True. But I prefer the gel actually! Here I'm not exactly sure of the cause but in all my most recent videos shot in Colombia I was very red and had quite a bit of blood, regardless of the barber/technique. I think maybe it was triggered by one shave that my hair/skin didn't like, and now subsequent shave have to deal with bumps and ingrown, etc. Or, hypothesis number 2: it's the long/rapid strokes. I've notes it tends to be less when barbers do very small/short strokes.
