs to the sevens. I've owned a pair of the Sixes for 4 years and still absolutely adore them. That being said I still can't help but wonder how their sound compares to the updated Sevens. Incredible review though!
Thanks to you both. I enjoy the news on these though I am hard core A/V, as my wife and I do spend the mornings with the stereo and french press.
Kristi and Andrew, your channel is REALLY informatve & useful.
I bought the Polk Resererve 700 mostly based on your review, and I love them!
I applied some moderate bass EQ to dampen my room response, and now I have a soundstage I always was dreaming of!
Marko can you please tell us what apm are you using. I am also thinking of buying the R700 thanks
I have an Onkyo A9010 amp and a Topping DX3 Pro dac.
I plan to replace the amp with something really quiet. Probably two monoblocks to have a great channel separation.
But honestly, my current amp (rated at 2x44 W) is more than enough.
You both do such a great job.
As always this was a great review and a joy to watch.
Happy Easter to you and your families.
Got a pairs of the nines special edition for like $750 and I’m so happy with it. Also got a pair of stands from Klipsch for $200. They are killing it, movies and music. I love the nines.
I seen a few of The Nines reviews but you took it to another level by having all 3 odd balls in house. I agree the 7's are the way to go with a good sub. Just need to pull out the Google Chromecast Audio and it's WiFi ready ! Great video guys ✊🏼
Have the Fives… and do love them, but never thought their low-volume performance was great; they really need to be at or above medium volume to sound their best. So glad to hear the Sevens get this kind of review, and the honesty about the Nines, which I also would have instinctually leaned towards. If/when I am ready to upgrade my home office setting, I will definitely lean towards replacing my Fives with the Sevens! 👍
Any issues with the fives shutting off on their own? Or issue with them connecting to tv? I’ve been hesitating buying them as I’ve seen a lot of complaints. Wondering if the issue has been fixed with the sevens.
Buying the Sevens for our bedroom:)
Thanks for a great and interesting review
Great review and, yes, the Sevens, as shown in your video, are simply gorgeous and looks matter too. On the other hand, I'm not yet ready for powered speakers, over 2 grand if adding a sub can get very decent speakers and amp and the choice to add and replace and then change/improve the sound.
It would be interesting to see if Klipsch will improve the cabinet of the Nines and reduce the resonance of low frequencies.
I have had the Fives since they came out and adore them. I was not a fan of Klipsch in the past (never owned any), but their sound and convenience has really won me over and made me a huge fan. The Fives are a smart buy right now since they are only about $500, which is a great value for what you get. But I had a feeling the Sevens would be worth the upgrade and you seem to have confirmed that. Just a lot more of a good thing that my room could benefit from and I know I would appreciate. I think Klipsch engineers have hit a home run with this line. I already was thinking that the Nines are just too big for my basement man cave. (Their massive height won't fit under my cabinets.) I think they need a big space. The fact that you concluded that the Sevens have a more balanced sound just adds to my conclusion. Thanks Andrew 😃. And Kristi, too - she has a discerning ear and good taste, too.
Ugh! I am trying to decide between the 5s and sevens. The fives are such a deal at $500… just don’t know if the 7s are worth more than double the price??!
Nice job, as always! I was actually a little surprised that Klipsch offered something as large as the 9s. They are really large speakers. However, great follow up regarding the need for a larger room for them. I also appreciate the 'cord' issue. I'm certain that it limits your ability to place them the way you'd like. Andrew: Great comment regarding being careful what surfaces you place the units on. The 5s and the 7s look like a fun option to a second room in the house. Thanks so much for the review on these!
Appreciate you watching till the end and weighing in. Your contributions are always appreciated!
@@andrewrobinsonreviews Andrew, I had my cup of coffee ready and primed for the review. 😁
@@KristiWright Good morning. Love hanging out with you two. I look forward to my Sunday mornings. 😉
Great review guys! I'm looking to change up my Sonos 5 based setup to Klipsch to better enjoy music & vinyls. Would you suggest the RP--600M IIs with an Audiolab 6000A Play or these Sevens considering the $800 premium for the amp setup?
Another amazing speaker for the money are the Airpulse A300 Pro, they rock. I don’t think you can build a better passive sistem even at double the price. I have even tested the small Airpulse A80 against Dynaudio Evoke 50 + Moon Ace at a friends house and we were shocked (except the spl headroom and bass extention obviousely), the Airpulse sound so good. A300 pro are in another league from top to bottom compaired to the small A80.
I agree and not surprised. I have the JBL 305P MkII's and as you know they also have the 306 and 308, but the 305s sound and measure the best. And now I paired them with the Monoprice Stage Right 10-Inch they really shine cut off at 60!
Very informative. I recently purchased the 5's with Black Label Sub-100 SW and the sound is awesome! Mind you this set up is in a 1 bedroom 600sq. apartment! I noticed the price gap between the 5's and 7's is quite a lot but only slightly more for the 9's and the 7's. Hmmm...
So...7 better than 9's. 9's short comings are apparent...although I'm not in this particular market- the review seems fair and honest, well done you two!
I ve been waiting for this so mucho
I had the same problem with the fives that you have with the nines. A sub really helped. The Sevens might be a great upgrade.
Hello! New to channel and absolutely love all yours reviews I've seen. I've watched both your reviews for the first gen RP8000F and The Sevens and am extremely split between the two for my next setup. I realize that there's a real convenience with powered speakers. However, it seems that the consensus is usually that passive speakers driven properly will most of the time outperform. I'm really tempted by The Sevens because of this glowing review, but would I be giving up a lot sonically compared to the RP8000Fs for some convenience?
Great job, thanks for sharing.
Great review. Hope one day you can do reviews on some single speaker solutions (next to bed). I was looking at the Klipsch the three, but there seems to be some issues with it.
I was ready to pull the trigger on the 7's or the 9's. I couldn't make up my mind between the two... then I listened to the JBL 4305P for my ears the JBL'S were awesome....using them with an RSL Speedwoofer in a 2 channel system....well worth the extra $$$
Hey guys. I have been watching you guys for a long time now. You guys are my first channel I've subscribed too. I really enjoy your no non sense approach. If you like it then enjoy it. I own a pair of klipsch rf7 ii. I was just wondering if you have ever reviewed these towers or not. Just curious on your take. I doubt I'll get a reply. I imagine you guys are insanely busy with everything you need to keep us entertained. Lol. Just know I appreciate you guys and what you are doing.
Thank you for the awesome and detailed review. I currently own the Fives and I connected them to a Jamo C 910 Sub due to my limited budget at that time. I was considering getting the Sixes at a later stage. You've now swayed me to the Sevens. Should I keep my 10 inch sub or upgrade to 12inch when I get the Sevens? I'm in South Africa by the way so prices are slightly higher this side.
I’ve always wanted a pair of The Sevens starting with the original Heritage version. Never pulled the trigger. Now I have a Cinema 600 system and I’m wondering if I can pair it up with The Sevens and utilize it as the center channel as well as that remarkable 10 inch subwoofer. Any input would be great! Thanks for the awesome review!
The pricing was interesting to me, will have to catch them on sale. Would have been interesting to hear a LSX II comp. Great review!
thx for the great work, love what you and christy do. I Have a question and if you could help it would be greatly appricated, I currently have a set of b&o formation duo in my living room and I'm considering changing them out for the klipsch nines, because controlling the volume on the formantion speakers is a hasle, would the klipsch nines disappoint or would they hold up to the formation duo?
I’d love to see you guys review some of the Swan Powered speakers, like the M300MK2, D300, or M5A to compare. I’ve heard amazing things about them for the $
thanks a lot for review. what do you think about ls50 wireless II vs klipsch?
I am so happy you made this as I’m getting ready to buy something for a medium sized room . Music is first, then TV just for intelligibility.
I had a feeling the sevens would be better, Klipsch can’t help themselves. With an 8” driver they had an opportunity to make something really special, but they just use the potential to make a frat party speaker. I was afraid Klipsch wouldn’t high pass the speaker with a sub but Klipsch finally sent me a response explaining they do. I don’t know why they would not advertise that as it’s a really big deal.
ANDREW!!!!!
Would you use a SVE sealed sub or the new Klipsch subs that are slot ported? As I said Klipsch can’t help themselves and I’m afraid the Klipsch would be boomy , more HT worthy instead of fast and musical.
I have The Fives with a Kanto sub 8 and it's an incredible sounding (but a bit of an overkill) for my work laptop setup. Now I'm wondering if I should get The Sevens for my home system to replace my B&O soundbar. Too much money involved at this point... lol. Thanks for the review!
I’m fresh here but instantly I love this channel.
Andrew very detailed and I feel like I can make easier decisions thanks to you.
Kristi always know what questions are ask - love your input 👸
I start with my home system and I want start with 2.0 maybe 2.1 and later built up.
I was thinking about Kanto YU6 (unfortunately sevens, or even fives are out for my budget).
But YU6 you can buy for stout 500 but this same speakers but passive you can get for around 200. Wasn’t be better take passive speakers and take some AVR. I just think YU6 are awesome but I think with AVR I can later use this speakers on back and buy some towers.
If AVR it’s good idea in this situations with was be best for start in 300-400 budget? Sony most time give more channels and power but I’m not sure this will be better options. Any recommendations 😁
very helpful review. thank you
Thanks for a great review. I'm so glad i saw this, as I'm going to audition the Nines next week, and hadn't even thought to compare them to the 7's as I really do belomng to the Big is Better old school of audio - however i will truly compare the 2 and hopefully update here with my opinions. I mostly listen to classical and jazz music so its mostly acoustic instruments that interest me. I've never heard a Klipsch speaker before, but what interests me to audition them is, as a front row audience concert attender from the reviews I've read it sounds like Klipsch might be able to reproduce that front row dynamic better, where you can almost feel the vibes of the music - so i'm hoping that the very dynamic transient response might recreate the feel of live music in a concert hall. Previously I had thought that Magnepan or an electrostatic speaker might be best for classical - but i just have a feeling if you want a concert hall feel in your listening room you need a dynamically exciting speaker rather than a refined one - im reall excited to find out!
How would you compare the Klipsch with the EdifierS3000 Pro?
The two speakers are connected wirelessly and i suspect the pair came with individual amplifier for each speaker.
I am looking for a set of powered speakers and i am down to the Sevens and the Edifier.
Andrew, I totally agreed with your wrap up., especially with your opinion on the RP series. Off subject, but have Kristi, or you reached out to Dave at Ascend Acoustics to demo some of his products, especially the Sierra stand mounts? Thanks for the videos.
I have the nines. They are absolutely amazing. Everyone who hears them is just floored by the sound. For music I suggest no extra sub. If you are using them for movies then yes add the sub.
Great review as always! I have been using Klipsch “The Fives” with a decent Klipsch Sub since the day after I saw your review. I use them with the ports plugged a always use the sub. I am not unhappy with their performance. By the time they finally got the app right I had mechanically made enough changes so that I really haven’t gotten settings that I like more than “Flat”. Do you think it would be worth it to me to upgrade to the Nines over the Fives. I would likely make some mods to The Sevens as well. If we assume that I am able to get them to perform similarly to my The Fives do you think that the Overall sound is likely to be worth the cost (money and time) of upgrading? Keep up the good work!
I bought the prior gen “the Sixes” on close out when they released the fives. I got them for 400 or 500 which seemed like a streak at the time. The power the bass response it was quite a fun speaker. Not a refined sound but for the $ quite a fun sound. I ended up getting rid of them but I’m sure the new series from Klipsch are enjoyable
I would like to know what subwoofer would you recommend for people getting the Klipsch Five Series speakers? These are for a desktop computer playing mostly music with some movies.
These would make for a great simple system for many.
An HDMI cable from you TV, and the use of the built in music apps that come with tge TV and there you go. A nice simple 2.1 ch movie system, and a fun 2.0 stereo system.
Interesting.
I agree 100%.
Question....what' are your thoughts on the rarely covered 'the Sixes" ? ?
I have these, and love them. but will be looking for 7s soon.
Damn it! Great review! I may have to get the Sevens. I’ve had the fives pretty much since they were released and I love them. I’ve got them in a really weird location, on top of a recessed bar in my dining room, under a Samsung Frame TV. They were way to bass heavy in their location until they came out with the bass control in the app. Now I have the ports plugged and the bass trimmed down in the app and the sound is great for the setup constraints that I have. I didn’t want a soundbar look in my dining room, and the fives and the Frame TV, with a DecoTV frame around it, look great. I’ve got the fives connected to my Sonos system too, through the Sonos port. I’ve got the RP500’s in the garage and I love those too. The Sevens won’t fit in the location I have the Fives, so I’ll have to figure out where I would use them.
Any issues with the fives shutting off on their own? Or issue with them connecting to tv? I’ve been hesitating buying them as I’ve seen a lot of complaints. Wondering if the issue has been fixed with the sevens.
I’m currently using a Sonos Arc surround setup w/ Gen3 sub and ERA 300 rears that I absolutely love , though I’m thinking about getting a separate 2 channel system for certain genres (classic rock/metal) - and to have more control over EQ on older albums that weren’t ideally mixed.
I’ve narrowed it down to 3 choices: Klipsch Sevens, Dali Oberon 5 or Magnepan LRS (+ a Cambridge amp w/ the latter two) and eventually a KEF Sub to go with any stereo pair I pick. … The Sevens would definitely be the most cost effective option - though I’m not sure how well it’d stack up to the Dali with a good amp.. I live too far away from civilization to demo any before I order, so I’m having to rely on the good judgement of others ;).
I’m not sure if my smallish 13x13 room is big enough to make the Magnepan’s an ideal choice - plus they seem quite a pain to get ahold of, so I’m leaning more heavily toward Dali or Klipsch..
Hey there Andrew and Kristi nice review. I noticed you had some small problems with the Nines base. I was looking at the back of the Nines and was wondering if it was possible would the Nines be better off with subbase radiators instead of the horn base tubes. I have a pr of RPM 600 and use them with a old SW12 subwoofer it has a 12 sub base radiator. Just wondering.
Hey Andrew. I love your reviews. I have the fives and want to get another set of speakers for another room. I'm torn between getting the sevens or a set of Heresy IV. I'm looking for something that sounds great at lowish volume but sound airy and fill the room without effort. My room is medium sized.
notification auto switch. sorry other video. also perfect timing I was researching these. You guys rock
I'm a proud owner of The Sevens and they are brilliant!
Thank you foe this amazing review Andrew. What would you choose between these 2 options: Klipsch the Sevens >*OR*< Klipsch RP600Mii + Rotel A12mkii ??
Comparable features, including bluetooth and built in DAC and phono input.
BUT -- Which in your opinion will be a better sounding combo?
Will appreciate your thoughts. Thank you 🙂
I have been subscribed to your channel for a long time, thank you.
I have the Fives, I got them b/c my wife hates the clutter of equipment under my main TV. I am not an audio connoisseur but I do like good sound, prefer warm performance with bass punch and clear voice the fives sound pretty good, but not great at lower volume levels. My question is are the sevens very noticeably better than the fives, enough to be worth the 1.2K price. Thanks, Jim Garner
The review I have been waiting for 😊👍 with the new klipsch subs the 9 would be great! Thanks
You won't need any subs with the nines, unless for movies maybe, but I didn't, depends on the room, the low end is on another level for their size.
The speakers look really good, hope the sound is awesome
I'm consuming content about speakers and a little stuck. Looking at the Sevens, but also definitely not opposed to seperate amplifier and speakers. What would you guys or people in the comments recommend- the sevens or a pair of RP600m/iis, RP6000f or Polk audio R200s paired with the Emotiva BasX A2 amp and Blue sound node N130. I know the price difference is a lot but I dont want to get the sevens and feel like im miwsing out. I should note that Ive bought an RSL speedwoofer 12s sub to pair with whatever I get.
Hi Andrew, as a big fan of speakers that boom boom and currently dropping a boom-boom while I watch this review, do you know if the 5/7/9's support a 2.2 subwoofer arrangement? I'm not looking to crack my foundation, but I am curious what the limits of bass configuration are.
Thank you for helping me decide between the Sevens or the Nines. I'm new to the Hi-Fi stuff. Just ordered the Sevens! Cheers.
THANKS GREAT REVIEW
Connecting a WiFi streamer on one of the digital input it would be interesting to know if the speakers wake up and auto-sense the signal and switches the input automatically. Doing so it would make them an airplay 2 enabled solution without having to switch on and select the source. With vinyl it’s less an issue as you have to come around and manually place the disc. Switching input can be part of the ritual and even make the knobs somewhat useful. For streaming that would be essential as far as I’m concerned.
Its very interesting to see new options on the market. I always get excited slightly but then I sit down play my kef r300( not the best thing but good for me) and realize that to get any reaaonble update to that sound (mm usic, movies gaming) i have to pay at least two times if not more to achive audioble difrence that ia worth the effort. I dont know if this is good or bad...
I’ve heard the fives and I can’t see any sound bar keeping up with even those . Can’t wait to hear the bigger powered speakers 😊
Nice review Andrew and Kristy, ty both. I had the Sixes, but never could connect with them, for some reason did not make the music move me, so I sold them. I hope the Sevens would sound better to me. I am spoiled, as I own all of Klipsch heritage line, HS-4 up the KH 70th edition, and was wondering if the Sevens has a similar sound signature, as Klipsch states they are heritage inspired? Thoughts? ty
"There's more to a speaker than going boom boom."😊😊 Possible quote of the year? Thank you Kristi for all that you do.
Forgot to ask. how did you connect the Cambridge Audio AXN10 to the speakers since you said you connected the spaekers to the TV via HDMI? thanks
Thanks for the comparison, Andrew! You helped me last year to pull the trigger on the Sony HT-A9 which I really enjoy and this might help me as well. Best hifi channel on YT
Andrew, I have the Fives and I’m thinking about retiring them to the bedroom. I have an open floor plan of living room, kitchen and dining room (500 square feet). The Fives are plenty loud but need a sub to be pushed. Even with a sub there is a gap where I don’t hear the clean punch of kick drums and bass guitar of Rush (my reason for listening to music 😂). Would you recommend the 7s over the 9s to get that taught sound?
Andrew, have you ever heard of the German brand Nubert? I would be so curious how you evaluate their active speakers against the Klipsch. Thanks so much for your amazing reviews! 🙏🏼😱
Hi, I have the Fives, primarily used in an apartment for playing records and streaming music. You didn't cover the phono amp in the Sevens. Do you see an upgrade in it over the Fives? Thanks again for your reviews! Cheers!
Quick question on the app mainly. Can you have seperate EQ settings for each input?
Great video! Any thoughts regarding the Nines or the KEF LS50 Wireless II?
Here I've been, enjoying my Sevens for the past month or so, and now you and Kristi have me thinking I need to get the Samsung soundbar, because I'm also a movie guy all the time. Since you're one of the few sites who disliked the Sony A7000 as much as I did, I'm thinking I may have to take your advice. Thanks.
Wow. As a Fives owner, I'm thirsting for those Sevens!

Good, clear review stating pros and possible cons. Especially like the clarification that not everyone will have the same room dimensions. Comparing open floor plans, apartments, houses or even basement areas all will be totally different. And the point about the importance of what you put the speakers on mattering alot, something that doesn't get touched on that much, very important point you all brought out. Thanks. Me and the wife were planning on the Fives, but now that we are moving from our apartment to a much larger Condo we plan to go with the Seven's. Sweet Spot all the way.
I guess i should have watch the complete video here before asking my question. So i take it you have to set the TV to stereo and not DD for movies. I do 50/50 so it's a hard decision on what to do. I have one more soundbar to test which is the NEW Polk Magnifi Max AX SR sound bar set up. Just got down with the new JBL bar 1000 with terrible results.
Hi Andrew ,I didn’t know where to exactly contact you for this but someone is posing as you and is trying to scam people using telegram and your channel..
@Ryzen 0818 Thank you for the heads up. Please report those accounts whenever you see them and know that we are NOT on telegram.
