I am so so so happy you watched these! Thank you! It made me so happy to see how effected you were by Good Enough, because it gets me right in the feels too! The drummer Gunil wrote the song in music school in America about a girl he liked but couldn’t confess his feelings to. It’s why the song ends with “you’ll never find this story of mine” because he wrote the song and knew the girl would never know he wrote it about her or that it existed. I enjoy Freakin Bad, but it isn’t one of my favorites from XH. I think my favorite harder song of theirs is their debut track Happy Death Day. I remember when it dropped I was like WOAH THAT is DIFFERENT. I hadn’t seen anything like it. Still haven’t. XH have a way of making unique tracks, but their vocals are amazing and top-tier. I also really love their covers, like Impossible by Nothing But Thieves and Hellevator by StrayKids. The key changes in the middle of Dear H.’s choruses always hit me in the face. The lyrics are about struggling through darkness and trying to find a way out of being lost, not being able to get to the light even if you are near it. All the members help when it comes to writing lyrics and the composition on the songs on all the albums. Not every member does every song, but it’s usually two or three members on a song with someone else.

Ok, I think this might be one of my fav reactions to Good Enough. We were feeling all the same feels, trust me. That song absolutely floored me when it came out and I'm absolutely not a ballad girly. And I love that you went w/ the Hello82 live version instead of the music video. The stripped back setting and getting to see them actually play their instruments always makes me feel more immersed in the song. Tho if you have the time I would still recommend watching the mv, it's quite simple but really beautifully shot. Their main guitarist Junhan (he did the guitar solo in Freakin Bad, only one in the group that doesn't really sing except for some harmonies and whispers and such) isn't in that one, if you wonder why there's only 5 members in the scenes, bc he got a bad stomach bug at the start of this last comeback and had to take the first 2 weeks off. There's a mv for Dear H as well that's pairs w/ the Good Enough one, and they managed to get some shots w/ Junhan in at the end. A little background on Good Enough: The drummer Gunil, who's also the oldest and leader of the group, wrote it based on a poem he wrote in college while nursing a broken heart. YoungK of JYP's first kband Day6 (basically XH's senior brothers, they're all doing solo stuff or military services atm so they're on indefinite hiatus or unofficially disbanded depending on who you ask, their music is more of a soft rock vibe and definitely worth checking out) helped him turn it into a song. He actually moved to the US in middle school and went to Berklee College of Music with a scholarship for drumming, which is why this one's in English. Some background on Dear H: Junhan wrote this one, and I believe did some of the composing. Actually all the members contribute to either the lyrics, composition, or arrangement of all their songs, along with professional writers and producers of course. The H is meant to be be open to interpretation, but Junhan said when he was writing it it meant hope to him. The blond singer you first pointed out in Freakin Bad and then melted under the spell of his vibrato is Jooyeon, bassist and maknae. He just turned 21 yesterday, which is so wild given his level of talent. The power and control and diversity of sounds he can make is nuts. Those screams and growls in Freakin Bad are him too. As a longtime metalhead, I instantly fell in love w/ his voice bc it's like perfectly made for rock and metal. He's actually said he wants to learn how to do proper metal growls and I am patiently waiting for them to do a death metal style cover of the most bubblegummy kpop song lol. The other powerhouse voice is Jungsu, keyboardist and 2nd oldest. I think it took me a while to get used to his voice, bc while it's undeniably powerful he also rarely uses vibrato and it's got a much more piercing, almost bell-like quality to it. It's always great how he and Jooyeon often mirror each others parts, giving the same lines their own flare. If you wanna hear Gunil's lovely voice (he doesn't sing much bc it's a bit awkward to do while drumming) as well as the insane rapping skills of the other 2 vocalists Gaon (acoustic guitar in Good Enough) and O.de (other keyboard/synth player) go check out their covers of Hellevator by Stray Kids and Tomboy by Gidle.
If you liked good enough, i HIGHLY recommend “pluto” and “paranoid” their songs from their most recent comeback to me pluto is like dear H of livelock (their album name) and paranoid is like good enough, as in they radiate the same vibes

Dear H. is so freaking powerful. The lyrics of the outro get me every time: "All the wounds I kept within my arms Would it feel better if I spoke about it? I go deeper and deeper down" Like, I've had depression. And this just speaks to me. Ugh! And the fact the song was partly written by my baby Junhan?? 🥺🥺😭😭😭 He's the guitarist who got the solos in Freakin Bad and Dear H. He's actually the cutest man alive. I cannot WAIT for more XH reactions. They became my ult group in about....an hour? When I first discovered them. There is something truly special about them.
