Yeah, Blackbird should get about a gazillion thousand video essays made about it per day. Such an amazing classic deserves this absurd amount of coverage other far better known pieces of media get. 😈
I was a big fan back when they first came out. I kept Blackbird sings in my cassette player pretty much all the time in 1991 and years after. I waited for a 3rd album and it never happened. Polygram dropped them because of lack of album sales. They were on same label as Def Leppard. I always wondered if Polygram didn’t promote them enough. They should have been huge. I heard an interview that Sandi became very disheartened with the record business and wanted nothing to do with it after Polygram. She had 5 kids I think? and is happily married to same guy for many years. She did what made her happy. But man, some of those songs from those 2 albums hold up great even over 30 years later. She had some of the best vocal chops since Pat Benatar. I love the tone of her voice. It’s angelic.

@@hek8ay TBF she is not 100% innocent. Unfortunately, this happened around the time she married Brian Wheat, so she didn't listen and they joined QPrime's management staple just because Sandi was that stubborn about it. That ultimately stopped their chances of becoming huge dead in their tracks and the band ended shortly after. Gregg leaving around the same time also did its fair share of damage. Little did I know that a tear later, that same time on the same day I would get a phone call that my MOm, my best friend forever was in the hospital dying. These are NOT just sons to me..this band and their music is part of the soundtrack to my life. They mean so much to me. I never got to see them live, breaks my heart. I would have LOVED to see Sandi record a song with my female hero ,inspiration Lita Ford.
I have always loved this band, Sandi’s vocals and stage presence have always made me weak in the knees. After When The Blackbird Sings, I was dying for more music, but there was nothing. Thanks for sharing this concert.
This is one of the best live performances I've heard. It's such a pity that the real musicians/artists usually arrive at showbiz when the music direction is well established and it's very difficult to find a place under the sun. And what a vocal in the age of no f...g Autotune!
WOW !!! She is somewhere in-between Cher, for her looks, Joan Jett for her stage presence, and her own vixen style of singing. It sounds like Grunge with a twist, and I like both. Thank you for the chance to such an angel on stage.
Amazing band, great songs, still have a crush on Sandi to this day sometimes play a song of hers in Nashville from time to time 😅.
