A ripoff monitor at that. Like yeah it’s color accurate and you’re not gonna find another 5k display like it but…. You don’t need 5k resolution and eye-searing colors for writing an essay, and it’s got huge bezels, a 10 year old panel, only 60hz, and a power cord that’s not meant to be removed…. Yuck.
She got it for free .. early access ..
nobody buys that for their ‘home use’ unless you’re a working professional and can probably expense it through your company or something..

The MacBook air M1 you bought (after accidentally buying the intel version because you didn't notice the difference) is more than enough and easier to put away in a dorm room compared to a 27 inch studio display, magic keyboard, trackpad and mouse... But yeah...

Yup, that's the one I have. I hook it up to a $100 external monitor with a wireless keyboard and mouse and it's more power than any college student will ever need

I agree with you on with the placing the mouse on top of the trackpad issue. On the other hand, I would also buy both the mouse and trackpad, as they have different advantages in different situations, and I'm not alone in that.

I think a M1 Max/Ultra Studio is better then the M2 Mini, but definitely is a killer machine and really want the Apple monitor! (I work for Apple-ish so I fan over the stuff
