That 15 Autumn Bone is JUUUUUUSSSST RIGHT! Patina and all....Good Lortttt. This is my favorite format of video....Traditional collection mini review style like some old school Randy Johnson vibes going on here. I remember a bunch of these videos from an earlier collection video of yours that Ive watched maybe 10 times lol.

    Hey Bob,
I've been tuning in to TKJ channel for a few months now. It is a pleasure to see folks interacting together and having fun over their shared interests and passions. The positivity on display is acutely infectious, but beyond that, there is often an exchange of concepts that others can metaphorically "flick open" to test what they feel like in their own hands, and that can only be a good thing.
    Funny story:
Being as I haven't been in this knife life very long, the topic of slipjoints and the appeal they hold was not one of my starting points. They were kind of a joke to me given the advances in modern knife making. The idea that they would hold my interest just wasn't on my radar. However, it is now an idea that apparently I've been absorbing lately from the unabashed zeal over them contained in your content. This is no doubt a manifestation of the aforementioned exchange dynamic.
    The punchline?
I have exactly one slipjoint in my possession that I pretty much ordered by accident a while back. Yet, I find it in my hand as I watch this vid...the whole time opening and closing it, looking and listening for the "walk and talk!" A phrase I wasn't even aware of six months ago. All of a sudden, it seems a new route has been opened for me on my trip across this bladed universe. IMO, this is the exact kind of thing that represents the best of what social media can be.
Except, of course, for the part where I'll probably buy 200 more knives in the coming year...all slipjoints!
Cheers, you master junkie....you fun peddler...you prince of sharp! 😊

Bob this was excellent! Your GEC collection is awesome, it’s so personal and I love how the majority of them have wear on the bolsters, beautiful aging on the handles, patina on the blade or the markings gone from being refinished. They certainly do not look like they’ve been sitting in the tube unused. I know the perfectly machined modern slip joint with modern materials is getting popular now but there is really something to be said about how unique traditional slip joints are. Between the carbon steel blades and the traditional materials it really makes every knife is different, whereas these new flawless modern slip joints all feel the same to me within each pattern and to me they just don’t have the soul that something like a GEC has. Once again, awesome video!
