Well, whatever someone else says about "modern-day prophets" the world's religions would do well to remember that Almighty God created ALL mankind, and He loves us all, and, as foretold in scripture, He will one day claim all mankind and judge them for their intentions! A loving God has made ancient scripture available to man, with ALL of the inherent mistakes made by copying and re-copying the copies made earlier, and He will provide (and has provided) the modern corrections and directions for eternal life! In other words, He will NOT leave us ignorant! Neither has His love for His children lessened, nor has His ability to speak to a humble and listening mankind come to an end!! Who IS it that would pretend to limit the words of an Omnipotent God??

I have watched President Nelson’s talk on “think Celestial”. I know that he is God’s prophet on the earth today! There is unlike any man as He is, I truly believe that the Apostles and Prophets of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are some of the best leaders this earth has ever had. I Love reading on President Nelsons biography written by Sheri Dew in her book “Insights of a Prophet’s life” I believe. His fruits are good, I know it.
If we follow the words of this modern Prophet, we shall not go far astray. He brings us close to Christ in the Temples now available worldwide. We're close now to having had modern Prophets among us for nearly 200 years now, yet many among us have no ear for these amazing and sacred things. Hopefully more will look at the fruits of this gospel as it continues to go forth, blessing all people everywhere.
You don't need a prophet to guide you! Just the Holy Spirit. He will tell you what you need to know. Don't listen to these half wit religions that say "it's not done anymore." You can be filled with God's Holy Spirit. It is His will that you are. God visited Adam in the cool of the day. He wants a "personal" relationship with you. It's in his word!
If you listen to the living prophet today, you’ll hear Him guide you to develop a personal relationship with God as well. For me I’ve learned to hear the voice of The Holy Ghost over time. I cherish this relationship and ability to tune in. But it takes constant effort to maintain. Things I do to maintain this relationship are studying the Bible, studying the Book of Mormon, and studying the words of modern day prophets like Russell M Nelson.
