Every winter I read the Little House books. My favorite is Little House in the Woods and Farmer Boy. I have to say though, Farmer Boy ALWAYS makes me hungry whenever I read about all the good food his mother made them everyday. 😊
There is a wonderful book called “Caroline” by Sarah Miller. It is about Caroline Ingalls and was approved by the Little House on the Prairie Foundation you might like. We seemed to like the same books.I am especially fond of Elisabeth Elliot and Tasha Tudor and collect their books also . I don’t know if you have it but the Tasha Tudor DVDs are wonderful also. I will be doing “Tea Time with Tasha Tudor”again this year for our local library. I cook several items from her cook book and patrons bring their favorite tea cup and I supply teas also. We watch her Christmas Dvd and I talk about her some and they get to see my collection of her books. I’ll wear my Tasha Tudor apron, it’s fun and draws a large crowd . Anyway I enjoyed your video so very much❤
I love the window covering, it looks so good! I love how you’re prepping everything for the colder months to come. Ifeel the same way about older homes: I don’t like to change too much, rather honor the home by maintaining what it used to look like in the period it was built 🤍
Blessings dear James and Lea! Thank you for sharing your beautiful cozy home with us! I really like the pretty natural plumes you placed in the pitcher. Beautiful for fall!
I’m with you! I love older homes and want them to keep their original charm. Our home was built in 1946. When we found it it was in the process of undergoing a “flip” makeover. I was so sad when I found out the the person renovating had torn out all of the real wood moulding and had replaced it with mdf. 🥺 He squared off the arches in all of the doorways, he covered the original curved fireplace with white and grey bricks, he tore out all of the inserts and burned them on the burn pile. 😥 We got there just in time to save the curved ceiling❤ edges, the original floors and the original mantle piece, but everything else; the things that I adore about old homes was gone forever. I was able to keep the original interior doors which I plan on restoring, and was also able to hold onto the original pine that he ripped off of the office walls. He had already thrown away the original lighting, and porcelain sinks and tubs, and so many other things that I would have loved. Now, I am trying to restore the original charm (through my tears). Lol
I understand completely, the restoration part. The craftsmanship and character of the design can be very beautiful. You all are doing a terrific job with what the Lord has given you to work with.
Another wonderful video. Thank you for your content. This really brings a warm and cozy feeling as I had back home. I am somewhat misplaced as of now. It reminds me so much of my home. Bless you and your family. Sending love and warm thoughts ❤️
I really like the window film. It gives the window a nice touch. 👌 Loved watching the festive fall decorations come out. Fall is my favorite season!🍂🍁🍃
I love this type of cozy preparing for Fall/Winter videos. They always leave me with a wonderful feeling at the end to where I just want them to go on and on. 🌹🌲🍂🍁
I'm originally from Jersey (now in SC). Between your videos and Old World Home, I'm missing NJ right now. There was access to everything and I miss the seasons. When you were reading the little house piece, it made me tear up since I spent summers on my Grandparents' farm in PA....no running water, wood/coal stove for cooking, 1830s house with no insulation, but I loved it. I want to get the Long Winter book (Homestead Tessie just got it at a thrift store, but no such luck here). Also, don't you just love when the dog jumps on the bed while you're trying to make it??
Thank you so much! You are a blessing from God! That was so cozy and beautiful! Can't wait for my husband to get home so we can watch together! God bless your family 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤ Because He loved us first, Tabitha and Charles
Thank you Lea I always enjoy a nice and peaceful visit to the mountain. The window film is an excellent tip as I have the same problem. P.S. I LOVE THE FALL. ❤
Lea, I learn so much from you... You inspire me to invite more and more slowliness in my life and embrace it and actually come to what really matters. Thank you! Lots of love from Germany ❤❤❤
Hi there !! Thank you for the lovely reminder to get our home also ready for the next season. We live in the Mediterranean area. Beautiful and summers are longer and warmer than yours but we often forget to prepare and along comes an enormous storm and shakes us up and makes us get ready for winter. Any way thank you for sharing. Lovely as always . Sending love from Mallorca Spain
Thank you Lea for another beautiful and calming video. Loving your family from South Africa❤🇿🇦 To all the homemakers and stay at home mums, you all are awesome. May God strengthen and bless you all.
Hello! We too are slowly getting our little place ready for the long winter. Just this week I have begun putting my gardens to bed. We are stocking up with goodies from our local farm market. God bless you and your family during this busy and beautiful season! Nora☺️💖
This was such a lovely video. Thank you for sharing. I so miss living in the northern climes. The Lord moved my family to the south about three years ago, and it has been a difficult transition for me. I have never been a hot weather girl, but I know that the Lord led us here. I love the cold and the winter snow. My favorite has always been autumn, which we usually have a pleasant one in my new location. However, this year has been hard on our area. There will not be a lot of lovely colors due to the over hot and dry season we have had. So watching your videos will give me a taste of it. I love the peace that seems to come with autumn. Thank you for sharing.
Oh my goodness how funny is it that I'm doing the exact same thing with my 100 year old windows too!! So fun to have a friend along in the process. Your windows so charming. Love and blessing sister. So grateful for you. ❤️
Hi dear friend Thank you for your efforts, thank you for your interesting and relaxing videos The atmosphere of your videos are very natural and calm, and You are calm, orderly and kindI🙂 I try to give positive energy to everyone like you💐 Good luck dear friend💐♥️
I may not be the first to watch your videos right when they come out. Gotta homeschool the kids and get the chores squared away first. But, I will ALWAYS watch. ❤😊
I took the boys to the ocean yesterday to surf, so we’re not quite there yet in coastal NC, but I could enjoy the slightly cooler temps and the empty beach. I like the window film!
somehow I have not watched your vlog for a while. I love it! I too like the idea of getting the home ready for the winter months. Loved the "Little house" reading. Thank you for this.
Priscilla here. Want you to know how much each UA-cam presentation you put out means to me. I always come back to the session and watch again to take notes. Thank you!
I live in a small studio apartment, so I can't do everything I'd like to do to decorate it for the fall. What would you suggest? Also, I have only a small hotplate to cook on, and I was wondering what kind of recipes you might suggest to eat healthy. I have to admit to not eating as healthy as I should have all these years, but at 64, watching your videos, I want to do more for myself in natural ways. Do you have any suggestions?
Ahhh, how I love autumn.. (sigh). Here it’s spring, and hay fever season, boo hoo! And I’m dreading the heat of another Australian summer. Can we swap? 😁 Thanks for another truly lovely video, Lea. Love from Aussie Lea xx
Unfortunately, I am unable to live as you do in the mountains in such a beautiful place, but seriously, I'd love to know about all the natural things you do for yourself and the things you eat.

Which book in the series is that one? I loved that reading!! So calming.
Such a lovely video! Your channel brings me so much peace ❤ Is there a link to your tapered candle lantern? I’ve been trying to find one for my home.
Do you garden and preserve for the winter? I always feel kind of frantic during that time. So much to get done.
What things were you putting into the jars? soups?
Broth ❤
Hi! Can’t remember which video it was, but did I see you use oil lamps? What is the oil you like to use for it to be non toxic? Thank you!
Absolutely. This one is a nice clean oil. amzn.to/4dRN8G3
