I like that you did the don't video first. For anyone "thinking about getting a beardie" it hopefully helped them be aware of different aspects they might not have considered. The do's video just reaffirms reasons those that have researched that a beardie is for them. Love you vids!
Yes! When I first started learning about beardies a couple years ago that was one of the first videos I went to. Knowing what you're getting yourself into is extremely important before purchasing an animal
Big fan! Keep up the great work!😁👍 I’m 13 and I’m getting a bearded dragon for Christmas. I ordered a 75 gallon tank, and I am well prepared! Thank you for teaching me how to care for my bearded dragon!😁
I like the "why you shouldnt" videos more than the "why you should" - everything in why you should is the easy fun stuff, learning about the hard, weird, more complex things (in my opinion) IF youre willing to deal with all the "shouldn'ts" and you STILL want one after hearing all the "shouldnts" then youre probably a really good home for one. If you hear the "shouldnts" and youre like "eh maybe not" then you should do more research before getting one, or just not get one
Q and A : Do you recommend Reptile Terrarium Starter Kit? The tanks that they sell in pet stores with everything you supposedly need. Really want a bearded dragon
I just wanted to say that I cannot believe you would get negative comments. On your video why you shouldn't get a bearded dragon is because of your love for these wonderful reptiles. Bearded dragons require a lot of care and attention. Way too often people are not prepared for this responsibility and it's the poor bearded dragon that suffers. Thank you Elle for making that video.
People are so stupid and quick to get outraged sometimes 🤣. I totally understood your video and even noticed one you your fellow reptile creators made a "why bearded dragons are the best pet" one day after your video uploaded.
.I have a beardy and a corn snake an while I love both, the bearded dragon is more work, but also much more rewarding because you can interact with them so much more. But I think she is starting brumation, being her first year I can't really tell. She is certainly less active and just dozes off in her cool end during the day, but still actively eating crickets, but off her greens slightly. But she has developed a beautiful pink beard over the last month.
I have hand fed my dragon since day one, he is now a year. He now refuses bugs (when im watching) unless i hand feed him. They are honestly so sweet though, my dragon loves people and has never gave me a black beard or shown signs of anger/distress.
Question for Q&A video: I definitely do not want to get my bearded dragon from Petsmart or Petco, and I would also rather not get one shipped. How do I know if a baby bearded dragon is healthy when looking at it in a pet store?
I've done a few videos of how I prepare to leave for vacation, but I always just have my mom come to my house daily to take care of my animals while I'm away. She just does what I would normally do during the day. 😊
Yeah I got two of them because my niece wasn't taking care of them properly and I took them over and they are a lot of work but I couldn't stand seeing him in a little bitty fish tank two of them I'm just trying to make sure I do it right for them
Hi ^^ I just got a beared dragon and i totally love him ! i did research and still im scared off feeding him the wrong thing. i give him my whole morning , giving him baths and cleaning his tank, after that he gets fresh food and water and i take him outside for like 60 to 90 mins so he can enjoy the sun. he needs suppliments but i have a hard time finding the right ones , could you help me out?. I want him to have everything he needs. Atm hes a adult male in a small tank (cause thats how i got him) but im searching for a new tank . as for uvb lights what are the best ones for a beared dragon?. Love your video's
Question for Q&A video: I am getting a baby bearded dragon for Christmas. I ordered a tank that is about 67 gallons. Is that tank going to be big enough for a dragon fully grown, or will I have to upgrade at some point?
Well it really depended on the dragon and the tank a 67 gallon is good for now because if your bearded dragon is the size of half or more of the tank then they are getting to big for it I know know that from experience
thanks Elle my bearded dragon has a great appetite for bugs and Bell peppers. i have a hard time finding mustard greens where i live so i use broccoli and kale.
Those are 2 things that beardies shouldn’t eat! Kale and broccoli (as well as spinach) are calcium binders and can interfere with your lil buddies nutrition. If you can find spring mix around you or anything like that it will be much better!
I'm always thinking about my dragon and I don't know if I should get another one I am in a wheelchair and I had a bad accident with my last one She was going under my wheelchair and I ran her over. I have to get my habitat clean and then I can think about it. But I think about her all the time she was so active and she was like a kid, I would tell her it's time for bed and she would run over to the bed I made for her and she would get in her bed and go to sleep, I would tell her if she wanted some crickets and she came over and sit there and eat them till they were gone. She was the best I could ever find.
Brilliant video! Been really thinking of getting one since that last video. And been cruosing my local CL for my future BD. Question: Have you had any pets that you felt you needed to rehome when starting your family out of concern for your kids?
My wife and I are looking into getting a Bearded dragon and we are doing our research 1st. We are looking and breeders but which ones would say are pretty good.
I was told to wash my hand after handling the BD to avoid picking up salmonella by most Careguide on line. That really stressing me out, how true is it? I see you handling it freely, crawling all over you so how do you manage it.
Q&A: is there a specific way you recommend superworm breeding as a food supply for my beardie? I keep them in a container with oats, but usually run out of worms after 4 months (1000 count supply)
so if iceberg lettuce isn't nutricious for dragons and is mostly water then can you feed it to dehydrated beardies as a means of giving them water if they won't drink it by itself by like dripping it on their noses or something? this might be a stupid question but it feels like it should work?
I'm looking at getting a bearded dragon but just the dragon is $120 not included the place it will live. I'm still going to get one because I love them but I think I'm getting ripped off.
Question for Q&A video: I am now getting a 120 gallon tank for a baby bearded dragon I am getting this Christmas. Do I have to worry about the tank being to big for a baby bearded dragon?
2 weird bearded dragon facts I only found out since getting one. 1 they drink through their mouth or bum. 2 they have a 3rd 'eye' on the top of their head that acts like a light/motion sensor that detects prey coming from above.
hello i know this video is from a while ago but i may be getting a bearded dragon and i was wondering... should the water bowl and food bowl be on the cold or warm side??
I’ve been researching for sooo long, but do you have to feed the insects or can you just feed them too the beardy, and can you use tap water and if not what do you use to clean the water. Thank you
Hey I have a question and I’m not sure you’ll see this but I hope you will! I am a seventeen year old and I want to save enough money to buy a bd and everything needed for it by myself. I was wondering since I’m a high school student going into college In about a year, do you think I would have enough time to care for my dragon while in high school since I’ll be gone from 8 in the morning to around 5:00 in the evening?
You can, and most of them prefer this! Some will actually drink from a water bowl, though. As long as the water bowl is small, not under the heat lamp, and you monitor the humidity, it's fine. 😊 Unfortunately, none of that works for mine, and she only drinks when I bathe her haha
Reasons to not: I know this because I’ve had one for a year YES they are fun at first but after a while, they get boring. Generally they sit around, don’t do much, and after a while they hide anyways. They shit on the floor, bed, etc, and cleaning the cage is not fun at all. Any time you hold the lizard you have to worry about washing up afterwards so you don’t contact salmonella. If you want a relaxing pet it might be a good idea, but personally wouldn’t recommend. I was insanely excited at first, but now I’m giving away my sweet Nova. I’m sad that I’m getting rid of her, but hopefully she goes to somebody who has more time.
I hope i did not make you lose any money. I was the one that made the suggestion. Sorry for people saying mean to you. I love bearded dragons but i dont have the time
Haha I haven't watched either of these in a while, but I think in the last one I was including setup price, and in this one I was talking more about to maintain them as compared to other animals (like dogs). Maybe? Sorry.
Hi! Don't forget to leave us questions for a future Q&A video! (please 😊)

Q&A: Hey uh, what morph of bearded dragon is your favorite?
Q&A: what are some lesser known types/breeds of snakes or reptiles that are also good for beginners?
I like the "why you shouldnt" videos more than the "why you should" - everything in why you should is the easy fun stuff, learning about the hard, weird, more complex things (in my opinion) IF youre willing to deal with all the "shouldn'ts" and you STILL want one after hearing all the "shouldnts" then youre probably a really good home for one. Hi thanks for making this video
😁
I just got a bearded dragon and whach your videos it helped me allot with knowledge about bearded dragons
It’s name is cosmo
I'm so glad they've been helpful, and that's an awesome name for a bearded dragon! 😊
Q-A what are some differences in Male and Female bearded dragons.
Cause they are awesome reptiles and so cool to watch eat
Q and A :
Do you recommend Reptile Terrarium Starter Kit? The tanks that they sell in pet stores with everything you supposedly need. Really want a bearded dragon
For example the “ Zilla Bearded Dragon Tank”
I have the same question
I just wanted to say that I cannot believe you would get negative comments. On your video why you shouldn't get a bearded dragon is because of your love for these wonderful reptiles. Bearded dragons require a lot of care and attention. Way too often people are not prepared for this responsibility and it's the poor bearded dragon that suffers. Thank you Elle for making that video.
Thank you ♥️ yea, the amount that I see in terrible shape being rehomed is so gut wrenching. 😔
People are so stupid and quick to get outraged sometimes 🤣. I totally understood your video and even noticed one you your fellow reptile creators made a "why bearded dragons are the best pet" one day after your video uploaded.
That's good! I'm so glad you understood it 😊. And I noticed that too haha

I have a bearded dragon it’s so cute and loves me allot
I love how you did the why to don.t get one first and then this one because if you want one you should consider the cons before the pros
Getting one in a month helped so much

ik this vid is old but I have a major Q&A Question:
What's your bearded dragon feeding routine?
Getting one for my bday!!!
Question for Q&A video: I am getting a baby bearded dragon for Christmas. I ordered a tank that is about 67 gallons. Is that tank going to be big enough for a dragon fully grown, or will I have to upgrade at some point?
The bare minimum for a bearded dragon adult is 75 gallon, but the best tank size is 120 gallons
That is probably good enough because the minimum is 40 gallons which is what I ordered

You can also use collard greens, those are usually pretty popular in grocery stores if you can get your hands on those. My beardie loves them
Q&A Where did you buy Zazz ?
Any future pets you will get
the main issue i have is that my clilmate doesn't allow them to get out of the tank a lot
low temp, high humidity
Only summers are hot enough
What age do you recommend to get a bearded dragon at
I have pet allergies because of the dander in the animals saliva so that’s why I loveeeeeee reptiles
