I ordered my body even with this blacked out windows, because it will be a G500 from the CIA..., you know. It's too late now, but if you had asked me, I would've suggested using pickup-truck bedliner spray for the fenders. It has a rough texture that looks more realistic, and it's a thicker coating so it resists damage better. Looks great, though. I didn't even know Traxxas was offering a Gelandewagen body option. (EDIT: Hmm, I don't see this option on the Traxxas USA site. Maybe it's only a European option?)
@@Matteomeier: I wouldn't use that spray on a real pickup truck, because the coating is too thin for a real truck. I would take it to a shop to have a much thicker coating applied by a professional. Thanks! If you like to get a mate finish you have to apply the mate color or mate varnish from the outside. It holds good, but of course it's not this resistant as from the inside.

Have you ever tried Tamiya Polycarbonate Cleaner? It's amazing stuff and will remove paint from lexan without making it go cloudy. It saves making new windows 👍
Yes, I have this cleaner in my garage. I have used it to remove the paint on front lights. But it get never this clear result as with new unpainted pplycarbonate.

Hey Matteo, great job sorting the awful windows on these things. I have no idea why Traxxas put the scale details on but don't bother to make the windows clear. Question: What paint did you use on the wheel arches? I can't find a matt black RC paint. It's a great effect and much nicer than the stickers they provide.

I did try cleaning the paint off with Carson Paintkiller but it's taken ages just to do a little section of one window and simply not worth the effort. I'm surprised that you recommend TS paint. Thank you! Traxxas have improved the second edition of the G500. This comes with clear windows.
I recommend to use Tamiya TS-6 Matte Black spray paint
