Robert had a hard time accepting every aspect of his sexuality. He had to learn to accept each little step from it being ok to kiss aaron. To sleep with him, to have a relationship, to admit even to himself that he had a relationship, to claiming he was bi. I think given enough time he would have accepted himself as gay and not bi. Hopefully Ryan hawley comes back
