It was scripted that way, just like it was scripted that they shot down such a number of fighters. Hollywood thinks this has to be shown that way even if it don't reflect reality. The bomb sight was also wrong. With the Norden bomb sight you put the crosshair far ahead over the target and the sight keeps the crosshair automatically on the target if height, speed over ground and direction is set correct. If not, the bombardier correct the speed setting and direction of the plane until it works. This way, the sight knows speed over ground, drift and height and drops the bombs at the right distance to the target. The bombardier takes control of the auto pilot direction setting and aims according to the crosshair that remains on the target. It is kind of an mechanical computer. In theory this should hit perfectly. In real life it wasn't that much better than any other normal sight.
The B2 fours could not survive a water landing the corrugated Bombay doors were tear open, causing water to rush in and break up the airplane or make it sink too fast
Body armour of the day would have struggled to stop even the comparatively smaller 7.7mm rounds from a Zeros machine guns, against the 20mm HE rounds they also fired it was completely useless. Remember those guns were designed to bring down an aircraft. A 20mm HE shell would tear a human body to pieces. In 1943 the only thing that could stop a 20mm round was armour plate (like on a tank), and even then the sheer concussion would probably be fatal anyway.
Put yourself in that situation for one second. I can't begin to imagine the madness of it all...
It was a crazy assignment. The survival rate for the men on those missions was less than 50%.
It just blows my mind to how calmly he handled the situation and kept his cool under pressure.
Yeah they’re actors
Oh that’s very easy if your not actually in danger 😂😂
@@armydillo1013if you ever heard recorded tapes from these guys in combat they are really calm

It's a movie.....
Its a gradual process getting use to it.
Enjoyed the movie.
No parachute harnesses on the crew.
If you got to bail, you have to put a harness on first before clipping on the chute.
I love this movie but it always makes me laugh how quiet the inside of the plane is 😂 those radial engines would be louder than hell at full song
Well yeah, we need to hear what the actors are saying. This is a movie...
WHAT????
Sorry, someone had to say it
🤣🤣

Why aren’t they wearing parachutes?
Warriors never think when they die
Damn good movie!
great 👍 🎬 😊
It’s a movie. Full of factual errors.
Hey, it’s Paddy!
No body armour.

Unbroken excellent movie Angelina Jolie 😊
Летчики это особые люди, там не бывает случайных людей, так что не удивляетесь их мужество, это летчики
B24 Liberator or B29 Superfortress
B24
If it was a B29 those fighters wouldn't be able to get up to 'em. And even if they did... B29's got 12 reasons to reconsider.
👍👏👏
🙄😒
Ngajual mata uang kamana
No oxygen masks, no fur lined jackets at 20,000ft ? What garbage.
This was in the pacific and they were at 12,000 feet.
Or parachutes or helmets. Woeful garbage
@ you clearly don’t know much about
Awful CGI
Much better than "Masters of the Air" though.
First!
