Couple mistakes and mistimings really cost them, but overall a very intense match. High level of respect between both teams and just waiting for that split second of an opportunity to take an advantage. Really makes you wish they did more global tournaments every year because it's such a treat to watch.
Its been a while I wanted to say this.......The editor for this highlights should include DRAFT when it matters. Final game - BLG targeted Faker with 5 mid bans with Faker ultimately picking an assassin. T1 fall into a dilemma where picking Ksante means no engage & taking Zac means enemy Ksante is unpeel-able.
Furthermore, its on T1 for not picking a mid champ during first rotation when BLG banned 3 mids, thus allowing BLG to further ban 2 more mid lane champs
Yeah bad draft in my opinion from T1 decided the last game but Faker overall didn't seem confident in the series he was solokilled a lot in the lane phase hopefully he will back
pretty sure T1 isn't rushing to show their best performance as they know they'll have to face GenG or BLG twice even if they win this series. If they fall to the loser bracket, especially that they already know it's TL they'll face, every opponent from there will be knocked out of the tournament, thus they don't have to win twice and show their hidden strategies beforehand, if they even have one. Nonetheless, and the way things are playing, I feel like they will still lose against GenG but have a chance again against BLG.
there's a difference between not showing your hidden strats and underperforming. They do just too many individual errors (how many times did faker get solokilled mid, even against G2 ? that could be easily avoidable). And adding on top of that terrible drafts from the coaches...... T1 are, as of now, far from top 5 teams if they keep playing as badly.
@@midnight8431 You can say they're under performing, but at the same time, when did you see Faker play Veigar, Akali, and Asol this season? For me it's not that the draft are terrible, more like they're testing some comps and champions, especially that Faker is getting target 5 champ bans. It's the perfect time for him to try off meta champs. I'm not saying they're surely gonna win after falling to loser bracket, but I'm sure this isn't their ceiling or their "try hard best".
@@Genemesis ok, but Faker has much more picks than what got banned like leblanc, yone (which could save their drafts pretty nicely), or they could pick TF mid and pick a real frontliner top. Faker never plays asol or veigar... He could also pick sylas. Which is at least 3 comfort picks for him that didn't get banned and would set better teamfights (besides for Leblanc obviously). And again, he's not alone, and i don't get why they keep trying with TF top, it can only work if enemy team locks in vayne, which is a much easier matchup than playing a tank. Those are the draft mistakes. Individually, they are all so used to play with Faker that is the shot-caller and the guy who engages during teamfight that they appeared lost. And Faker dieing that easily mid on jgl rotas, when he isn't getting SOLO killed.... again, that's way underperforming for the whole team.
@@midnight8431 Yone, leblanc are not the best matchup against Tristana. Akali was one of the better choices. Tristana has very strong early game. wWith high base dmg numbers, so a yone could have issues early game. Tristana can shove waves into the tower with Q quite consitntely forcing faker to farm under the tower with yone, thus putting a lot of pressure on him. Also tristana's ult and jump can counter yone's abilities. Of course yone scales really well later into the game, but its not certain he would have the oppertunity. Leblanc would be a similar case. She lacks waveclear so they would lose a lot of prio in the early game. He might have the opperttunity to put pressure on Knight at lvl 6 ofc, but that is only if he is strong enough. AKali with her shroud was one of the better picks in this scernario. Due to her slipperty nature lvl 1-5 Where too close and can counter tristana even if she jumps away with E. Not to mention at lvl 6 akali's ult is quite powerful with an execute as it deals missing hp % dmg. There is also a case of how much mastery faker has on each pick. Which we don't know however if he was more confident in yone than Akali , then yeah, probaly should have picked yone but that is afactor we do not know. SO BLG drafted really well, as tristana has a really good early game, which makes it tough for Faker. Altough T1 could have considered Syndra, Viktor or Sylas, if they wanted more prio, don't know how strong they are in the current meta though.. Galio(they did consider), but it all comes down to different facotrs and in the end how much faker has been playing said champions lately and how strong they currently are in the meta and if it fits to their comp/game plan.
@@jandabrowski9516 well, I didn't talk about the 1v1 match-up. I talked about the overall team comp. Yone was required over akali, akali is just useless if behind, and she doesn't have the engage "threat" a yone has with ult. Also the games last enough time for the yone to get into the late game. And I also said that Faker has a sylas, or a ryze that would still do way better than what we saw.
