  • "All you need is a rock and a mountain" a semi-wise man once said. I'm here to tell you it's true. 72 pound rock, 1.5 miles up and 1,000 ft elevation gain will give you a WORKOUT if you're in the market for one.
Sadly, old man strength is still strong and present in our family. Gotta give credit where it's due, Cam is a beast and I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever pass him in strength haha.

I don't know, 32kgs in a back pack would hurt just as much believe it or not, you can't change the way you cary it just as much as the rock, and the weight will dig into your shoulders after about 5 minutes carrying it on your back, after 10 you'll want to drop it like anything else but it being on your back the entire time would destroy you.

@@Boufonamong right... obviously you've never worn a pack. Its not all on your shoulders. You adjust straps and try to make much of the weight ride on your hips. I'd say the brain is the muscle that needs confitioned the most here. . This kid has plenty of strength and plenty of endurance. Overcoming the mental struggle of trying to beat the rock, hill, and his father are probably the real obstacles. Fortunately, he has an idea of a proper pace now, so I think that will help a lot.
I can't imagine trying to tote a bag of quikcrete up that hill, much less, in 39 minutes. Plus, the quikcrete would lay relatively flush across the shoulders. The damn rock is awkward no matter which way you hold it.
I have no doubt the kid will beat it. It may just take a few attempts to beat his pshyce. His dad whooped it because he didn't stop. I'm sure he just settled into a nice beastly pace, too. That's huge in endurance sports. Truett will no doubt figure out a way to beat that rock and hill. I'll be excited to see him do it, too!
