- This video demonstrates how I fixed an issue with our Town and Country where the dashboard lights would all light up and flash, headlights would randomly flash, windshield wipers would move. Repair took about 2 hours with very little experience.
To diagnose if this is the issue you may be experiencing, open the driver's-side door fully and push on the rubber boot connecting the door to the main body frame. You may be able to find a direction to push on it that makes the occasional issue happen all the time.

Thanks for the video! Great info. My broken wire was tan and white for the door lock button. I was able to get the white electrical block out of the door pillar and there were two plugins on the back side. Once the two plugs were released I could slide the rubber boot over the block then plug it all back together. Saves you from removing the door. It will make it easier to fix the wire when it is loose from the car body too. Again thanks for the video.
thanks for posting while mine wasn't the driver door it was one of the sliding doors.. cleared it right up quick fix for 1.99

Mines doing this and someone fixed the slider with remote not working and now can’t lock or unlock with remote 🤷♀️
But van quit running gradually and all the stuff you’re talking about is happening. Still won’t start with new battery tho. I wonder if the wires were messed up when replacing that part??

I had that van as well. The sliding doors also cause the same issue. You have to either remove the wiring harness in the sliding doors or open and shut them until it's no longer shorting out.
Just a possibility to the cause of the dash light problem. If you are experiencing this issue and your van has the VES DVD system with one or two fold down screens in the back. My van was having issues with the first DVD screen not wanting to turn on. Then the lower DVD player would not want work at times. This became more and more frequent of a problem until recently we just could not get the first screen to work and the lower DVD player would not turn on at all. Then one day last week we began to have the dash light issue as shown on the video with the exception that our wipers did not come on. I looked in the passenger and driver side front pillars for a loose or broken wire and found nothing wrong. So I figured I would look at the DVD problem. I found a video that talked about the ribbon cable the goes to the fold down screen will bend too sharp or even break. Sure enough the ribbon cable on that first screen was very worn and had a sharp crease in it. For $22 on eBay I replaced the cable, now the entire DVD system is working fine. Now the interesting thing is for 3 days we drove the van with the entire ceiling mounted console removed and the dash lights did not act up. Now we'll see if that changes now that the console is installed again.

I had the same problem, fixed it by removing the sliding door module fuse J11.
Drove my brothers home from work after he replaced the battery and the turn signals made it go crazy.

I just tried it in my van and they work I'm very happy I I had bought a fuse box and a ECM once I put those things is still did the same thing but I seen this video and check the wires shernoff same wires

Hi, i am having the same problem with my 2009 dodge journey R/T. I have no engine light on & it doesn't say anything about reprogramming. Could this be the issue? Could it be the wiring causing this problem? Because when i got my car the buttons for window to put down isn't working from driver side. Could this be causing the problem?

When I have this same problem and I hit the dash above the radio it flickers on and off. Can you point me in the right direction on your repair please.

Wow...what a Fun lil nightmare. My 09 Town & Country, the blue dash lights/ miles/ turn signals lights went out and couldn't fig out what the cause was, cause checked all the fuses. Thinking this might be problem.🤦

I didn't have any problem with the car actually running (ran just fine). However, the dials/gauges didn't show up at all so you might not see speed, gas levels, overheating, etc. Whatever you choose to do, please be careful.

I honestly don’t know. I found that it was the drivers side for me by pushing on the rubber covering the wires between the door and the main body

Happens with Jeep's too comon years from 98-04 it's usually a fast fix within minutes.
Does that cause the headlights to flicker too? Its noticeable to me as I’m the driver but it’s not so noticeable to others

Hi, I have the same problem, sometimes when it rains the whole system is activated and it works, or when the heating works all, but only sometimes ... the winks do not work, and the windshield wipers go alone.

Mine had the same problem but the touch screen flickered but the wipers didn't come on.
I have a Dodge Journey on which last week it started sudenly with the dashboard reseting and beeping, wipers going on and off as well as the headlights, just lik this video. The wiring was checked and seemed ok. Do you think this could be a TIPM issue? If I get a TIPM from a junk yard will it need to be re-programed? Thanks.
I took my car to a local shop 4 weeks ago (when I posted my comment). At first they told me that it was the TIPM, so I bought one from an online junk yard. The problem remain the same. Then they told me it was the window module on the front passenger door, because when they removed a connector the failure stopped, but that window and lock buttons were not working without that. So I bought that window module too, but when they tried it the failure was the same. So finally they told me they took it to a partner shop with a more "advanced" scanner and they found out it was a wiring issue behind the dashboard. Seems like the problem was solved, they're still testing now. My doubt is that besides the diagnose and fix, they are charging me for a re-configuration programing. Does someone know if this is correct?

use a screwdriver or something sharp if that's the window control only, no need to take off the whole plastic door cover
