I watched the show as it aired and I think I’ve rewatched it legitimately about 20 times since it ended lol. Just started rewatching again yesterday. Greatest show ever.
The way he looked at her lips and how she just sort of fell into him before immediately “Shawn what are *you* doing?” Defending herself but strangely not backing away... The sexual tension is so thick it’s ironically the only thing keeping them from kissing.
I liked that her first instinct after that was to go to her stress relieving exercise with the gun. It showed that shawn was very much someone who was in her head at that point.

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I favor Abigail over Jules for Shawn. She was awesome and quirky. I think Jules is slightly manipulative. Please don’t attack me! Lol!
Abigail was clearly set up to just be temporary not a permanent girlfriend. The writers and everyone clearly set it up for them to end up together. Just pay attention to the clues and you’ll know that Shawn is much better off with Juliet.
During my original watch back in the day, I agreed. I couldn't warm up to Jules at first, for some reason and really thought Abigail was a much better fit. She seemed to match his humor better and openly like more of the things he liked. But now after rewatching the full storyline as an adult a few times, I realized that Abigail was quite controlling. Not in a narcissistic type of way, but in a way that Shawn just couldn't be fully himself comfortably. The episode after she leaves on her trip, Shawn wastes no time to do all the things he normally would do that he couldn't do while dating her. Which, does say a lot. Granted, it's healthy to change some things and compromise to make a relationship work, but she was much too focused on her own dreams and passions to support Shawn and his. She wasn't a bad character and was a positive for Shawn in many ways, but she just wasn't ready to settle down with him and compromise her own dreams. There was no way for her to chase her own dreams while supporting his in a relationship, and vice versa. I'm not sure how Juliet might be manipulative, but I can say that she at least lets Shawn be fully himself and loves him for it.
