It's nice to see this tradition is still going. Unfortunately, most church bells around here are either rung electronically, or the sound itself is digital.
whenever the tenor -1 place is leading in devon call changes, i always have to think about if the tenor has been called under the tenor -1 bell, or if it leading. great ringing tho. (tenor -1 in this instance would be the 9th)
Is there any differentiation within the church year, e.g. between ordinary Sundays and Solemnities because in continental bell ringing some vary with the number of bells? Is there an intention to let the listener know if it is Pentecost or a Sunday within Advent tide?
Hi! That’s the start of the rise - you swing the bell twice to get some momentum, then on the third swing you check the rope to make the clapper make contact with the bell.
Stuart Bennie I’ve rung in York Minster and Westminster abbey even though theirs a lot of methods can not ring when you went to sf Peter mancroft did you see Norwich cathedral
It's not easy, you have to learn the very precise method to ring them, and it's difficult to know when and how fast to ring your bell. The whole thing has to be very precise and coordinated or it sounds terrible.
I always feel so emotional listening to the bells. I used to ring the Tenor.
Congratulations to the team! I love waking up in the morning hearing bells.
well...I am crying!...sorry, it is a very great emotion to hear this and see those people ringing the bells!!!!!!
Absolutely talented and beautiful a wonder to hear through my ears
I am a bell ringer in practice and being in the bell tower of a cathedral is they most beautiful experience
I miss the bells and long for the opportunity to hear them again live!
Really really beautiful ringing!

Yes but most people take it for granted in modern days
@Ringerjay2 Sad, but true.
Bells are tradition which mankind wold have never stop to play and cast and teach the technology how to produce that kind of tuned bells.
Wow!!
Starting the new year like that would be amazing!!
IMPRESSIVE ... That is the Mount Everest of sports, teamwork and arts ... I SALUTE YOU !!!
Beautiful ringing as always. I would, however, liked to have some longer periods of uninterrupted ringing.
Quite agreed! Are there any unedited videos anywhere that we know about?
I agree I want more footage of them ringing up.
This is how does Heaven sounds. I'm crying because of its wonderful synchronicity
Great!! Miss hearing more bells these days.
My wish is to ring the bell at Westminster Abbey one-day... It's been on my bucket list..

The ringing director at the back of the room between the tenor and the treble at the beginning of the video was on itv!

Fantastic ringing as always. Northumberland is a great spot for a holiday ;-). Although, I think you got as far as Newcastle last year?
Stunning

This video was posted on my birthday...
I’m so late to this video but my goal in life is to visit Westminster abbey and hear the bells ❤
wow i never seen like this before
1:28 why do the devon call change ringer do this like they pull the rope twice then ROUGHLY pulls the rope of the bell (just asking btw)

I'm french.
Just terrific !

The music (Zadok the Priest) drowns out the bells - at the beginning
Enfin le Plénum de l'abbaye de Westminster 14:48
These Devon call changes
Are the Abbey bells always kept down?
Maybe you should ring in Beverley Minster and Selby abbey and Lincoln Cathedral
We did them all in 2012 on a tour. Think the only footage of that tour was York Minster
Stuart Bennie I’ve rung in York Minster and Westminster abbey even though theirs a lot of methods can not ring when you went to sf Peter mancroft did you see Norwich cathedral
😍😍❤
Nice
What's the song in the beginning of this video?
Zadok the Priest if I'm not mistaken, it is our coronation anthem and a truely remarkable piece of music when sung well
Stephen Frank Yes, it is Zadok the Priest.
Whats the name of the song they are ringing
Lance Gabriel Aizon we dont ring songs we ring methods like Plain hunt ,Grandsire and other methods some are more complicated than others
the change ringing bells it's hard or easy?
It's not easy, you have to learn the very precise method to ring them, and it's difficult to know when and how fast to ring your bell. The whole thing has to be very precise and coordinated or it sounds terrible.
I suppose in a way it is easy and hard at the same time
very easy

Champions League music?
Häftigt
nice video but wish it wouldnt keep skipping all the time and show it in full that ruins it
I LIKE HOW YOU HAVE THE CHAMPIONS LEAUGE SONG
hahahaha
LONG LIVE CHAMPS LEAGUE
It's the British Coronation Anthem - Zadok the Priest
That's what they play at coronations, it's been appropriated by the champions league.
The Champions League theme isn’t Zadok the Priest. It sounds like it, but it isn’t.
i hear big ben
Wish i could be a part of the royal family or be the queens personal servant and get married at Westminster

Ringer Jake Didn’t realize you were my mother.
point still stands, if you don't like the video, why comment? Why waste your own time when you could be using it productively?
Yandere sister you watched a chocolate cake recipe being made while reciting crocheting patterns. Now run along.
