Angels and Great Tenma War were actually supposed to be explained when we first met Ramiris in S1. It's not that plot relevant atm. But I can briefly explain.
Every 500 years the angels descend from the heavens and attack humanity and civilizations. They seem to take the most developed areas, hence Luminous' concern about Tempest. During this war, there's opportunities for new Demon Lords to be born/rise, territorial disputes, power struggles, etc. So it's not just about fighting off millions of angels or flying bugs. There's other situational opportunities for all factions. Although humans usually get screwed since they are the weakest.
P. S. This was supposed to be brought up back Ramiris was explaining that her reincarnation cycle is every 500 years. She becomes an adult then reincarnates into a child form in cycles over and over. So she's super nerfed and small because she "recently incarnated" (its been nearly 500 years, so she's actually gaslighting but it's funny). This also means the Great Tenma War is in the near future.

But in the later part, I read somewhere that she can actually "fasten" her cycle, like she can immediately go back to her Prime IF necessary. Cause when Rimuru was cast out to the end of time and space by Yuki during their fight, they have to face Yuki and fight him all on. She goes back to her prime but they still lost to Yuki. Rimuru then made it in time to go back and continue his fight with Yuki.

For those that don't get the context of the other nation supporting Rimuru aside from King Gazel's, The Crimson Arc movie takes place in between Episode 1 and 2 of Season 3. So technically Rimuru and the gang just came back after that event.

I just thought I would help by providing ya'll with some extra info that is NOT spoilers:
1st, Luminus is the demon lord Luminus, and when she was talking about the "flying bugs," it was in reference to the Tenma War. It was hinted at before in the anime if I'm not mistaken, but the war is something which happens every 500 years. In the war, angels descend to Earth and begin attacking developed nations/cities indiscriminately. Basically, the angels are preventing the people of the world from technologically advancing too far.
2nd, You were right about the news coming from walpurgis, but I figured I'd explain in further detail. The major events we see in the show are unknown to the whole world pretty much. If you remember in S2 when Rimuru defeated the Falmuth army and awakened, the other demon lords didn't know about this. We are shown a scene of Leon and Guy talking in which they mention the army and the false information that Rimuru disseminated which was that the battle caused the resurrection of Veldora and the destruction of the Falmuth army. The only people who we know of so far in the anime who know this is false information are: anyone in Tempest, King Gazel, Erald Grimwald (The elf dude from Thalion who showed up when they had that 3 episode conversation in the Gazebo), Fuze (The Free Guild leader from Blumund), the demon lords, and Hinata.
Following Walpurgis, the demon lords put together a letter to the Free Guild on the information they wanted the public to know, aka the letters those two envoys read to the Falmuth nobles at the end of the episode. Stuff like this does get confusing since the anime would take 5ever if they regurgitated every piece of information from the novels. However, as a general rule of thumb: Expect people to not know things. Most of the time when something happens in the show, the only people who know are the ones there, unless we are shown a third party observer. An example of this which is stated in the novels is that even though Rimuru owns the Forest of Jura and has awakened as a demon lord, there are still many monster residents of the forest who do not know one or both of these pieces of information. In the novel, while the plan with Diablo is happening, Rimuru tells the kobold merchants (The dog merchant shown in S2), to spread word around the forest about his new leadership.
They don't always fully cut these details from the show because they are important to the story, but a lot of the time they will not spend much screentime or dialogue discussing it, which means it takes a lot more attention and cross examination to pick up on than in the novels. Sadly the comments don't seem to be a reliable source of information due to people not being able to stop spoiling, but I think the show does a good job of cutting information and a lot of what is missing or abstract won't cause much confusion in the grand scheme of things. Ofc I will be watching your reactions when they come out so I am happy to keep explaining things while keeping it spoiler free. Edit: Quick addition btw, idk if ya'll know but there is a difference between a demon lord and a TRUE demon lord. Someone can hold the title of demon lord but not have awakened yet. Before Rimuru clapped Clayman, there were three non True demon lords: Clayman himself, Carillon, and Daggruel (The giant dude). Also, if you guys ever have the free time, although you prob don't since ya'll work mad hard lmao, it would help in the future if you watch the extra content for the series. It isn't as important right at this moment but it is very beneficial to have seen. The important things to see are: OVAs 3-5, Episode 0 of each season, Veldora's Journals, the Movie, and Visions of Coleus. The OVAs and the extra episodes aren't as important, however the Movie and Legends of Coleus are helpful information wise and actually pretty enjoyable. Thought I would just let ya'll know about that, see ya.

Jist a little point to know. They are setting up future characters and big bads in this episode. The angels are end game big bads and kind of get hinted about here and there like the dragons in game of thrones. The flying bugs are a slur for the angles.
Now masayuki is a new character, not Yuki the dude with the clowns. He is supposedly a "hero" and we will see him sooner than the angles.

The third was mentally parsing through the reactions and realizing that they hadn't watched the OVA's but they have seen her before as she was in the second season.
It's not that deep. It's not an accusatory charge as if they should have. It was a sanity check question as I wasn't sure if I missed anything or I made it up in my mind that they reacted to it.

Laplace is given too much credit when he killed Roy Valentine. I know Roy underestimated Laplace but their final confrontation happened during a full moon when all vampires are at their weakest. A win is a win especially in a death match but it should be noted that Roy was at his weakest level so Laplace is not someone who could truly defeat an unawakened demon lord like Karrion or Frey or even Louis Roy’s twin brother.

These subtitles are weird it said “flying bugs” it was supposed to say “angels”
The timeline in the anime is a little confusing that's why it seems the news got in falmuth late, but while diablo was doing that ressurecting thing and explaining the condition at the throne room, at the time rimuru was still in walpurgis and as far as i can remember he was still fighting with clayman so the throne room scene ended way before walpurgis so when the walpurgis ended falmuth already had the time to gather their nobles and was having the meeting. Also, you can like do some time assumption on the death of that fake demonlord vampire guy, you would think that luminous would follow right after she sent that guy home, but no in the first scene we could assume that she was atleast hours behind that dude that's the main reason he died cause if luminous was present at the time she could've revived him. So basically the news came to falmuth just right in time if we consider everything.
Hinata still interesting character to me, and all this plot really made me want to see more of the power scale.
All this people don't know shit for Rimuru is not just Rimuru.. It's Rimuru, Veldora and Diablo. No threat can deal with that trio. The world still don't know who they dealing with, even the clowns

@@communitygamer117 I use to feel the same as you for the Luminas name, but with time and from thinking more about it I came to like the Luminous name.
I feel that it fits thematically, while also being ironic in that one of the most ancient vampires has a name with light connotations. Like how it shows her perspective as well as planting the notion that she doesn't have the normal vampire weaknesses.
And then there's also the phonetic explanation. English words put in Japanese in katakana are often not phonetically one to one.
The "nas" part, or more specifically the elongated "a" sound added to the "na" combined with the "s"(or rather "su") is a combination in katakana to do the "-ous" sound.

Very slow episode
I know I am in the minority here. I remember liking this anime, but season 3 has been a pain so far for me. Totally unnecessary and boring talks about politics all the time. Why do some authors create so much politics talks in Isekai anime. There should be more fighting less talking imho. Most of the politics talk is a far strech as if the author is mocking our intelligence "If we do this, they will certainly do that, which in return will force the other faction to do that, while we will be plotting in the shadows this and that."
