Outstanding video! You (and your partner!) are such patient teachers! This video is a great resource for new goat families like ours, who want to better understand what goes into a quality dairy goat. Thank you!
Awesome video!! Definitely one of your best and most informative. I can wait until you start showing again and we get to see some newer videos about that!
Yay! I’ve been waiting for a new video!!! Wow this is a great one too. So much education. A live hands on demo helps so much compared to just reading and looking at pictures. So wish you were closer than 990 miles from me!!!
I’m using this vlog to let you know, Crystal, that I finally did get a soap from you ordered and it was the aloe bar. Thank you so much for your help🥰 you are a jewel and I e been wanting your soap for well over a month but have been getting others in my error, I’m sure, thinking I was still on your link. I’m not the best at this computer stuff but I do try. Than you and I’m looking forward to trying your soap🥰❤️
Thank you so much for posting this! I want to apologize, and tell you to ignore my message/email to you LOL. I was asking for this very video, from you. I didn't realize you had one already :P Greatly appreciated, very thorough, and well done!
Lovely goat, great information, you have just shown us so much information that we can use. Thank you Criystal. I love your video I have enjoyed every one. sue xx UK ps sorry I have spelt your name wrong.
Another great and informative video. You said you have transported to Washington, do you know the cost? I'm hoping to start my hard, I'd be interested in 3 doelings.
If you use air transportation it will be about $350-$400 for 2 goats after crates and health certificates. 2 kids can go in one crate. The goat I sent to Washington was ground transportation and she was amazing! The buyer paid the cost but it was traveling in style! I am not exactly sure of cost but probably a little cheaper. This is the link to the video with the transporter so you can see. I highly recommend her. Her fb page is linked in the description of the video if you want to reach out to her :) ua-cam.com/video/6VqvsDeGt-M/v-deo.html
I just found some videos I had never seen, so I am trying to catch up. Wow Crystal ( sorry if I am mispelling your name) you are SO knowledgeable about you goats. I don't even have a goat but have learned a plathora of facts from you. Are you ever going to sell your soap?
Is there a video you know about that shows the types of errors in their structure? Sometimes it’s easier understanding what we are shooting for by seeing things we don’t want in our goats.
I have been showing about 6 years. We had goats before we decided to dive into showing. I have seen videos of people training goats like a dog can be trained. I suppose if you have the time and patients lol.
Does loose weight when they are in milk. So keep that in mind. Completely normal. Up the alfalfa and alfalfa pellets. That's what I do if I have a doe that is too skinny because she is in milk. Producing milk takes a lot out of them. Also, a worm over load will cause weight loss too. So make sure that isn't going on.
I am here in Texas I am looking for someone who sells dewarf Nubian goats so I can have milk cheese butter. Most are only selling show goats 🤷♀️ do you know anyone I can get in touch with ?
Hi Criystal. I was wondering if you hade a page or email I could send you photo's of some of my goat's, there aren't a lot of show out where I am and a lot of people who know about dairy goats. I am having a really hard time on telling if my main breeding doe's and buck's are good for what I am wanting to go for. I am raising foundation pygmy's so they don't look any were close to your new standard pygmy goats on what they are breeding for, I am trying to breed for dairy and meat line's but when ever I show in 4-H I keep running across no one knows what they are doing or looking for and I really get discouraged on what I am trying to go for. If you would be able to help or know of some one I would really appreciate.
I tried sending it on one of my of my emails but it did not work so I tried it on my second one. I will let you know if it said failed to send again. It's saying it can't fined the address or it's not open for taking mail.
Wanted to see if that first email I sent went through and sorry I have not been able to send the rest. The weather has been bad and have not been able to get better photo's of every one ells. I will try and get some tomorrow when it's suppose to be nice.
So, after looking at the close ups of the well attached udders it struck me how much they look very much like, say, a cooked full bird breast. Kinda. If you tucked in the wings, and added treats that is. Well, from ta rear anyhow. Also, I have good news. My troubled doe is getting MUCH better. Teasing her with a pan of scratch made catching her a breeze yesterday morning. And she's now jumping on the stancion like an old pro. She's only trembling a tiny bit now if i make her wait any amount of time after milking though. Like say i am checking for babies. Or in general a daily health check while I have her on the stand. But she and I are getting better together everyday. Now, hope has me spoiled rotten. I showed her ONCE where the stancion was and that was it! I even have a hard time getting her off the thing. Lol. Willow has yet to be worked by me. And, I was thinking the other day that I should add her to my 'milk line' even if she's dry just to get her in the routine of it and get her used to being touched and worked by me. Oh yeah, and Gwen, my trouble goat does SO much better with a halter otherwise she tries to drag me everywhere. Which with the snow and the ice she darn near can! Don't worry, I only use the halter during milking time. And I'll be darned I needed a small halter on her. She's lamancha/ alpine I would have thought I needed a large but there we are. Sorry, so long winded. I don't really have anybody to talk to about these things. Thank you for listening. Have a blessed day. Rocks Corner on yt
That is great news!! So glad to hear she is getting accustomed to getting milked on the stand. She will get better and better with time. I clip all of mine to the fence to wait their turn. When I'm done with one I clip hert to her spot of the fence and unclip the next doe. They just run to the stand for me.
Excellent job. This series should set the standard for all others. Thanks also for commenting on other dairy breeds like Nubians.
Beautiful Doe. She appears to have all the good qualities in the Standard!
Your a great teacher. I am surprised that you are not a ADG Judge.
Awww. Well that is very nice of you! One day when life calms down I would love it!
Very interesting learning about the different areas of a goat. Your model was patient and well behaved. Thank you for sharing! 👍

Omg that a beautiful goat
Informative , how many years you been showing goats.
How far or much can you train a goat ?
I have been showing about 6 years. We had goats before we decided to dive into showing. I have seen videos of people training goats like a dog can be trained. I suppose if you have the time and patients lol.
A neighbor of mine was able to train one of her more clever does with a clicker! She could do all sorts of tricks.
She’s ticklish, huh? 🤣😂 Such a pretty goat❤️
Hi Crystal! Thank you so much for your informative videos. How does a goat achieve a permanent championship?
Hello! She has to win champion in three rings.
I don't know if I should get a few Nubians or some drawfs help!
Question: compared to your does my does look quite thin since they kidded.... How would you fatten up low weight does?

very good madam

You can email me :) I have to say, pygmys are a bit different than dairy goats but I can offer my thoughts as best I can. bcdairygoats@hotmail.com

How much chain per goat do you use? And just a double clip on both ends?
Show collars are just choker collars. Inch in chains would be defendant on the size of the goats head. You want it to just fit over their head.
What does that mean
Well, there was a lot of info there. So not sure what you are asking. Is there a more specific question you have?
❤️❤️❤️
